Science/Technology / Hitech: Razer Gaming Pc Has More Than 2 Screens by Primebazeweb: 9:12am On Jan 07, 2017 |
http://primebaze.gq VIEW SOURCE Gaming PC maker Razer has unveiled a concept laptop with three 4K screens at the CES tech show in Las Vegas. The firm claims Project Valerie is the world's first portable laptop of its kind. Two additional screens slide out from the central display via an automatic mechanism. One analyst praised the design, noting that gamers were increasingly splashing out on high-end laptops. All three screens are 17in (43cm) in size. When folded up and closed, the laptop is 1.5in thick. Razer said this was comparable to many standard gaming laptops, which tend to be chunkier than home and office devices. "We thought, 'This is crazy, can we do this?'," a company spokesman told the BBC. "The answer was: 'Yeah, we are crazy enough, we can do it'." Project Valerie is still a prototype and Razer has not yet published a possible release date or price. Gamers commonly used more than one monitor these days, said gaming analyst Jonathan Wagstaff at Context. "Although it is unusual, it doesn't surprise me," he told the BBC. "It is something people will buy - I think it will sell." He added that increasing numbers of gamers - particularly those who travel to e-sports tournaments - are in the market for portable computers with high specs. But Mr Wagstaff added that industry data he had reviewed suggested widening interest in such machines from architectural and graphic design firms, as well. "That is interesting, that is traditionally the territory of Apple's products," he said. Project Valerie was just one of several gaming laptops shown off at CES. Computer maker Acer unveiled a large, 21in model called the Predator 21X , which costs $8,999 (£7,250). Consumer electronics giant Samsung also launched its first gaming laptop - called Samsung Notebook Odyssey - in 17in and 15in models. READ MORE TECH UPDATES |

Celebrities / A Canadian Cancer Survivor Wins Lotto With 'numbers From A Dream' by Primebazeweb: 11:47pm On Jan 05, 2017 |
http://primebaze.gq A Canadian woman who has used the same lottery numbers for nearly 30 years has won the jackpot, winning a CA$5.3m ($3.9m; £3.2m) cash prize. Olga Beno from Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, says she "dreamt up" the winning set of numbers in May 1989 and has regularly used them ever since. The win is a fillip for the cancer sufferer, who has had to sell her home to fund her treatment. She now plans to build an easy-access ranch-style home with her winnings. "I know my numbers by heart, and I thought I saw them on the television screen the evening after the draw, but my eyes aren't good," Ms Beno was quoted by Atlantic Lottery as saying. "So I forgot about it." The next morning, she was going through the newspaper when she saw the winning digits again. "At first I thought - it can't be. It's a mistake in the paper. Then I said to my sister, 'I think I won the lottery'. "She said 'Phone me back when you want to tell me the truth'." Ms Beno was one of two people to win CA$5.3m from the 28 December draw. The second ticket was sold in western Canada. Ten years ago she was diagnosed with Stage Four cancer and had to sell her home and start renting. She said that her husband, children and grandchildren had helped her to survive the illness, and that her intention now is to spoil them by taking them to Disney World. http://primebaze.gq READ MORE UPDATES |
Nairaland / General / MMM Ready To Restart On January 14 by Primebazeweb: 8:03pm On Jan 05, 2017 |
http://primebaze.gq In spite of the cloud of doubts surrounding its operations in Nigeria, the promoters of Mavrodi Moneybox Mundial (MMM), a Ponzi scheme that promises 30% interest on seed funds say the scheme would resume on January 14 as promised. “Everyone expecting to see a stronger and more sustainable community from 14th January,” MMM Nigeria tweeted on Wednesday. The scheme in a message sent to all subscribers in December 2016 said it was freezing withdrawal of confirmed Mavros (funds) for one month, noting that the measure was put in place because “the System is experiencing heavy workload.” While critics believed the scheme was gone for good, participants and promoters said their belief in the system was unwavering. New rules for participants are expected to come into effect on January 14 to ensure its sustainability, the promoters explained. “New model will address the issues of fake proof of payment and non-confirmation of order by recipients,” said MMM Nigeria. “On the issue of fighting multiple accounts, the use of BVN was suggested which was unanimously rejected. Head of CRO, Mr Andrew attested that BVN can only be verified by Nigerian banks, so there is no way support can verify BVN. VIEW SOURCE |

Sports / Pogba A Phenomenal, Has Scary Potentials – Steven Gerrard by Primebazeweb: 6:14pm On Jan 05, 2017 |
Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard says Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba’s is a phenomenal and has a scary potential. He says the France star is improving every week at Manchester United and feels he will only continue to grow, which is a concern for all of his side’s rivals. After initially struggling to find his feet in the Premier League, Pogba’s true colours have shone through in recent weeks and the 23-year-old has impressed since Jose Mourinho placed him in a midfield three alongside Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick. Gerrard told BT Sport, “I think he’s got better and stronger week by week. He’s obviously a phenomenal talent. “I think coming with that big price tag early on has weighed him down a bit and Manchester United weren’t in the rhythm but I think now they’ve found his best position. “I think Carrick complements him so well and now we’re seeing the Paul Pogba that we all expected to see and he’s only going to get better and better. “He’s young, he’s leggy, he’s got all the tools in the bag and there’s no doubt about it he’s one of the best midfielders now and he’s going to get better which is a scary thought being a Liverpool fan!” http://primebaze.gq |
Science/Technology / Just In: UK Military To Build 'laser Weapon' by Primebazeweb: 5:46pm On Jan 05, 2017 |
VIEW SOURCE The UK Ministry of Defence has officially awarded a £30m contract to produce a prototype laser weapon. The aim is to see whether "directed energy" technology could benefit the armed forces, and is to culminate in a demonstration of the system in 2019. The contract was picked up by a consortium of European defence firms. The prototype will be assessed on how it picks up and tracks targets at different distances and in varied weather conditions over land and water. Peter Cooper, from the UK's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DTSL) , headquartered at Porton Down, said the project "draws on innovative research into high power lasers so as to understand the potential of the technology". He added that this could "provide a more effective response to the emerging threats that could be faced by UK armed forces". The MoD has been finalising the agreement with the consortium, called UK Dragonfire, for several months, but it has now formally announced them as the winning contractor. 'Ahead of the curve' A spokesperson for the MoD told BBC News that the demonstrator was not being developed to counter any specific threat, but to assess whether such weaponry could be delivered as a capability for the armed forces. But in general, directed energy weapons could potentially be used to destroy drone aircraft, missiles, mortars, roadside bombs and a host of other threats. The US military has been experimenting with high energy lasers for decades. But, until recently, technical hurdles had prevented them from being used on the frontline. However, the US Navy fielded a laser weapon system called Laws for testing on the USS Ponce during a deployment to the Arabian Gulf starting in 2014. It hit targets aboard a small boat which was directed to speed towards the navy ship and also shot a small drone out of the sky. The Minister for Defence Procurement, Harriet Baldwin, said that "truly ground-breaking projects like the Laser Directed Energy Weapon" would "keep this country ahead of the curve". If the demonstration is successful, the first laser weapons could come into service in the mid-2020s. The UK Dragonfire consortium comprises the companies MBDA, Qinetiq, Leonardo-Finmeccanica GKN, Arke, BAE Systems and Marshall ADG. url=http://primebaze.gq]VIEW SOURCE[/url] READ MORE TECH TRENDS |
Romance / 10 Tips That'll Keep The Sex Alive In Your Relationship by Primebazeweb: 4:16pm On Jan 05, 2017 |
VIEW SOURCE If you desire to have the magic of sex undisrupted in your relationship, though, the 10 steps below will be really useful to you. 1. Tailor your moves for your partner•• Sadly this is still an issue especially with men. It does not mean women are not guilty too, though. Learn the sexual things that thrill your partner and stick to them. 2. pre-intimacy isn’t the same for men and women•• For women, pre-intimacy begins long before the physical touching and groping. Deep conversations and even teasing words makes women relax and prepared while men often need contact to be stimulated. 3. Women are aroused slower than men•• Once again it is a matter of physical configuration that men need to understand. A woman might not be quick to the Hot state the way a man would. Understanding this will help you become more patient and more sensitive to her needs. 4. Different strokes [Quite literally]•• The bedroom moves you pulled on your ex is not guaranteed to get your next moaning and groaning as the previous one did. Individuals often like different things from one another. Learn differences- some like it deep, some like it not. Again, different strokes for different folks. 5. Be proactive•• This applies majorly to women. You don’t always have to wait for a move to be made on you in a relationship. Sometimes [or more frequently] you need to reach out and get what you want. 6. Be creative•• So it worked yesterday, and the day before… it will most likely get boring and repetitive today or tomorrow. So, always look for variations and newer experiences. Always. 7. Tension and tension release•• Sex is majorly about building and easing tension. So, learn to lay off sometimes and have the tension build to a significant height before easing it. This will add an edge to your sex life, make you more intimate and take you and your partner to newer heights. [Wink] 8. Kisses•• Those are meant not just for the lips. Explore. 9. Fantasies•• Discuss fantasies and consider the possibility of making them come alive. In so far as they do not pose health scares and are not too outrageous, they are permissible. What matters though, is consent and agreement. If you both are cool with it, nothing is stopping you. 10. Play fun games•• Card games that require you losing your clothes one after another, leaving hidden sexy messages for one another, writing Hot notes on mirrors for the other to find, wearing sexy lingerie and asking your man to get them off while he has a blindfold on… the list goes on and on. These games add an extra edge and break the routine. You surely will benefit from trying them out. VIEW SOURCE READ MORE RELATIONSHIP TIPS |
