LagosNIV:
There have been some unexpected delays with immigrant visas lately (we are completing the interviews faster than the center in the U.S. expects!) and we haven't been able to print every case immediately as a result. If it is just a few days behind schedule we won't contact you.
Between that and the holidays every is just moving a little bit slower. Hopefully you will get a better update by the end of the day and the visa will be at the DHL on Monday. You should contact the Embassy or Consulate directly by e-mail though for specific info on your case. thank you! |

dear VO, My visa status on caec site changed to issued(my visa has been printed) on -09/30/2015.. but my passport update as at this moment still says- there is no status update available for the passport number submitted. please I will like to know what is going on? I am also wondering why it isn't showing "passport still with embassy or consulate" though my passport was collected by the VO when it was approved... we booked a flight already for this weekend. thanks in anticipation.. VisaOfficer:
Eek, don't worry! Knowing that you've had your interview, my interpretation has changed! I'm guessing your case is just fine, but the officer hasn't physically clicked the Print Authorization button yet so there's nothing for the computer to update.
(Often officers don't click the button until they know that someone will sit down to print visas in the next few hours -- otherwise some computerized parts of the case expire and have to be re-done before the visa can be printed -- it's a technological thing, and has nothing to do with the merits of the case. So sometimes an officer will say "Your visa is approved" and write that in the case notes and all over the folder the paperwork's kept in, but because she hasn't clicked the button yet, the status remains unchanged.) OMG, thank you ma.. thank you. wow... so its normal then.. 1 Like |

I'm afraid I have no way of knowing or speculating -- there are simply too many possible explanations. The best course of action is to continue asking for updates, every week or so. |

If an officer's not convinced of the relationship between the petitioner and the beneficiary, but they claim to have a biological relationship (or to have children together), often the officer will suggest a DNA test, rather than simply closing the case and returning the petition for revocation. It's not suggested in every case (or even most cases), but it's very helpful when there's just not enough evidence otherwise to issue a visa. thanks again |

Lots of good questions here! First off, if your father was a U.S. citizen when he filed the petition, your sister is and will always be an IR2 (unless she gets married). IR2s remain IR2s regardless of their age, unless they get married and become F3s.
Photos are good, especially if they span several years.
I don't give hints about questions. But just tell the truth and you'll be fine. Really! You don't need to act a special way; just be yourself and the officer will surely find you as charming as I do.
You can explain about your father's new address at the interview.
Good luck! thanks a lot... 1 Like |
