Phones / Facebook Messenger Launches Group Video Chat With Snapchat- Style Selfie Filters by Princebello: 7:12pm On Dec 20, 2016 |
Facebook Messenger is bringing selfie filters to
real-time video chat. On Monday, Facebook announced that its Messenger app will let users conduct group video chats in real time. The splitscreen video will support six callers at any given time, but up to 50 users can join the conversation via text and voice, with the “dominant speaker” popping up on the video feed. Users on iOS will also be able to add 3D selfie filters—or “Masks”—to amuse their friends, a feature that’s been popular on Snapchat for quite some time. According to Facebook, selfie filters will roll out to Android users in the near future. To start a group video chat, just tap the video icon in an existing conversation. All the participants will be notified to go on video and can join in when they’re ready. In addition, you can add new users to the conversation by pinging them directly. Facebook says that 245 million people use Messenger every month to conduct video calls. Why this matters: Mark Zuckerberg and co. have been on a roll this year, adopting popular features from competitors—mainly Snapchat—to integrate into its Facebook apps. While Instagram got Stories earlier this year, Facebook’s flagship app integrated “Masks” into live video. Now, it looks like Facebook Messenger is also getting some of the Snapchat magic. Snapchat originally debuted 3D selfie filters to great success. Meanwhile, Snapchat has been slow to bring new, innovative features (perhaps afraid that Facebook will just snatch them). Last week, Snapchat finally allowed users to initiate group chats–the text kind, not video. Facebook Messenger’s group video chat feature also works on desktop, making it a new competitor to Google Hangouts Source http://Tunexclusive.com

Politics / Boko Haram: Buhari Charged Nigerian Army On A New Strategy by Princebello: 11:52pm On Dec 05, 2016 |
The Nigerian army will develop a new
strategy to tackle insurgency as President
Muhammadu Buhari has charged the troops
to escalate its efforts. The president also urged them to work closely with other security agencies to develop new strategies to eradicate insurgency and address other current security challenges. Buhari gave the task in Owerri on December 5, Monday, when he opened the 2016 Chief of Army Staff Conference According to the leader of the nation, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal, the new strategies should be key focus of the conference. READ ALSO: Boko Haram declares war on Buhari, read why President Buhari stressed that the conference would only worth the while if the deliberations that emanated from it “ will enhance stability in all parts of the country currently witnessing insecurity’’. “I assure you that I will diligently study the report and recommendations resulting from the conference and implement those recommendations that practicable and implementable, ’’ the president said. The country's leader recognised the sacrifices so far made by “gallant officers and soldiers of the Nigerian army in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this great country’’. “ These efforts have led to the dislodgement of insurgents from areas hitherto viewed as their strongholds. “It has also led to the rescue of abducted persons, relocation of internally displaced persons to their abandoned communities and gradual return to normalcy in the north-east. “The effort has almost stabilised the security situation in the Niger Delta and other parts of Nigeria. “The spectacular achievement of the security agencies in the fight to defeat terrorism, insurgency and militancy in Nigeria reinforce my earlier position that these threats would soon be a thing of the past.’’ Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar announced today that Nigeria bought warplanes and helicopters from Russia and Pakistan that will be used to counter terrorism in the country. The US is supporting the Nigerian military by providing training and intelligence assistance, but has denied to sell arms to Nigeria as it is concerned over alleged human rights abuses committed by the army. Religion / Jesus will return to destroy the Earth – expert claims (video proof) by Princebello: 10:12pm On Dec 05, 2016 |
- Jesus Christ will return to Earth in December this year to destroy our planet, a Christian computer programmer claims - According to expert's calculations and excerpts from the Bible's Book of Daniel, the Earth will be left to rest for 1,000 years Please, scroll down for video below! Looks like the second coming of Jesus is extremely near! Nora Roth, a Christian computer programmer and a conspiracy theorist, has conducted a research that shows the apocalypse will occur Live Online Church Enjoy A Full Worship Experience, Stream Online, Joi Us Now Live! Nora Roth, performed complex calculations using an excerpt from the Bible's Book of Daniel and came to the following conclusions in her work titled "2016 The Time of the End": In the fall [autumn] of 2016, the 6,000 years of sin on earth will come to an end, everlasting righteousness will be brought in, and Jesus will come again to take His people to heaven. Then the Earth will begin its 1,000 years of rest." The mentioned excerpt tells the story of the Jewish people's forced relocation to Babylon, where Gabriel says that "Seventy sevens are decreed […] to put an end to sin. The end is near, a Christian progammer said The programmer believes that 'sevens' refers to a Jubilee cycle, which is a unit of time that consists of seven of the larger units, followed by a year of rest – a total of 50 years. Referring to the Bible's instructions about the working week comprising six days, with a rest day on Sunday, she recalls that God "told the children of Israel to plant and to harvest their land for six years and then let the land rest the seventh year." Ms Roth writes: "The 70 Jubilees began in 1416 BC when God's children entered Canaan. The 70 Jubilees will end 3,431 years later in 2016 AD." However, not everyone is ready to embrace the news about the end times. Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual, said: "Obscure numbers and codes are loved by fearmongers, and by using them to predict the end of the world, they show they have an insight into the mind of God and/or the workings of the Universe. Using knowledge of past predictions, and the fact we are still here, I predict we shouldn't worry about this latest revelation." Politics / 2019: Uproar As President Buhari Allegedly Plots Osinbajo's Sack by Princebello: 7:41pm On Dec 05, 2016 |
Mixed reactions have trailed media reports
that President Muhammadu Buhari is keen
on replacing Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo
with another candidate as his running mate
for the 2019 presidential election. A source in the APC has said the president, from his body language, is already looking beyond Osinbajo because he knows Osinbajo’s loyalty lies with Bola Tinubu. The Daily Independent, citing a close source in the All Progressives Congress (APC), reported that the possibility of Osinbajo running on a joint ticket with Buhari in 2019 is very remote because of the close ties the current vice- president has with Bola Tinubu The source said the president, from his body language, is already looking beyond Osinbajo because he knows Osinbajo’s loyalty lies with Tinubu. He named the minister of solid minerals Kayode Fayemi and a former governor of Abia state Orji Uzor Kalu as likely replacements for Yemi Osinbajo. However, Nigerians have begun faulting Buhari’s alleged plan to swap Osinbajo for another candidate. Some have also faulted the choice Orji Uzor Kalu as the vice-president of the country, citing his corruption as a hindrance. Source http://tunexclusive.com

Politics / Why Quality Assurance In Osun Education Is Our Target – Aregbesola by Princebello: 10:17pm On Dec 04, 2016 |
Osun state Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola
has said that his administration has succeeded
in uplifting the standard of education in the
state with over one hundred percent
improvement recorded in the last six years.
He said his government has achieved modest
improvements in the performance of students
in the WASSC examinations since assumption of
office. Aregbesola Governor Aregbesola made the statement while declaring open the 3-day Education Quality Assurance Training Workshop organized by the Osun state Education Quality Assurance and Morality Enforcement Agency, at the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) conference hall, Abere, Osogbo. Governor Aregbesola who titled his speech, “Back to the Future of Education”, said his government has tremendously revived and brought in roadmap in education system in the state as manifest in efforts made to resuscitate the sector. Aregbesola said the performance of students in the West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, WASSCE under his watch had improved tremendously with 46.30% improvement compared to statistics met in 2010. He said the performance of the students in the terminal examinations had witnessed a significant improvement and skyrocketed from 21.68% met by his administration in 2010 to 46.30% this year. Explaining the rationale behind strides being made in the education system, Aregbesola said the state took the Zukuk bond to change the face of education in the state. According to him, the step taken was to ensure that the state is liberated from backward educational situation which his government inherited Governor Aregbesola recalled the state of education on his assumption of office in 2010 which he described as deplorable and dilapidated with appalling and decadent infrastructures. He said, “Our government made a concrete resolution to revive the decadence in the education sector having being informed on the need to prioritise education.” “It is on this template that our government resolved on the need to building uncommon legacies at all levels of education system by nurturing future leaders.” “We have also adopted and overhauled policies aimed at repositioning the education sector and bring in innovations to aid teaching and learning and as well rescue the future of our children. “Our government is succeeding in the construction of 20 state-of-the-arts High schools, 50 Middle schools and 100 Elementary schools across the state. Earlier, the Chairman, Osun Education Quality Assurance and Morality Enforcement Agency, Dr. Isiaka Owoade, commended Governor Aregbesola for leading the state towards educational sustainability. He said education in Osun has received a tremendous amount of attention since the inception of the Aregbesola administration. According to him, the Governor has demonstrated an unparalleled love and passion for education as manifest in the construction of new schools, refurbishment of dilapidated schools, creation of three education districts, increase in running grants to schools, school feeding programme (O’meal), provision of technological device, school chairs and desks among other interventions. “Since education is the foundation upon which the fortunes of a society rests, thus, having invested so much in education, Mr. Governor went ahead to create Osun Education Quality Assurance and Morality Enforcement Agency, a step in the right direction to ensure that the state gets value from her numerous interventions.” “Our agency was established to ensure that the processes of teaching and learning are conducted in a fashion to deliver the highest standard quality in content and that the students produced are of sound character.” “Our agency has been ensuring that indiscipline in our schools is curtailed and that our students are properly guided and focused.” “We have worked out strategies for this and our home-grown education marshals fully trained in morality enforcement will soon be deployed.” “Part of our commitment to education revolution in the state was to drastically improve the performance of our students in the various terminal examinations.” He therefore assured the state of better quality service delivery, saying poor productivity will be frowned at as appropriate measures had been put in place to champion zero tolerance for lateness and absenteeism. Politics / Buhari Is Using Economic Recession To Punish Nigerians – Fayose by Princebello: 7:40pm On Dec 04, 2016 |
Ado-Ekiti- Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele
Fayose has faulted the Federal Government
decision to effect increment in Pay As You Earn
(PAYE) tax, pension and National Housing Fund
(NHF) deductions, which were applied on gross
salary, making some of the workers to have as
much 30 per cent reduction in salary and that
as a ‘military head of state, Buhari used gun to
deal with Nigerians, bu now as a civilian
president, he is using economic recession to
punish Nigerians and adding salt to injury by
using inhuman taxes to reduce workers salary.’
He described the policy as obnoxious and
capable of impoverishing the already pauperised
workers, especially now that the country is
being pummelled by economic recession.
The governor said it was wicked and inhuman
for any government to increase taxes on
workers salary at this period of economic
recession when “workers take home can no
longer take them home,” adding that; “The
federal government should stop believing that
the only way it can take Nigeria out of
recession is to impose obnoxious taxes that will
further impoverish the people.” In a statement issued on Sunday by the governor’s Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, he said; “If government does not have capacity to increase workers salary at this trying period, it should not also increase taxes that will cause decrement in what workers earn.” Fayose Salary of federal government workers was reportedly reduced through increment in PAYE tax, pension, National Housing Fund (NHF), formerly based on consolidated, which were applied on gross salary. Some of the workers had as much as 30 per cent pay cut. Reacting, Governor Fayose said it appeared that the President Mohammadu Buhari led All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government’s desire was to kill Nigerians with obnoxious taxes. He said; “As military head of state, Buhari used gun to deal with Nigerians, now as a civilian president, he is using economic recession to punish Nigerians and adding salt to injury by using inhuman taxes to reduce workers salary. “Buhari’s government increased petrol price from N87 to N145 per litre, kerosene; diesel and gas price was increased, electricity tariff was increased, N50 stamp duty was imposed on bank customers, N65 levy was imposed on every withdrawal on ATM, various bank charges introduced, custom duties increased and now workers’ PAYE tax has been increased. “I sympathise with the federal government workers who only got to know about reduction of their salaries when they got credit alert last month, but they should remember that I warned them. “Workers are already facing hardships owing to the economic recession, which has caused exchange rate to rise to as much as N480 to $1. The implication of this is that the purchasing power of a worker that is earning say N100,000 per month has reduced to less than N50,000 per month, meaning what such a worker bought at N10,000 this time last year is now should at N25,000. “I therefore call on the federal government to reverse this decision so as to reduce the level at which the workers are suffering.” Source http://tunexclusive.com 1 Like

ABUJA-President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the Nigeria’s Super Falcons on their victory over the senior female football team of Cameroon on Saturday at the final game of the women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Yaounde. Champions: Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Saturday in Yaounde won the 2016 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) for the eighth time after beating Cameroon 1 – 0 to retain AWCON title. Foreign Affairs / Europe On Red Alert As ISIS Plans To Attack EU - Vanguard News by Princebello: 6:19pm On Dec 03, 2016 |
The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group
is likely to carry out new attacks in the
European Union in the near future, probably
targeting countries that are members of the
U.S.-led coalition fighting the extremist
organisation in Syria and Iraq, EU police agency
Europol said in a report published Friday.
“Estimates from some intelligence services
indicate several dozen people directed by ISIS
may be currently present in Europe with a
capability to commit terrorist attacks,”
according to the report, which draws on
counterterrorism intelligence from around
Europe and also cites media reports and
previously publicised calls by ISIS leaders for
attacks. The terrorist group is adept at inspiring marginalised youths, some of whom may have mental health problems, and inciting them to carry out attacks. The report also warns that tactics the group uses in Iraq and Syria, such as the use of car bombs could also be deployed in Europe. It also said that past attacks such as those in France and Belgium over the last two years show that extremists acting in the name of ISIS can effectively plan complex attacks. Both France and Belgium are among European nations that have joined the U.S.-led coalition against the terrorist group. Others include Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark; Germany’s military is also involved, but not in combat operations. Europol also notes a shift in attacks from symbolic targets like police officers and military personnel to indiscriminate attacks on soft targets, such as the Paris attacks in 2015. By Chidi Nkwopara, OWERRI.
The Federal Government has appealed to the
leadership of Academic Staff Union of
University, ASUU, to appreciate the current
economic challenges that has financially
constrained the Federal Government in meeting
its demands. President Muhammadu Buhari made the passionate appeal in a message delivered in Owerri, on his behalf, by the Minister of State for Education, Professor Anthony Anwuka, during the convocation ceremony of the institution. “As partners in progress, I plead for understanding and cooperation as the government is committed to addressing the various issues being canvassed by the Union, as we strive to right the wrongs of the past”, Buhari said. He acknowledged the anxiety and uncertainties that agitate the minds of the graduands, on what the future holds for them after graduation of the University. “The fear is further amplified with the rising unemployment coupled with the recent economic recession that has befallen our beloved country. Periods like this are opportunities for geniuses to emerge”, Buhari said. The President assured Nigerians that his administration will not renege in its promise to provide opportunities and avenues so that youths could develop their skills and creative ingenuity. In his own address, the Vice Chancellor, VC, Professor Francis Chukwuemeka Eze, declared that he would “re-engineer and transform FUTO, to a truly world class University through recruiting, nurturing and developing uniquely promising students and exceptional staff in science, engineering, technology and innovation to the benefit of mankind”. The VC disclosed that FUTO currently has 48 academic programmes in eight schools, adding that a good number of these programmes had received full accreditation, while few had interim accreditation. “The programmes with denied and interim accreditations, have been presented for the National Universities Commission, NUC, accreditation, as observed deficiencies have been rectified. In addition, we are in top preparation for the upcoming institutional accreditation and resource verifications for five newly established programmes”, Eze said Source Http://tunexclusive.com 1 Share
