That contributes to the low engine temperature

It's ML 350 2005 model. It's the follow-come thermostat that was removed last week. It stays between 65 & 75, and at times comes as low as 60. The engine fan works continuously, but the radiator fan works only wen the temperature rises up to 80, or if I'm using AC.

The situation is exactly the same with my other one which is the C Class. Stays between 70 & 80 after I changed the thermostat three years ago. But I never bothered, because I never knew the recommended operating temperature until I got this M class last year.

I think they sell lower rating of thermostat in Nigeria, maybe due to our hot weather.

Car Talk / Please Advise Me On Thermostat by Provie(m): 8:52am On Sep 17, 2021
Good morning all.

My car is not reaching the recommended operating temperature. It hovers between 65 and 75 deg. Celsius. It only gets to up to 80 when I sit long in the traffic, but hardly goes beyond 80 no matter the external temperature. I even use the AC 90% of the time.

The manual says the normal operating temperature should be between 85 and 105 deg. Celsius. I changed the thermostat last week, and the only difference was that it doesn't go below 70 anymore, but still would not reach 80 easily.

The point is that the mechanics would readily tell you that even 20 is normal as long as the car is not overheating, that you should even count yourself lucky. Which is why many would prefer to remove the thermostat entirely.

But I have studied operating temperatures and the effect of low temperature on the engine (wear) and fuel economy. I use oil specification of 5w30.

I just stumbled onto the claim that thermostats have rating, that is, some maintains a temp of 70, others 75, 80, 90, etc.

Please I need the gurus in the house to advise me. Should I continue to drive the car as it is?

As we bury T.B Joshua today, we must not bury some of the Christ-like virtues that made him outstanding.

I kept thinking throughout the night – was this how Jesus came, performed miracles, fed the poor, healed the sick and did other good works, but the people despised, hated and killed him? I am not equating any man to Jesus, but T.B Joshua demonstrated more Christ-like virtues than many “God’s Chief Registrars, Chiefs of Staff to Jesus, Assistant God, Deputy God” parading our pulpits today as “masters of the universe”.

They told us how ‘evil’ he was, but were silent on his matrimonial success. He had just one wife and they were married for 31 years… This is Christ-like.

They told us how ‘evil’ he was, but were silent when he fed the poor, built hospitals and schools, responded to humanitarian needs on our streets… This is Christ-like.

They told us how ‘evil’ he was, but kept mute on his humility to board the same coastal bus with his team to go for outreaches. This is Christ-like because even Jesus Christ boarded the same boat with his disciples.

They told us how ‘evil’ he was but kept silent when he brought peace to South Sudan. He was a peacemaker. “Blessed are the Peacemakers…”. This is Chris-like.

Not until his death did I know his wife and even children because he never projected his family. His life and preachings projected Christ more than anything else.

He was Christ-like more than many of his critics whose followers know the “Man of God” than they know the God of men. Whose followers know their ‘father in the Lord’ than they know Christ.

People of the World, please show me one T.B Joshua’s enemy. The same people calling him fake have fellow brethren they call enemies. The same people calling him false prophet have fellow ‘genuine’ pastors that they are not in talking terms with. The same people calling him ‘evil’ have fellow Christians they wish death upon… Between these people and T.B Joshua, who is more like Christ?

If Prophet T.B Joshua was ‘evil’ and he healed the sick in the name of Jesus, fed the poor, built hospitals, schools and houses for the needy, brought peace to nations of the earth, then I like his kind of ‘evil.’

Rest in Peace Prophet T.B Joshua!

The spark is from the fuse board,I guess.if there's any slack among the fuse,it results to sparks and drains the battery quick. The battery wouldn't drain during the day because while driving the alternator keeps the battery charging even when there's a leakage on the circuits. But the moment you switch of your engine the current leaks faster due to spark & slack of one the fuse.

Thank you very much for this important point. I'll run checks along that line.

Car Talk / My Car Drains Battery Overnight by Provie(m): 5:35am On Mar 24, 2021
Gurus in the house please help!

My 2005 ML350 drains battery overnight (occasionally thought). I suspected the radio/cassette player and did power it off through the power knob before turning off the ignition. The situation continued. But I noticed that the radio remains connected and running, because eacth time I power it On, the tracks and memory picks up exactly where it left off and all the settings remained the same.

Why I suspect the radio system is that same thing happened with my C220 two months ago, my electrician tried everything without success, even changing the diode of the alternator. I only learnt from him that if the battery end is giving out high sparks when the car is turned off, then something is ON and draining the battery.

Hence I made a habit of removing the detachable control panel of the cassete player at the end of each day: the spark thinned and the issue became resolved till date.

The battery end of the ML sparks very significantly. I do not know how to completly shut down the cassette on it as it were. The control panel is not detachable. I don't want them to mess up with the entire system as usual.

How do I resolve this issue? I appreciate your advice.

1. Scientists are more important than pastors. We need more doctors than Men of God (MOGs).

2. We live in connected world, what affects China affects Nigeria, Belgium, Ghana etc..... We should be our brothers keeper.

3. The most important thing in life is life itself and the most important people is family.

4. Cooking skill is a survival skill.

5. Health care budget is more important than defense budget.

6. Biological weapons are more potent than military missiles

7. The border should be the human body not country borders. We should stop the virus from getting into man not man from getting into our borders.

8. Many pastors are more concerned about tithes and offering than salvation.

9. A lot of things can wait, church, jumat service, weddings, birthday, board meeting, etc.

10. African govt need to invest in the basics - education, healthcare, database, electricity, internet, refuse disposal, food, security etc

11. The world has abundant supply of stupid people across borders

At least we should be briefed by a well known doctor on what they are going through, the dangers health workers are passing through in attending to this large numbers of allegedly infected people,And what they need in order to perform their duties.
2)Why is it that no single clip or pics of this covid-19 patients on sick beds or ICU beds has surfaced on the media space in Nigeria, the way we see it on CNN and other foreign media instead of showing us chats of yellow green and red.
3)Where are the dead covid-19 patients buried? And. Why don't they show their remains been moved from the hospital like we see in other countries that really have this covid-19.
4)Why do some states have the same figure of infected people for more than a week now?does it mean that the first case didn't interact with anyone at all.?
5)Why haven't we heard of a single health worker been infected yet in Nigeria with our weak health care system and insufficient protective kits,or is it not the health workers taking care of the large figures of infected people?

Not true though, these can be deleted and some cars have more than others, these cat converters are put in there cos of govt regulation to cut emissions not for car efficiency!

You are right. As a matter of fact it increases fuel consumption by increase in drag. The car runs faster without it, just dat the exhaust is noisier (sounds less muffled). The essence is just emission control. So in Nigeria where emissions and pollutants are everywhere, dat is non issue. In some countries, it's a crime to drive a car without cat, cos of emissions.

Health / Re: Constipation: How Do I Treat This Long Term Disease Naturally? Please, Urgent! by Provie(m): 5:44pm On Aug 12, 2019
TerryMcGinis:
Am 26+, male and have been suffering from constipation for a long time now, since 2007/08 if I remember correctly, it started as mild constipation, but then it started getting worse.

I'd go for days, 4/5 before I would be able to go to the loo...and even when I finally go, I don't get to empty my bowel completely, its just little that comes out, my stomach is always bloated, even when I haven't eaten, p.s I used to have a flat tummy. But nowadays my tummy is always swollen. After managing to go to toilet, I still feel the need to go, because I just pass out very small quantity of faeces no matter how much I eat, and how much I strain to push them out, it doesn't change.
I've tried incorporating fruits and I drink lots of water, I drink two satchet of water or more sometimes, I've reduced fried meals still no change.

I believe I'm suffering this ailment because as a teen I was always fond of indulging in late night meals, heavy meals like especially beans and bread, and my theory is that I've over worked my stomach, and upset the balance, I'm really suffering, as I type I'm not at ease at all...I'm always hearing noise in my stomach, lest I forget, I have been experiencing symptoms of ulcer for four to five years now.

Practitioners in the house I need your help on how to clean my colon of old faeces stuck inside my intestines, so I can be free, and feel light again, its impossible for me to lose weight because of it, when I don't eat well, I would get constipated for long term. And when I visit the loo, I would pass out very tiny stuff.

Please help a brother if you know anybody that has experienced this before and found a solution to it. God bless you all.

Front page pls: mods. I beg you in the name of God.

I stumbled on ur post and I smiled, remembering my own experience. I recalled wat I passed through for about ten years. Let me not tell long stories here, or how many tests I did over the years. The only difference is dat my constipation never stretched as long as urs. Is ur gas (fart) smelly; cos mine was so bad I even avoided public. Drugs? Omeprazole in packets; cimetidine in packets, Clarithromycin in phases; gelucil in packets, Ulsakit.... For many years.

Bros, just use garlic and onions. About five cloves daily, chopped into pieces and swallowed with water once daily. Then use raw onion slices to garnish ur plate of rice, like every other day. Then always sleep with ur pillow to avoid acid reflux. It will work for you as it worked for me. Take ur green tea, or lime/lemon juice; it will completely prevent ur body from exuding garlic/onion odour. God bless you.

that is why U also hear some ppl talk abt straight pipe exhaust and these ones r much more "noisy" like the sport cars...

Lolz @ straight pipe. I hope you don't mean the one they removed the catalyst. Cos it sounds like dat, and runs faster. I'm not a car expert though, but that is what I noticed.

Pleaase how is car still running, a panel beater give me the same condition. Said he can reconstruct my catalyst converter

It's the rear pot bros. The catalytic converter is usually on the second (smaller) pot at the anterior. Dat was several years ago, yet the car has been running fine still.

I doubt if they reconstruct the catalyst. They just remove it and stuff the pot or leave it like dat, and the car will sound more hollow. If ur car has no issues, don't allow them to touch ur catalyst.

She wasn't d one driving. She was with her dad & mum in d car; at d back. I pulled up & rushed to them as dey managed to exit d vehicle. Thank God no one was hurt.

Nigerians do things without planning. On 24th December, right at the peak of traffic, people were doing road bumps on a major high way; no red flags (caution signs). Dat was what caused the accident. And if you check well, there could be worse of such incidents from what I saw them doing on dat road at midmorning yesterday.

Thank God for their lives.

BlackManta:
I blame the coach 100%.

He got everything wrong. From formation to team selection.

1. He benched Iheanacho and started a lacklustre Ighalo.
Ighalo is slow and lacks composure. His decision making in the final third is wack.
He was very wasteful.

I dont need to talk too much about Nacho.
Everybody saw the impact he made and he made his presence felt within the few minutes he played.

2. Playing Iwobi on the wing.
A costly mistake. Iwobi is not a winger. He's an attacking midfielder. A no 10.
Why play Iwobi on the wing when you got a natural winger like Musa

3. Playing Mikel as a no 10.
Mikel is not an attacking midfielder. The no 10 spot belongs to Iwobi.
Mikel was slow and lacklustre.
He was one of the worst players on the pitch.
He should have played his natural position as a CDM or rather sit on the bench.
Mikel was the worst mid fielder on the pitch.
Etebo and Ndidi played better than him.
So much for being a captain huh

4. Benching Tyronne Ebuehi.
Tyronne is our best right back. He got pace. He can attack well and with his speed, he can quickly back track when Croatia start a counter or those annoying long balls.
Shehu was slow.
Moses had to back track and play wing back just to cover Shehu's ass.
Croatia targeted Shehu's wing many times.
Modric was always crossing long balls to the right wing and Perisic always gets the ball leaving Shehu on the back foot.
Next time play Ebuehi and bench Shehu.

6. Set Peice.

Nigeria is weak at set peice.
Our first goal was conceded from a set peice and the second goal (a penalty) was conceded after Croatia took a another set peice.

This is not the first time Nigeria is conceeding from set peice.
They did it against England.
Nigeria should work at defending set peices.
It is their major weak spot.

7. Lack of pace.
Our players are slow.
Ighalo is slow as a snail.
Moses was back tracking to cover Shehu's ass.
Iwobi played out of position.
There is ZERO pace in that team.
Our pacey players like Ebuehi and Musa were on the bench and that constributed to our failure as there was no one to inject speed to the attack.

Now someone should ensure that this piece gets to coach Rohr.

Engine vibration is quite uncomfortable and can be scary at some point. There are quite a number of things that cause the engine to vibrate. It can be mild or rigorous vibration.

5. Faulty or Poorly Adjusted Fuel Intake System:
When the fuel intake system is faulty, the required amount of fuel needed by the car does not go to the engine, hence, the engine is starved. This can cause the engine to vibrate.

If I turn on the Ac, it kicks in with the fan speed at 4. But then it will be blowing warm air until I put the fan at 2 or even 1 (lowest); then it will begin to chill.

At times it happens dat with the Fan at 4, the compressor will be turning with a hitch, at other times it will be turning freely (ie normally) but in any case it doesn't chill until I use lower button as earlier explained.

The problem started few months ago after the dashboard was removed in order to change the evaporator.

Please what could the issue be? Could the electrician have messed up some connections?

The north are very friendly unlike how the media tend them to be in bad light.

The experience of serving in the north is far better than the south.

Ask any one that served in the north.

Nothing sweeter than that.

You ar very correct. I landed there (after two days journey inclusive of 20mins ride on a wooden canoe across a "boundless" river); I cried for one full week; quite unusual for a man.

But those people are very friendly, and ten years after my NYSC, I'm still in contact with the natives. Sincerely speaking, I feel very nostalgic about my relationship with them, so much that I've promised them a visit. And I hope to do so in the coming days.
