An official statement from Mavin Records regarding Wande Coal's exit from the label...

It is with deep regret that we officially announce the departure of recording artist Wande Ojosipe, popularly known as Wande Coal, from Mavin Records due to irreconcilable differences.

Over the past few months, Mavin Records has made a concerted move to consolidate its position in the Nigerian music industry. Mavin has pursued a renewed ethos to raise its standards of quality and professionalism to a world-class level. Wande’s vision has not aligned with ours and a few months ago all parties mutually agreed that a separation would be the best course of action.

Legal parties on both sides have spent the past six months trying to reach an amicable solution in terms of musical property rights. However the decision by Wande Coal to release ‘Baby Face’ purportedly as his own material is a direct breach of intellectual property law and compelled an immediate clarification on our part.


Both Mavin Records and Wande Coal have enjoyed a remarkable run in the course of their working relationship. It is unfortunate that conflicting priorities contributed to the premature curtailment of a hitherto fruitful accord.

Mavin Records reaffirms its goal to constantly provide high quality music to our fans and introduce new and exciting talent into the industry.
We wish Wande Coal the best of luck in all his future endeavours.

This is an exclusive news and it is authentic. BBA winner Dillish Matthews and her Namibian best friend who also contested in BBA Maria Nepembe (pictured above) are currently in Nigeria. They came in quietly into the country a few days ago and went straight to Benin were they were hosted by Governor Adams Oshiomhole. You will recall that while in the BBA house, Dillish used to call on Gov Oshiomhole and other Nigerian rich men like Dangote to bless her with money and change her life. Well, God changed her life by making her the winner of the 2013 Big Brother Africa competition and Governor Oshiomhole, I hear, made her richer after her courtesy visit. :-)

Africa's child ambassador, eleven year old Zuriel Oduwole, the Nigerian girl making the global case for educating the continents Girl Child and in the process, re-branding Africa, has been appointed an ambassador by Tanzania's First Lady. Zuriel was in the country last week - which was her second county stop on her East African leg to launch the acclaimed Dream Up, Speak Up, Stand Up project aimed at inspiring/encouraging African girls.

On October 11th, Zuriel was in Dar Es Salaam to the attend the United Nations UNFPA event which focused on reducing the incidence of child marriage in Tanzania. After speaking at the event, she was formally invited to the office of the first lady Mrs Selma Kikwete (Zuriel pictured with the first lady above). Mrs Kikwete commended Zuriel for her leadership at such a young age, she also commended her for bringing issues of girl's education to several African leaders, then the first lady formally appointed Zuriel an ambassador for the largest foundation focused on gender issue - Wanawake na Maendeleo Foundation (WAMA) of which she's the founding patron.

Zuriel was presented with an intricate 3 foot statue of unity, the same type presented to the US president, to symbolize the effect of Zuriel's in the lives of Africa's young women. #BeInspired.

The CokoBar Music Festival took place last night Sunday 6th October 2013 at London's o2 Indigo and one of the most memorable incident of the night was when a fan (pictured above) was picked from the crowd to come on stage to flex her dancing skills to Flavour's music. The singer who is known to be a consummate dresser has continued to prove that he’s not only a good musician, but also likes to pay attention to what he wears.

Ayuba who confirmed the development during the week in a telephone interview explained that he had been working on some new projects lately, part of which was the newly launched clothing line.
The Fuji star said he decided to launch his clothing line as part of his plans to boost his corporate image around the globe and to expand his business frontiers. He also confirmed that the fashion world would soon be graced with various designs from BA events.

At the launching that was held in his office in Lagos, the new designer who will be responsible for Bonsue wears, Shegzy Fashion, said he was happy to have signed for Ayuba, saying he was looking forward to working with him.

Speaking on the new development, Ayuba said “We decided to sign Shegzy fashion because he has proved over the years that he has a very good understanding about the job and I am particularly moved by his sheer dint of hard work.
