Jyde1234: For the wrong input stuff it may be an issue with your name For example, my surname is double barreled and has an hyphen. For a while I got a wrong input message no matter the combination. I decided to just split the surname into two by using a space instead of the hyphen and voila! It worked. Also double check your vfs tracking number as well. Also I have added the UPS stuff with steps that may help

talentarena: Nah Gee, it is not a compulsory requirement. I just threw in my SA police clearance certificate for good measure. It is possible to do it (the one from the Nigerian Police) by proxy, if you have a contact at Alagbon. They will most likely send you the form and depending on where you are - you will be required to take the finger prints yourself (with the help of someone), if you are in a foreign country at a local police station or you can buy the ink stuff they use and do it (DIY style). You then scan it to your contact at Alagbon with whatever extra detail they may require. It most likely won't take a day to get it. The next step is to arrange for it's collection and delivery to you. |

Donbaba123: Hey bro, mine as well, till I received it was still saying sent to the french embassy (even now). What I did was, I called VFS this morning and enquired about my passport. I told them my host institution informed me that my passport was picked up from the embassy and sent to them on Tuesday this week. They asked for my tracking number and tracked it. They said it's been sent to Port Harcourt. I then googled the UPS number in Port Harcourt. I called them and they said it was with the dispatch rider. I got his number and called the not so enthusiastic rider and insisted that I get it today. That was how I received it in the afternoon. My advice is: Check your document and use the tracking number to track it. If possible, add your number and email to the UPS tracking site to get updates (you will get the most detailed one via this method). If what played out today is any indication of how things work, then VFS takes forever to update and you may have to do some things yourself and add pressure if you want your passport. Hope this helps and sorry about the long winded response. |

For anyone who has been to France recently, is the covid test still required for fully vaccinated travellers? Also, is the booster shot requirement enforced and is it true that it is to be taken nine months after the last covid vaccine shot? |

talentarena: Hey bro, When I applied via VFS Abuja the only option when paying was the Long Stay/Short Stay visa (sort of a catch-all category), however, on the France Visas site I chose the short-stay visa; the plan is study and purpose, student/examination entry I did not use a cover letter since it was not one of the requirements |

Hi everyone, I applied for my short stay study visa last week Tuesday and got an update on Friday that it's with the embassy. Today, my host University called the embassy and they said my passport was picked up yesterday but I am yet to get any update from vfs abuja (via email or text). I paid for courier as well and I am to travel to France this Sunday. Do you think my passport will get to me on time? For those who have applied in the past, how long did it take to get your visa couriered from Abuja to you in states such as Rivers State? I will also try calling vfs tomorrow, hopefully they will be willing to courier it on time. Thank you for your help |

pufframmy: Yeah the site is quite problematic. It gives error messages quite often and if you're unlucky you may have issues upon payment. Just try using a PC and your browser should preferably be chrome- use the incognito mode, it may help (at least it helped in mine). |

Hi everybody, Thank you so much for this insightful thread, your contributions have been helpful. Please I have an issue and I want to know your thoughts on it. I tried booking an appointment on the France VFS site for Abuja. I luckily saw a spot for the 20th open and I proceeded to pay for it, unfortunately I had issues with payments. I was finally able to get it paid via the bank transfer option and received confirmation that it was successful. Immediately the success email came in, an error message showed on the website and I refreshed to no avail. I then received an email from the payment portal stating vfs has received my payment and it was successfully carried out. The problem is, I did not receive any email from vfs confirming my booking. I have tried reaching them via the helpline to no avail. I also popped them an email. My question is, do I rebook, wait for their response or go to their office? I am currently in Port Harcourt and this has been a very distressing morning. Thank you and sorry about the long/convoluted read. |

Hello guys, I need some help on the issue of police clearance. I applied for the Nigerian Police Clearance three months ago, unfortunately, due to the three-month expiry date for PC certificates issued in Nigeria, it has expired. However, the SA rule for police clearance states they accept police clearances issued under 6 months from the date of application. This is on the study visa application list of requirements. My question is, do I reapply for a new Nigerian police clearance or use my three-month-old police clearance (expired in Nigeria according to our police rules but valid according to the rules I saw on the SA study visa application document)? Is it worth the risk? Thank you |

Hi everyone, I have been following the e-visa thread and would love to know if it applies to students as well. Due to the closure of the vfs offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt, can we apply for study visas online too? I saw study visa as one of the choices on the e visa platform so I am confused. Please help me out with clarifications and guidance. Thank you |
