Jasen1:
Just last night he said it was only 1 Astor that was kidnapped today they've rescued him

What of the rest people that was kidnapped with him

READ the emboldened.

Naijaalive:
The Ogun state police command has confirmed that one of the kidnap victims, Mrs Ibelegbo Chidinma who incidentally is the only woman amongst them, has been rescued unhurt.

The woman who is a Deaconess of The Redeem Christian church of God regained her freedom
in the early hour of today 3rd of August 2019 and she is currently at the command’s headquarters in Abeokuta where arrangement is being made to take her to the Redemption Camp.

A deaconess is not a pastor. Others could be deacons, evangelists, etc.

It's not a dislike, It's a matter of preference. What has insecurity got to do with it? Competition, how?
It's just like saying you prefer blue colour to red colour. It doesn't mean you dislike red. But, given an option, that you will simply go for blue colour before red colour. And that has nothing to do with insecurity or competition.
I hope you get my point now?

I get your point. If you were dark and love light skin babies, would you still prefer a dark complexioned man?

I think the preference for dark skin is also a result of the fact that many Nigerian girls are light complexioned (both natural and artificial/toning/bleaching). It is very rare to see a dark complexioned lady in the midst of team dark skin guys.

Because fair complexioned baby (especially a girl child) seems finer. And as for white guys, we all know mixed-race kids are finer. The same way we all adore chubby babies and don't find chubby adults attractive.
I don't know if you get my point. It's just the way it is.

Well I don't think it is logical to dislike fair complexioned adults and adore fair complexioned babies. It shows the dislikes for fair complexioned adult males are not very genuine. It reflect insecurity, competition, esteem issues.

Which Naija ladies are you talking about? I personally cherish very dark skin guys. So are all most ladies I know. Ask most Nigerian girls to choose between dark and fair complexioned guys and see them choosing dark guys.

So why do women love fair complexioned babies and white men? Any idea?

Wrong! I don't like fair guys at all. Never been attracted to them. And that's not because i am dark.
I have lots of fair friends who also prefer dark skinned guys.
Light skinned guys often just seem unfinished to me.

but you will jump at a white man from Germany, US or UK?

When the rent is small, agency and legsl is doubled.

Same thing we have been trying to explain. No agent in Lagos will accept agency fee of N10k on a N100,000/annum apartment. Agents only remember 10% when rent is high, e.g. N600k, N1m, etc.

You mean in Akute/Ajuwon axis, Agency and Legal fees are arbitrary? Based on the client's power of negotiation? Damn!

Yes, based on my experience in that axis and some places I've been to on the mainland (including Ikeja, Berger, Ojodu, Ogba, Isheri, Magodo, Ketu and Omole).

A typical small office space of N400k in Ogba for example attracts additional N100-120k (40k each as agreement and agency fees and 20k caution fee)

You're right about the location. But saying it's IMPOSSIBLE to get a good place with 200k, I have seen many. The challenge I have is that I have only up to 15th if August to leave this present place, that's why I'm kinda in a hurry

Oh well, I would advise you search further. 2 weeks is enough to get an alternative.
Family / Re: Should I Pay For This Apartment? by project4OO: 8:03pm On Jul 31, 2019
LewsTherin:

The issue is not the rent value. The issue is the other fees attached that do not follow regular practice. Or are you saying agency and legal fees are now arbitrarily set?

If she is being asked to pay more due because she is being charged for more than one year, that is a different thing. But to fix a random price because there are "two agents"? No. That is being scammed.

I understand your view but how do you define a non-negotiable and regular practice by all agents and landlords in a locality/community?
Family / Re: Should I Pay For This Apartment? by project4OO: 6:07pm On Jul 31, 2019
cheenway:

She wants to evacuate the soak away and fix the light. That's why I asked if it is worth it. Do other landlords do this?

Let's make a quick guess. You're trying to get a 2 bedroom apartment precisely in Akute/Ajuwon axis (near Ojodu Berger)??

If the above is true, please increase your budget or reduce the number of rooms from 2 to 1. You cannot get any decent 2-bed apartment in that axis @N200,000. It is IMPOSSIBLE. Best you can get is a highly problematic and dilapidated structure.

As per the agency/agreement fee, you're not being scammed.
Family / Re: Should I Pay For This Apartment? by project4OO: 5:58pm On Jul 31, 2019
LewsTherin:

You are already being scammed. Agency and Legal is 10 percent each. Where did the 50k (later negotiated) come from?

If you stand on this ground, you won't get any apartment in Lagos Mainland and other parts of Lagos where rents are below 400k.

She's not being scammed.

Business / Re: Honeywell Flour’s Profit Falls To N68m From N4.4bn by project4OO: 6:32am On Jun 29, 2019
I think there's more to the decline than traffic gridlock in that axis. Other FMCGs such as GSK, Unilever, Nestle, etc also suffered significant decline in earnings due to traffic gridlock which of course, increased cost of sales and distribution cost, but 98% decline is too much and worrisome.

Well, the government needs to look into this issue, we are so tired of reading the same news about Apapa year in year out. A decline in profit means decreased tax, slim revenue, and more debt perhaps.
