Apart from the United States practicing law after an LLM degree in the countries you've outlined is not straight. Even in the US it will depend on your programme, some programmes allow you to take bar courses so you can take the bar exams. You can also further your studies with a PhD and become apart of the faculty as an assistant professor. 1 Like |

As an introvert, i've realised i detest small talk however i can be a talkative when i'm in the mood and build rapport. But generally people who aint close to me view me as extremely quiet. I don't like following people and i'm very selective when making friends. I've got a few followers though, well they say i make them happy. I sense people feel very comfortable around me prolly because of my average joe look. 2 Likes |

Health / Happiness Is An Inside Job by Quaco(m): 4:18pm On Jul 30, 2018 |
No matter what happens in your life, where you go, or whom you encounter, the common denominator is always YOU. It may seem that the outside world has a big influence on your happiness, but the fact is that there are blissful people living in abject poverty, and miserable wrecks living in penthouse apartments with all the material comforts the world can offer. This goes to show that happiness truly is an inside job. Here are 3 simple tips to help you shift your perspective and move toward happiness at a moment's notice: 1. Eliminate Negative Self-Talk Our thoughts seem to have a mind of their own, and if we are not monitoring them, they can take us down a dark and dreary path. And before we know it, we are feeling bad about ourselves and life in general. Notice what your self-talk is saying to you. Is it condemning or criticizing you? Or is it building you up and encouraging you? More often than not, it is the former. By simply catching the negative voice and reframing it to a positive one, you can get back on track to happiness. 2. Openly Express Gratitude When you speak your appreciation, you not only improve your disposition, but you will improve someone else's as well. And when you're surrounded by people filled with gratitude, the world is a lot more fun...and it only gets better. 3. Go to Your Happy Place Meditation and visualization have been proven over and over again to stimulate the parts of the brain that govern mood and improve overall human performance. Take a mini-vacation by closing your eyes, taking several deep breaths and imagining that you're on a sunny beach or near a mountain stream. Stay there for 2-5 minutes, then open your eyes. There's enough misery in the world. Do your part to tip the scales toward love, acceptance and true contentment, and you'll be happy no matter where you are. Have A Magnificent Week! |

Seahawk: Insulting me only exposes who you are. I'm not a Nigerian but i took time to research your law. ''Defilement simply means to violate someone’s chastity. The offence of defilement involved a girl under 13 while rape affects a female at or above 13. It is a well laid down position of the law that a child below 13 cannot be raped.'' I can see your lay mind cannot comprehend how someone can forcefully have sex with an 11yr old and someone is saying it's not rape. Rape is having natural carnal knowledge (sex) with a girl without her consent. Unfortunatey per the Nigerian Criminal code any girl below the age of 13 cannot consent to sex so such as person cannot be raped but defiled because her chastity has been violated So unless you're not a Nigerian and come from another jurisdiction where an 11yr old can be raped keep quiet and learn. You're only disgracing yourself. I have still taken time to get you a research on the law of defilement and rape in Nigeria. Do well to read it, because ignorance of the law is no excuse. Seahawk:It's obvious you know nothing about the law. An evelen year old cannot be raped but delifed. It is the law, i didn't make it. And if you want to know defilement has a stiffer sentence than rape. I read today online per Nigeria's criminal code it's life imprisonment. Yet to verify that though. |
Crime / Re: Man Rapes And Injures A 7-year-old Girl In Katsina State by Quaco(m): 11:56am On May 02, 2018 |
I just saw this online the criminal code (Applicable in all Sourthern States) stipulates that ‘’Any person who has unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under13 is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for life, with or without whipping. Any person who attempts to have unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 13 years is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for 14 years, with or without whipping. A prosecution for either of these offences must begin within two months after the offence is committed. A person cannot be convicted of either of the offences upon uncorroborated testimony of a witness. Defilement simply means to violate someone’s chastity. The offence of defilement involved a girl under 13 while rape affects a female at or above 13. It is a well laid down position of the law that a child below 13 cannot be raped. Has the law changed? Don't know much about it's validity though. But if it's for real, then some people are definitely sick because the cases keep increasing and to think life imprisonment does not scare people. |
Romance / Re: "Married Ladies, Fellow Married Women Are The Sidechic Not Young Girls" - Lady by Quaco(m): 10:32am On May 02, 2018 |
I read of a story which was ananymously share by a cheating wife. She said she was in clandestine relationship with a long time married friend. This woman believed the married man she was seeing was her soul mate, funny enough she was the same person who introduced the man to his wife. They even went as far as buying a house together and meet often with the excuse of business trip to enjoy their amorous affair. They both have children and do not plan on getting divorce to their respective spouse. I've come across several of such stories but the one which ruffled me was about a lady who said she had been married for only two months but was already in an emotional relationship with another guy. She felt her husband was the only one enjoying and benefiting from the marriage. Don't know how long she had been chatting with the other guy who was living abroad but she had plan on going to join him without her husbands knowledge. She didnt plan on even leaving a note for the hubby. I wonder if she succeded with her plans because it was supposed to have happened in April this year. 1 Like |

dominique: Prison can be any form of confinement like rehabilitation, the only difference is no criminal record. Would have said he should be prosecuted by a competent court but doubt being a paedophile is a defence to mental disorder as the perpetrator will be aware of what he was doing, only might struggle to control his urges but has full knowledge of his action which could even be premeditated. So he'd definitely be sentenced to jail for defilement and miss the opportunity to get the needed treatment. |

SAMBARRY: He should be instutionalised in a rehabilitation center. Jail is not always the solution to the problem. He will get the help he needs and return to society as a better man. 1 Like |

dominique: I'd rather have them institutionalised in a rehabilitation center. They are sick in the head (mental disorder) and need treatment. You take them to jail, they will be back and their next victim might be someone you know. I don't know if you're familiar with the term recidivism, you can look it up. |

Daeylar: Last i checked there was nothing wrong with being rational. Some of us dont make our emotions get the better of us. That's my opinion! The woman should tell her family and both families should come together and resolve it with an out-of-court settlement. The lady together with her husband's family must see to it that he's given the needed treatment or rehabilitation. I see you prefer the man to go to jail. Tell me how good is that to the little girl? |
Family / Re: See Advise Woman Received After She Caught Her Husband Assaulting Her Sister by Quaco(m): 5:29pm On May 01, 2018 |
SAMBARRY:settlement is not a bribe...don't know if you're familiar with out-of-court settlement. FYI it's very legal. The man did a terrible thing, i didnt see anywhere in the woman's note that she wants a divorce. Justice can be served in several ways, i may sound insensitive to you, but i'm looking at the bigger picture. I dont agree with the wife keeping the incident from her family but you have to also consider if they have children....send the man to jail and gain what? The man can only become better with the help of his wife and family. Taking him to jail won't help him get better, he will come out and defile more children |

pocohantas:You know the woman's family have two options going to court, either go for a criminal trial or a civil case in tort which they will seek for damages. Why go through the hustle of court with all the fees involved when the man can settle the girl and her family. Nothing disgusting about this. Unless you prefer the man go to jail for 10+ for defilement with peanuts for damages. What good is that to the truamatized little girl and her family? |

This is a very sensitive matter which should be handled with care. The man deserves to be brought to justice alright but it's prudent to remember the children (if any) and the wife will end up being casualities in this mess. The stigma they will get from society...children of a paedophile, wife of a paedophile. In my opinion this should be handled by the family and the man should be made to handsomely compensate his sister-in-law. |

The lady is only worried about shame and insult. Trust is the bedrock of marriage. Where there's no trust, there's no marriage. If i were to be in your friend's shoes, i will kick her to the curb. Three weeks will be enough for me send notice of the cancellation to invited guests. I will also tell both parents the reason for my action. Well the money spent on the wedding, i can't do anything about, take it as a bad investment and move on. 1 Like |
