Dear VO,

I have a valid b1/b2 visa. Having found a school and got I-20, etc, I want to apply for f1 and f2 (for my dependents). If the F1 application is denied, how does this affect the valid b1/b2, and can CWOP (Cancel Without Prejudice) be applied for the b1/b2 at the discretion of the consular?

I flew on Qatar airways before and everything went on smooth; not super, yet not bad. I will be having 8 hours layover in Doha in my next trip to US and another 14 hour when returning! I just checked on their website and the summary is they will arrange accommodation and meals to passengers facing extended transit times in Doha between 8 and 24 hours. I read not so pleasant experience of someone and I want to ask if anyone out there have used this or know anyone who has or have an experience. 14 hours layover is killing without provision. I know sometimes they can be nice as long as you don't require extra service from them. Your input will be appreciated.

I will be transiting in London for 10 crazy hours on the way to Atlanta!!! I actually don't need a visa to transit airside (i.e. not passing through the UK immigration but just connecting). I didn't check the itinerary very well. The question is would I be allowed land side (i.e. to enter London without visa) if just just for few hours, knowing fully well that I have a forwarding ticket to Atlanta? I'm with my wife. I could have applied for visa but i only have one week left! Will appreciate any clue. Thanx

Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen, I have noticed in some of the posts that some people use abusive and unprintable languages to get back at each other. Shouldn't there be a little display of native intelligence and decorum here for some sensible conversation, rather than been vulgar? Please, let's fight issues, not people. Every great empire always have an end. Now that Obama is the President-elect, America can tidy up her exit as the current world power and hand over the batton to what country now; China or ,  The end of every empire is always orchestrated by a mix blood. check your history! 

He is black because he answers to his father's name who is black. It's even fair of America to call him African-American because in effect, he is not, he is an African. I have discovered that marrying a foreigner in a foreign land will further draw your heart away from home and before you know it, you are lost. I find this topic interesting. I am an ambidexter, i.e. I use both hands effectively. But many times, Im proud to use my left hand in the public because it always cause stare and amusement. I write with both hands and as an architect, i also draw and do my paintings with both hands. I beleive left h anders are unique, but ambidexters are more. I actually grew up with it, really. I dont know why people would say they hate the MTN Sunshine advert. When will Nigeria grow? How is it that we dont appreciate ingenuity and abstract intelligence except physicallity? My kids would glue to the TV and almost shed tears watching it. If you don't love such an ad which i consider one of the best in Nigerian T.V, then you may hiss at many world class advert and call them garbbage. Be broad in your thought. Don't be too primitive. The best and most ingenious works in life comes from abstract. Piccasso, Da Vinci, Rosenburg, Handel and other great men's work that have stood the test of time are abstract. Love is abstract and that was one of the best representations of love. Such comes from inspiration not gains. Im sure many of you guys love money than smile, yet smile is one of the greatest gift you can give. That ad is outstanding! Have you watched the advert of Panasonic, LG, Nokia, etc. Some of you will never make any sense out of it. I pity our level of attraction to nature. Go out and see the movement of the sky, birds or the moon closing down at sunset and draw inspiration. I salute the origniator of this MTN ad in Nairaland; you are close to God.
