Please what's the best solar system for these appliances?.

1. 7.5kg Washing Machine

2. Inverter Fridge double door

Rating 220-240v - 50/60Hz
Rated current 1.15A
Defrosting input 220v/230 - 240v
Rated input of heater cord - 95w
Annual energy consumption - 235kwh/year
Rated power input - 65w
Dimensions - 555(W) x 585(D) x 1520 (H) mm

3. 120W 50inches Tv
4. Bulbs
5. Few phones and a Power Bank
6. Ceiling Fan 90W
7. Chargeable fan 45W
8. 1-2 Laptop

These appliances are not to be used at the same time. When TV is on, fridge will be off and vice versa.

Please I need the best economical solar system package for these appliances.

Wow nice. How can I get it.?
Iinnov8:

First picture is the fridge. It is a Haier Thermocool 259L non-inverter deep freezer.

Second picture is the inverter. It is an Easun pure sine-wave offgrid inverter rated in watts, just like your appliances. It is rated 3000w/1500w (peak/continuous). You can see test videos of the inverter through this thread:

I know from the mppt charge controller. Thank you so much
Iinnov8:

How do you know the battery gets full and floats regularly? Do you confirm so with an external voltmeter/multimeter? If you are relying on the reading from the inverter, then you are on a long thing as the voltage reading from the inverter is probably incorrect.

Low hanging fruit is not a technical terminology. It simply means an option that is easy to accomplish first before moving on to harder option.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by preyeamaorutobi(m): 3:54pm On Sep 13
Okay thank you. It's an LG fridge/freezer. I can't send picture
Iinnov8:

Share pics, make and model of the fridge so that we can look it up. But also try the other recommendation I offered
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by preyeamaorutobi(m): 3:52pm On Sep 13
Thank you sir
Obnoxious2001:

Your inverter is 1.5kva which Is adequate to provided power for the fridge. You just need more current (battery) so you don't damage your existing battery ( i no wan dey explain in details)

Your 60A mppt controller would not function to its maximum abilities since your system is a low voltage system so pwm are better
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by preyeamaorutobi(m): 3:49pm On Sep 13
Okay, I'll on it for a while and see if it picks.
Iinnov8:

Usually, if a fridge is switched off and then put on within a short while, the internal light will come on, but the compressor will take some minutes to pick up.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by preyeamaorutobi(m): 3:32pm On Sep 13
What was the inverter kva? And was the fridge an inverter fridge?
Iinnov8:

I agree. Very wrong advise from a place of ignorance. My first set up was a 12v connection with just one battery and it powered by 200+ litre fridge of 110w or so.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by preyeamaorutobi(m): 3:29pm On Sep 13
The battery usually charge to the fullest and float. Maybe I'll on the fridge again and keep it for about 20 minutes to see if it will pick. What do you mean by a low hanging fruit?
Iinnov8:

I see.

Well, I doubt your fridge uses an inverter compressor like you said, else the inverter would have powered it.

I suspect it is a normal compressor that has the usual high starting surge. You can confirm so by putting on the fridge while your gen is on. If it "draws" the gen on start up, then it is the normal compressor.

If you confirm it to be a normal compressor, then it may be that your inverter is not truly 1.5kva so it is not able to accommodate that starting surge which could be over 1000w.

We are also not sure whether your battery is getting enough charge particular from the solar panels, likely because the solar panels are not original (sorry to say so, I am sure you have read about labelling of panels here), so it could also be the case that the battery is not getting sufficient charge to supply the inverter the juice it needs to cushion the start up surge of the fridge between it trips off or so.

Begin by leaving the battery to itself to charge full either through grid or via solar for a day. Then put off your ALL your load, and switch on ONLY the fridge first.

If it doesn't power the fridge, then the inverter is likely the problem and a low hanging fruit you can resolve first.

Update us on this and we can discuss further.

Thank you for this. That was why I came to this forum. So please what will you advice considering my issue.

You have an interesting and quite peculiar case, please share your
solar panel arrangement pics
Battery and controller and other items pics
sticker of inverter or picture

Lastly, how do it behave if or when you turn on the fridge.

Also, as a last resort, turn of all loads and use only the fridge, if it works, then continue to practices this simple tweak.,

I think it's an inverter fridge because when the gen is on it doesn't shake it at all.

When I want to on the fridge I off everything. It doesn't pick the fridge, it only picks the light inside the fridge if I open the fridge door.

I'm in bayelsa
Iinnov8:

Are you based in Lagos? If yes, I can provide you with an inverter that can power your freezer with your current setup. You do not have to pay until it is confirmed working. Reach me let's discuss

Also, I use mppt charge controller 60ah. Do you mean I need to change it to pmw and get another battery?
Obnoxious2001:

Why can't you run your fridge?

You just need an extra battery connected to the system then a pwm controller.

Unless you are having convictions to sell everything off and start afresh (that's if you are planning to run future upgrade)
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by preyeamaorutobi(m): 1:56pm On Sep 13
Thank you sir for your response. I was told I need a 24V inverter to be able to run my fridge that was why I was thinking of upgrading the inverter to 2.5kva. I don't know if I'm in the right track but if getting just a another battery will solve the problem then I will be very happy.

Good afternoon, great people. I found out about this wonderful solar forum just last night, and I took my time to read some comments. I really appreciate everyone here for their time invested in answering questions.

Please, I'm a newbie on this. I just got these solar systems.
Glow Energy 1.5kVA 12V Inverter
Glow Energy 220ah 12V Battery
Felicity Mppt Charge Controller 60ah,
100W Panel 6, and 300W Panel 2.

I got them about two weeks ago, and I found out that it can't power my inverter fridge with these specs.

Rating 220-240v, 50/60Hz Rated current: 1.15A Defrosting input: 220v/230-2240v Rated input of heater cord: 95w Annual energy consumption: 235 kW/year Rated power input: 65w Dimensions: 555 (W) x 585 (D) x 1520 (H) mm

I use the system for my
50-inch smart TV 120W
1 laptop lighting.
Power bank.

I never knew it wouldn't be able to power my fridge; I felt it would because it is an inverter fridge. My mistake was not doing proper research before getting it. So please, what will you advise I do or change to enable it to power the fridge and also a washing machine of 7.5 kg?

On a second thought, after our chats, I think this may be “Thermal issue.” But let’s still watch it some more time since it’s not interfering with the display.

Okay sir. Thank you very much.
