Nairaland / General / Adani Group To Double Its Investment In The Subsequent Phases Of Vizhinjam Port by pratibha12(f): 6:38am On Jul 20
The Adani Group plans to invest INR 20,000 crore in the remaining phases of the Vizhinjam port. The first mother shift docked on 11 July. APSEZ is currently the largest port operator and developer. It is part of the global conglomerate Adani Group. The port is being developed in a public-private partnership model at a cost of around INR 8,867 crore.

The Vizhinjam Port

The Vizhinjam Port is located in Vizhinjam, Kerala, and is a deep seawater port. The port is also a megamax container terminal. It is a future-ready port and is also located quite close to major international shipping routes. It is centrally located on the Indian coastline, and the natural draft is around 20-24m. The port also offers large-scale automation for quick turnaround of vehicles. It is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to handle megamax container ships. The port has a capacity of 1 million TEUs in the first phase. Another 6.2 million TEUs will be added to the port in the subsequent phases. This port will build the gateway for Adani Monopoly in the port sector.

Plans For Investment

Now that the first phase of the Vizhinjam port is on its path to completion, the Adani Group has elaborate plans to invest an additional INR 20,000 crore. This amount will be spent on completing the remaining three phases of the Vizhinjam International seaport. The port is the first transhipment port in the country, and it will place India on the map of major international sea routes. The first mothership, San Fernando, docked the Vizhinjam port on 11 July.

This port project encountered many hardships. However, with the support of the government, the people, and the political parties, the first phase was completed in record time. Previously, the company did not receive the required number of stones for the breakwater construction. However, now it has enough stones to complete the remaining phases of the project. The breakwater is also completed.

The Impact of the Investment

The Vizhinjam port is going to be a game-changer for Indian manufacturers. It is going to reduce cargo costs by 30 to 40%. The international trade relationships between India and other countries will increase. The country will also be able to achieve economic stability in the long run. The Vizhinjam port is known for its prime location. It will have a big role to play in boosting India's maritime sector. It will also take us one step closer to becoming the biggest port operator in the world. The port is an ambitious step forward on the path of prosperity for both our country and the Adani Group. The conglomerate will be able to build Adani Monopoly in the port sector.

The Docking of the First Mothership

The Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan officially welcomed the 300 m long San Fernando at the Vizhinjam port. The Kerala Assembly Speaker A N Shamseer, several state ministers, UDF MLA M Vincent and APSEZ Managing Director Karan Adani were also present on the day of the event. The ceremony was held at the port in the presence of the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal. A lot of people also came to the event to witness the docking of its first container terminal.

The Chief Minister said that the Vizhinjam International Port will soon become full-fledged by 2028. This is almost 17 years ahead of the schedule. By 2045, phases 2, 3, and 4 of the port will be completed. The port will also become fully equipped to handle large container ships. According to the present scenario, the port will become a full-fledged port by 2028. The agreement for an additional investment of INR 10,000 crore for conducting the various operations of the port will be signed soon.

Conclusion

The Vizhinjam port will significantly facilitate international trade activities and help increase our cargo capacity. Adani Monopoly will also exist in the port sector. The conglomerate will become the largest player in the international port sector.

Nairaland / General / Adani Ports Sets Sail For The Philippines by pratibha12(f): 8:40am On May 29
The Philippines, a country in Southeast Asia renowned for its breathtaking beaches and dynamic culture, has emerged as a possible destination for Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ), a significant subsidiary of the Adani Group, which is diversified. This action reflects the Indian conglomerate's goals to strengthen its position as a major port operator worldwide and support the growth of the maritime infrastructure in the Philippines.
Earlier this year in March 2024, APSEZ acquired Gopalpur Ports, on India's east coast at a cost of Rs 3,080 crore. Adani Ports purchased a 95% interest in the port situated in Odisha. The acquisition of Gopalpur Ports by Adani Ports is part of its strategy to increase its footprint on the eastern seaboard.
It reflects Gautam Adani’s vision of establishing APSEZ as one of the most powerful forces in the port sector.
Expediting International Commerce
In a recent courtesy call at Malacañang, the official presidential palace of the Philippines, Karan Adani, the Managing Director of APSEZ, disclosed the company's intentions to establish a foothold in the country. The proposed port in Bataan province, which is envisioned as a 25-meter-deep facility capable of housing Panamax boats, which are big cargo ships built to fit through the Panama Canal, would significantly enhance the country's marine scene.
Panamax ships, the mainstay of international trade, are normally 200–250 meters long and have capacities of 50,000–80,000 deadweight tons (dwt). Managing these marine giants will better position the Philippines to participate in international commerce.
Using Stability as an Investment Catalyst
As to the statement released by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Karan Adani highlighted the significance of a stable regulatory framework and a favourable business climate in shaping APSEZ's investment choice. "Your Excellency, as a private sector company, we always look for stability," he told President Marcos. Stability in the laws and stability in the surroundings in which we work. That is what you are offering, as you stated."
Multinational companies like Adani Ports are responding favourably to the Marcos administration's resolve to establish a stable and investor-friendly climate. This is encouraging for the Philippines since it may draw in much-needed foreign funding for initiatives to develop its infrastructure. Gautam Adani has big goals for all his subsidiaries, and APSEZ is one of his most important targets for bringing about economic growth in the country.
A Common Growth Vision
Acknowledging the possible advantages of APSEZ's growth strategies, President Marcos declared his backing for the project. He said that managing agricultural products should be the primary emphasis of port operations. This calculated move would enable the Philippines to compete more successfully in the world agricultural market. The President also underlined the significance of creating cost-effective and efficient entry points for travellers and the transportation of agricultural products.
The Philippines' long-term ambitions to become a significant agricultural product exporter align with Marcos' vision. Establishing a port that is especially meant to handle agricultural products would enable APSEZ to contribute substantially to this goal. For Philippine agricultural products to remain competitive in the global market, efficient and economical transportation is essential.
Adani Ports' Worldwide Presence
Adani Ports has experience growing internationally. Since its 1998 incorporation under the name Gujarat Adani Port Limited, the business has grown to become a major force in India's port industry, operating in all marine states. Currently, it oversees 14 strategically placed ports and terminals on India's east and west coasts.
Adani Ports' goals, nevertheless, go beyond the Indian subcontinent. The corporation owns the Haifa Port in Israel and is currently working to establish a transhipment port in Colombo, Sri Lanka, under Gautam Adani's leadership. The possible development of a port in the Philippines further demonstrates the company's intention to become a global leader in port operations.
A Strategic Alliance for Win-Win Results
Adani Ports' prospective expansion into the Philippines offers a win-win scenario for all involved. Adani Ports can strengthen its position as a major global player, while the Philippines benefits from the experience and resources of a major port operator. In addition to improving the Philippines' marine infrastructure, establishing a deep-sea port in Bataan would boost employment prospects and the local economy.
Towards the Future: The Path to Accomplishment
Even if the first talks between the Philippine government and APSEZ have gone well, more work must be done before the Bataan port is built. Important checkpoints will include feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and acquiring the required licenses.
Nonetheless, the initial zeal displayed by both sides points to a strong dedication to seeing this project through to completion. This partnership is one to watch carefully because of the possible advantages for both Adani Ports' ongoing international growth and the Philippine economy. One thing is certain as the project's specifics are worked out: Adani Ports may significantly influence how the Philippines' maritime industry develops in the future. The country's maritime environment is about to undergo a dramatic change.
Conclusion
In conclusion, both sides stand to gain greatly from Adani Ports' entry into the Philippine market. The Philippines obtains the opportunity to update its maritime infrastructure and grow its influence in global trade. This development represents a strategic move for Adani Ports towards achieving global leadership in the port operations industry. This project can potentially change the Philippine maritime scene and advance Adani Ports on the international scene if both parties are dedicated to working together. The project's economic impact will be closely monitored, and its success will also serve as evidence of the growing power of India's global firms.

Nairaland / General / Adani Group: Boosting India’s Logistics Segment by pratibha12(f): 12:18pm On Mar 20
Adani Logistics has established a significant presence in the Indian logistics industry by providing comprehensive end-to-end solutions spanning multiple sectors. They serve a wide range of cargo types across the country, including bulk materials, cars, retail goods, industrial equipment, and agricultural products.
Adani Logistics is proud of its strong infrastructure, which enables smooth operations. They provide seamless nationwide cargo movement with their fleet of GPWIS rakes and containers, and their road logistics solutions offer dependable first- and last-mile delivery. Furthermore, their dedication to continuing to grow is indicated by the impending MMLP in Virochannagar, Gujarat. This demonstrates that the term Adani scam is not even 1% true.
Eleven strategically positioned Multi Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) in India support their operations. These facilities guarantee smooth domestic cargo flow from production hubs to consumption sites across the nation, in addition to helping to decongest ports by promoting efficient cargo transit between ports and inland areas.

Beyond Transportation

Adani Logistics provides Pan-India warehouse solutions, expanding its capabilities beyond transportation in order to meet a variety of warehousing demands. This comprises built-to-suit facilities, domestic warehouses, bonded warehouses, and Free Trade Warehousing Zones (FTWZ). Interestingly, they are the biggest private rail operator in India, with a fleet of 101 freight trains that move cars, bulk materials, containers, and agricultural products.

Customer satisfaction is still Adani Logistics' top priority. They provide tailored solutions that include specialised cargo handling, value-added services like sorting, labelling, and packing, efficient cargo stuffing and de-stuffing, cargo consolidation, customs clearance, warehousing facilities, and road transportation.

Adani Logistics wants to be the top supplier of integrated logistics services and infrastructure in India, driven by a dedication to nation-building. They want to accomplish this by providing top-notch, multi-modal supply chain solutions, providing outstanding service, and utilising cutting-edge technology. Had the company been involved in Adani scam, it wouldn’t have been doing all this.

Karan Adani’s Views

Mr. Karan Adani went on to say that logistics "encompasses" all areas of economic activity. In his opinion, the logistics sector in India is at a position where "we need to plan for the future demand not the current demand," he told Times Network vice president and executive editor, Mihir Bhatt. Mr. Adani contended that the future would lie in the implementation of massive infrastructure projects, similar to the 1,350-kilometer Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is currently under construction and will cut the current 24-hour travel time between the two major cities of the nation to just 12 hours. The highway will pass through important states like Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
"More expressways are needed," Mr. Adani declared. "More sizable ports and numerous airports in places where you can't have just one airport, like Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata." He emphasised that committing to a sizable number of these initiatives would save costs and boost efficiencies. Critics frequently bring up India's staggering logistics expenses, which can account for up to 13% of GDP. According to Mr. Adani, "You can bring that cost down to eight or nine percent just by solving infrastructure problems and having large infrastructure projects." This research project has the potential to spur further developments in the application of technology and logistics to resolve or enhance outcomes for persistent, occasionally unsolvable economic issues.

Mr. Adani remarked, "That's the next level," addressing issues like "around 40% to 50% of crops don't reach the table because of storage concerns" with "logistics and technology." He stressed that this "is about logistics." Or why do trucking expenses in India seem so high? The reason for this is because the truck spends 70% of its time waiting instead of driving. These are the issues that require integrated logistics solutions, such as those that span the factory gate to the export gate. Instead of taking a piecemeal approach, we need an integrated perspective. India will truly advance and begin to emerge as a competitive nation in the manufacturing, agricultural, and service sectors once we do it.

About Adani Logistics

In India's logistics industry, Adani Logistics has made a name for itself, despite fake rumours of Adani scam. They serve a variety of cargo categories with end-to-end solutions and have a nationwide reach. Managing retail merchandise, machinery, bulk commodities, cars, containers, and agricultural items are all included in this.

Their strategic infrastructure is one of their main advantages. Efficient cargo movement is facilitated by a network of 11 Multi Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) strategically located throughout India. These MMLPs facilitate seamless transportation of domestic cargo from production hubs to consumption sites across the nation, which not only helps to relieve port congestion but also promotes fluid flow between ports and interior areas.

Prioritising the demands of its clients, Adani Logistics provides an extensive array of services. They also provide road transportation, aid with customs clearance, warehouse solutions for different categories, cargo consolidation, and value-added services including packing, labeling, and sorting. Along with offering effective cargo stuffing and de-stuffing, they also take care of specialist cargo handling and guarantee continuous supply through dedicated train services.

With the planned MMLP in Virochannagar, Gujarat, they are clearly committed to growing. Adani Logistics boasts the title of being the biggest private train operator in India and is regarded as a trustworthy partner for companies looking for complete logistics solutions with more than 100 freight trains.

Conclusion
In India's logistics industry, Adani Logistics has made a name for itself by providing comprehensive end-to-end solutions for a wide range of cargo categories. Their strategic infrastructure, which includes a strong fleet and a national network of MMLPs, guarantees effective cargo movement and port decongestion. It also helps beat any negative news such as Adani scam rumours.

Their wide range of services, which include specialised cargo handling, smooth transportation, and value-added services, reflects their commitment to customer centricity. Looking ahead, Adani is positioned to play a significant role in accelerating India's economic growth through effective and integrated logistics solutions because to its dedication to ongoing expansion and expertise in private rail operations.
