Dear Team,
Greetings ,
Please how do i go about with Police clearance?
What step should i take ?
Response is needed.

Depends on where you are. In Lagos, you have to go to Police station in Alagbon and you should find someone to do it for you there.

Or you can connect with Inspector Moshood: +234 803 474 7802

I haven't done mine yet, grin... so when you do yours let me know how it goes

Please, how did you pay on the acro police website? A friend has tried with her two Nigerian naira cards and even her Nigerian dollar cards, they all show failed transaction.

Finally just corrected mine - I was able to pay with my GTB Mastercard. Has she tried that?

if you didn’t pay am sorry your application isn’t processing. They payment secures it. I suggest you send them an email or look at refilling the form again

Actually figured it out - I made a subject access request as opposed to PC. Thank you so much for calling it out! smiley

Mmm okay, I got this email as per attached though. Does it still look funny? Lol

I actually also tried refilling the form and I didn’t get to the payment part - maybe I wasn’t doing something right? At what point is payment requested please.

It’s BC. That’s why I’m confused, because I thought there would be details that it’s been changed or not

Perhaps they have changed their ways of working? I got my EOR from BC back earlier in September, and I didn’t find out the result until I got there physically to pick up.

Hello everyone. Pls those who have applied for EOR does this mean the scores were changed?? Pls help a sister out.

The email doesn’t really specify if your result has changed or not. You’d really only find out when you open that “brown” envelope at the office. All the best, rooting for you!

It's actually weird because I didn't have to pay anything on the website, even I was shocked. I wonder if I did something wrong. But I got sent an email that my request is processing so I was wondering if I'd need to make payment once the report is done.

Maybe she should email them asking for an alternative option to make payment? Has she tried that?

Any one else have similar experience?

Congratulations!!! You really had angels following you on the journey. Enjoy Canada, we are coming grin

Hello People long time no talk. Landing gist below:
So PPR came July 25th after 9months! *side eye*IRCC but we thank God sha. Booked lufthansa for 15th september (landed 16th sept, my birthday so to say i started this journey on a new note ehn). Journey started from eko ile around 5:30pm with plenty entourage my parents and in laws, traveled with my husband and one infant. Had 5 bags, one hand luggage, backpack, car seat and baby stroller. I thought lufthansa will give hassle with the car seat and stroller cos their site said either or, just wanted to try my luck sha, they actually accepted both. Before i continue, 3days earlier we weighed and reweighed luggage and decided it wont make sense to pay for extra luggage (lufthansa charged CAD$300, smh) so we went to cargo paid about 175k for 141kg and issued receipt for N23K (which way naija?).

Any helpers here?

Pwinkle1:
Dear Seniors lol. I have a quick question please.

At the start of my career, I started of as a management trainee where I basically did 3/4 different rotations in various departments - HR, business development, strategy and then Brand Management.

The longest and the last was the brand management rotation.

I’m thinking of claiming NOC 1124 because that’s the current field I’ve been working in.

Any thoughts?

For perspective:

Mgt trainee: Oct 12 2015 - Oct 31 2016
Job 1 (NOC 1124): Nov 2016 - June 2017
Job 2 (NOC 1124): July 2017 - Jan 2018
Job 3 (NOC 1124): Jan 2018 till date

Will I have any challenges?

Newww:
PPR announcement. Silent reader here.

I learnt a lot from this forum and it's only fair to give back in the way I can. My pre-ITA journey was very smooth. Wrote IELTS once, evaluated only masters degree with WES (and did not require WAEC). I got ITA the day after i entered the pool. I also had a valid TRV so i was sure i would get PPR in 3 months maximum. Lo and behold it was not to be (it took 11 months). Below is my timeline;

Family of 2
VO: Ottawa
AOR: 26 Oct 2018
Biometrics Passed: 27 Nov 2018
RPRF: 27 Dec 2018

Silence

ADR: 11 April 2019 (supplementary info and CV for spouse)
Security screening: started 15 April 2019
ADR: 30 Aug 2019 (remedical, my 1st medical was to expire Nov, 1st)
Medicals done at IOM 16 Sept 2019
Medical Passed: 22 Sept 2019
PPR: 23 Sept 2019

Congratulations!! What is TRV please?

Please does bolded mean that for PA and accompanying spouse it'll be 2100 CAD to be paid. I'm just trying to be sure. Can you please clarify this for me? Thanks so much.

Yes, that’s what it means

Please do not book for medicals yet. I pray that you will receive your ITA soon, but wait for it before trying to work on medicals. If possible schedule your appointment close to the date you hope to submit your final application. I stand to be corrected, I don't know much but it's the little I've learnt about medicals. God bless

Okay thank you, another quick question lol. Does pregnancy affect medicals in a negative way?

Shybae:
Hi all,
I know you've all come a long way & I'm just starting out trying to apply.
I'm 32, female, married, 2kids, I understand I will be P.A cos hubby is 38. We both working, both have MSc

Would like to know,
1.) Must hubby do IELTS too?
2.) We want to use WES to evaluate our credentials, is it better? If not which can we use?
3.) Pls can someone help me with the steps?

Any other important info will be highly appreciated.
Pls don't pass by. Thanks.

Here you go:
Step 1: Take IELTS and attain CLB 9 (viz: band score of 8777 in LRWS)

CLB 9 gives candidates additional language points boost of 50–60 points. If you are able to reach the score of 440+ without CLB 9, that is fine too.

Cost - 75000 for British council and 68,000 for IDP/MOD every time you take IELTS.

Step 2: Get your ECA done (6–8 weeks)

ECA is Education Credential Assessment. It is done by multiple organisations (WES is one of them) and provides you the Canadian equivalent degree assessment of your native country education.

Cost - Approx 285 CAD. (220 CAD Fee + 85 CAD International Delivery for WES report)

Step 3: Create EE profile on CIC website with your attained IELTS score and ECA

Making a profile enters you in the pool of candidates waiting for the ITA (Invitation to Apply). Make sure all the information mentioned in the profile is accurate as you will be asked to provide proof of all that information once you are selected.

Cost - 0

Step 4: Wait for the draw to reach your score and receive ITA afterwards

The ROI (Rounds of Invitation) happens every 2 weeks. The Canadian govt declares the min cut off score of the EE profile and all the candidates having that score or score more than it will get ITA. The score varies and is tweaked to meet the usual 3500–3500 applicants quota per ROI.

Cost - 0

Step 5: Post ITA, you get 2 months to submit your documents

After candidates receive ITA, they are supposed to provide documents and proofs of all the information mentioned in their profile along with few others. The documents/information needed from the candidates are:

Scan of Travel Document (Passport) of all applicants and visa stamp pages
Digital Photograph of all applicants
Proof of Employment of primary applicant
Proof of Funds of primary applicant
Proof of Medical of all applicants
Proof of Education & IELTS as applicable
Police Clearance Certificate (From all countries where you have resided for 6 months or more) of all applicants
Cost varies as Medical cost, PCC fees, Notarization fees etc varies as per the country. Ideally, all expenses should be covered within 300–350 CAD per applicant.
Police certificate in Nigeria: https://www.gateway.ng/Nigeria-Police-Report

Step 6: Submit documents, pay Immigration Fee and wait for the PPR (PassPort Request - For stamping)

After submitting the documents and paying the Immigration fees, the Canadian Immigration officers verify the documents and information provided. This generally takes 2–6 months depending on the application type, countries a person has resided in and most importantly, the immigration visa office where the application has been sent for processing and how much applications' backlog is there.

visa office processing time is usually 6 months, though it could take less time to process and verify the submitted documents, sometimes even more!

Cost - 1050 CAD x No. of Applicants in the application for PA and spouse and $150 per child

Step 7: PPR received. Submit Passport and get Canada CoPR (Confirmation of PR)

Once the documents are verified, candidates are intimated about the result of their application via mail. On successful processing, candidates are required to submit the passports of all the applicants for the Visa Stamping and CoPR. Passport is being sent by VFS Global and would cost around 30 CAD per passport. The stamped passport is returned to the designated address within 2 weeks along with 2 copies of CoPR.

Cost - Approx 30 CAD x No. of Applicants

Step 8: Reach Canada on CoPR and apply for PR card

Applicants are supposed to travel to Canada within the tenure mentioned on the stamped visa. The tenure is generally till the time passport is valid or till medical proof is valid, whichever is earlier. In any case, visa will not be for more than 1 year.

Applicants are supposed to plan their travel, temporary or permanent migration, to Canada within the Visa timelines and submit one copy of CoPR at the time of landing. The other copy is stamped and returned.

Submitting CoPR means that Candidates have successfully landed in Canada and this in turn initiates the PR

card application for each applicant.

Cost - Travel Cost of each applicant

Step 9: Receive PR card (2–3 months)

Official PR Card processing time is 62–65 days and the PR card will be couriered to the address given by the applicants at the time of their landing. The address has to be a Canadian address.

PR Card will be delivered to the address within 50–80 days. In case you have performed soft landing (temporary migration) just to fulfill the landing formalities before the Visa expires, you can request any friend coming to your native country to bring along your PR card or you can apply for PR travel document from your home country next time you want to go to canada without having PR card.

PR cards are not couriered outside Canada and have to be delivered in person in such scenarios.

Step 10: You are Canadian PR. Enjoy!

Once you have your PR card, you are officially a Canadian PR. Have fun!

PR card is provided with validity of 5 years. A person is suppose to live in Canada for 730 days in consecutive 5 years to continue his/her PR card for next 5 years after the expiry.

If a person has stayed in Canada for more than 1095 days in consecutive 5 years, he/she is eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship.

Some Acronyms Frequently Used in this post & during Visa Processing:

CLB - Canadian Language Benchmark
ECA - Education Credential Assessment
EE - Express Entry
ROI - Round of Invitations
ITA - Invitation to Apply
CoPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residency
PPR - Passport Request
PR - Permanent Resident (Residency)

All the best!

Hello everyone,

I’ve got a quick question.

Although I haven’t gotten ITA yet, I’m expecting it end October as my husband is to write ielts on October 12.

I already want to book an appointment for my medical, what is the best way to go about it?

Call, email or physically go there?

I’ll appreciate your recommendations based on experience. Thank you
