I was 33 weeks when I landed 2 weeks ago
1. There is no straight flight to Canada, you can always walk around the aircraft to stretch your feet and then when you connect cities.

2. There are walk-in clinics which give you requistions for tests and referrals to ob/gyn once you get your Alberta health card .

3. That is sufficient and for information purposes only, they'll still redo theirs.

4. It actually depends on you, if you like labels buying here is better but note that you shouldn't buy so much clothes because of seasonal changes. Buying winter clothes here is definitely better . I didnt shop from Nigeria for my baby, I bought and still buying my stuffs here.

All the best

Ethelia:

Congratulations grin grin Although I'm still waiting to receive COPR, I've started getting stuff ready since I intend to do a short landing in October, God willing. I'm sure I'll have more questions, but for now;

1. How comfortable was the trip? did you have a straight flight or is it better to take a connecting one so I can rest and stretch my feet between flights?

2. Thinking of landing in Alberta, how easy or stressful was it getting a doctors appointment and Obgyn in such a short period?

3. Are there any particular documents the Obgyn requested for to make the process easier? (I already intend to take all lab and scan results with me)

4. Costs; I've already done some baby shopping grin seeing as its just a short landing, is it more economical to take the baby stuff I have with me or is it cheaper to just buy there? I'm not very particular about our local food so I don't need to use more than 40% of my baggage allowance for foodstuff.

Thanks a lot

What exactly do you guys want from people? Complaining here and there about referrals to page 0. If you are not ready to invest your time (by reading and researching) in a life changing opportunity then go and hire a consultant. The other dude said he went through elders' post and saw they were once novice... instead of him to use time to research on his permanent residency journey - Pettiness Redefined.

SESE10:
But you can genuinely reply to the question without referring her to page 0 that will take months to finish.

PPR Mail
PPR mail showed up on March 15 directly in myCIC account. I checked my application EVERYDAY (even on weekends) for the entire 140days post-AOR but the day it came I was away, so I couldn’t check until I got the email alert on my phone. I had thought it was another ADR as both ADR and PPR mails are always titled ‘Request Letter” on the CIC account. My advice for LVO candidates especially, is to get a life and avoid any form of expectation that the PPR is going to come soon. Get busy doing something and don’t plan around the time you will travel because LVO will surely take its time. My expectation was to receive PPR latest in December 2017, but it came Three months later so its best to get busy with something else while waiting. However, without prejudice to the foregoing, no matter how long your application has taken with a visa office, one thing is certain, you will surely get your PPR as long as you meet the requirements, and nothing is misrepresented in your application.

Guys, PPR is here.....

When the Lord turn the captivity of Zion, we were like they that dreamt.... I will like to give glory to Almighty God for He alone is worthy of all my praise...

When i saw Teatop1234's PPR mail earlier, i was genuinely happy for her and also pray that LVO will give me PPR too. One hour after, my golden mail arrived. On Monday, i told Pampem that i have a good feeling that both of us would get PPR this week and be free from LVO.

I want to sincerely thank all the elders of this forum for their contributions... Honestly, didnt ask any questions throughout this journey because i read and noted down everything that is important.

To my powerful colleague and mentor... @Egariyi, I love you to the moon and back... We will rock Canny together...

Woke up to this mail this morning. please is this PPR mail?

It is your responsibility to ensure that your PR card is still valid when you return from travel outside Canada, and to apply for a new PR card when your current card expires. If your PR card expires, it does not mean you have lost permanent resident status.

Hello!

how are GCMS notes ordered for non Canadian residents? because from cic's webisite it is for just Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or an individual or corporation currently in Canada.

Thank you for this. When I said we should do more reading @redocean took it upon himself.

Truth is that the thread is going like a hula hoop. People have spent so much time summarising and all that yet repeated questions are being asked.

4tunebest:

Now this is becoming repulsively annoying.

Please let's learn to read at least page 0 of this thread and stop continuous repetition of questions that had been answered previously.

I have been a silent reader of this thread, submitted my profile few weeks ago and I never asked any generic question here because all the information I needed from IELTS to ECA, etc, I got, not by asking questions, but by taking time to go through the first 10 pages.

Taking some time to go through the relevant pages is just a tip of the iceberg compared to the tedious journey ahead. If we can't do that, I wonder how we'll have the tenacity to go through the real deal.

Check 2147 but it totally depends on your job description and not title.

Anyone with idea of NOC code to use for the position of an IT support officer in a bank ? Though the closest to this seem to be computer hardware engineer; just wanted a second opinion from someone with experience or otherwise.

Okay.

I didn't agree with your thoughts doesn't warrant the bolded.

Boss13:

I think a lot of us here either lack English comprehension or are just too quick to react. I have read advice here that those offering it would not implement themselves.

An applicant submitted POF as Fixed deposit certificate and in the case LVO requires further proof, he/she resubmit the same POF as Tbills certificate, would that not raise suspicion? In case, you lack some English comprehension, suspicion does not literally mean rejection but doubts, which can necessarily be cleared by proper explanation.

To the affected person, please hold one a little bit. Immediately you get you PPR, nobody can ask you nothing again. You can utilize your money the way you want. When someone advises you to do this; ask them if they would do the same.

PS - Proof of fund is documentary evidence of availability and ownership of fund and when the documents previously submitted changes - it should raise suspicion.

I disagree with you.

What do you mean by raising suspicion? It's her money and she can 'invest' in whatever she wants as long as it is still available. Problem is that we have misunderstood the meaning of "proof of funds" . It basically means you have money to sustain you till you get a job as a new immigrant - they don't want people borrowing money and being stranded when they relocate and all the wahala that comes with not having money to fend yourselve and family (including stealing lol)

Boss13:

Fixed deposit should earn you interest. To address your concern, leave the money in the nature and form in which you submitted proof. Changing it to Tbills and LVO requesting for further proof may raise suspicion.

Hang in there. It’s possible you are yet to reach the average minimum of 6 months. LVO will respond and they do usually within the average of 2 - 3 months after they receive your application.

Oh My!! This is scary. What if the PA has never had any UK visa nor refusal just the spouse that has had a UK visa?

Pls anyone in the house with a UK visa that had his/her application in a visa office other than London?

esosa4real:

It's not like it's a confirmed theory , we have just discovered that majority of people with uk history, wether they got the visa or not most times get LVO.

Better you submit schedule A upfront. It's sometimes not requested even with history of past visa refusals. It depends on officer reviewing your file.

Let me give u real case scenarios.
I and my Bestie did dis cana waka together.
We both had uk refusals in the past...

Me- I had one uk visit visa + one refusal + us refusal + recent us visa --- i got london vo + schedule A adr
My friend - He also got uk refusal twice but no uk visa ....he also got london vo but surprisingly no Schedule A adr.

So it depends, no one know the exact rules, people sha sometimes observe a trend which is also not definite everytime.

What device are they going to play the audio from? For the reading, will they give a question paper containing the passages or will you have to read from a device?
Please can you explain how the exam is administered. Thanks
