Religion / Importance Of Thanksgiving To God by RACOme: 10:53am On May 15, 2022
Thanksgiving is the expression of gratitude.

Some countries mark some days in a year to celebrate"Thanksgiving". It is indeed a great thing but I think that as Christians, we should be grateful at all times.

We should show thanks to God more than we seek his help.

I don't know why many people see giving thanks as a big deal. Why do they ask more than they thank?

If you look around, you will notice that lots of people have so much entitlement mentality. They ask for things like it's their birthright.

They find it comfortable begging but Immediately you stop giving, they will tag you as a "bad person", or "Wicked"

Lack of gratitude!.

While growing up, my mum taught us to always show gratitude more, right from a tender age.

One day, she told us a story. (I don't know if she made the story up but it sure made lots of sense to me)

According to her:-

The Angels in charge of the provision in heaven are the busiest. While the angels in charge of "Thanksgiving" are always less busy.

Why is this so?

This is because the number of people "ASKING " is way above the number of people *THANKING".

A greater number of those that give thanks only do so to have their feet balanced on the ground before begging. They used this act of "Thanksgiving" to water the ground before bombarding GOD with their requests.

According to my mum, this is one of the reasons that, sometimes our requests to God often get delayed. And then, as humans, we assume that God doesn't answer prayers (fast), or, he has abandoned us.

No! He did not. The angels are just too busy. They have lots at hand to attend to.

Remember, as you are tabling your requests, another from somewhere is also doing so, so also another and another.

That's bulky man!

If you are the angels, no lie, wetin you go do?

Now the Angels are in charge of Thanksgiving!

These angels always have lots of time in their hands

Each time we genuinely give thanks, they will have the time to scan the thanks giver, search their hearts and find out their needs, then move to the provision room where needs are stored, and grant this person his or her particular need even without them asking.

Isn't this magical!!

After this narrative from my mum.

It has been my armor.

Philippians 4:6, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
I have learned how to thank more. Not just to God but humans as well.

As humans, imagine how you feel if someone refuses to thank you for the good deeds you do for him. And then, after some time. That same person opens his mouth waaa! to ask for more.

Won't you feel like taking back your deed?

Or, if someone thanks you for something you assume it's worthless. I bet you will do more if you have.

Now, imagine how it feels that every day, we wake up, instead of thanking the creator for giving us another day, we ignore him and continue with our activities for the day, then, when we encounter a difficult situation, we start calling that same creator we ignored earlier.

o wrong naw!

The bible said in Psalm 9:1. I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

I remember as a child, I got lots of gifts just by thanking people for small things.

Even still at this very moment, lines are falling in pleasant places for me effortlessly and I still attribute it to Thanksgiving.

One of the benefits of praising God is bringing Him into your life. When you thank and praise the Lord, you invite His glory and presence into your heart and soul. When your thanksgiving message reaches God, He can reach down and bring light to your life with his mere presence.

When was the last time you gave thanks to God?

Are you waiting for him to grant your requests before you thank him?

Why don't you try this magical act of THANKSGIVING!

It works wonders?

Heavenly Father, we bow our hearts to You and pray. We give You thanks for all You've done, especially for the gift of Jesus, Your Son. For beauty in nature, Your glory we see, for joy and health, friends, and family.

Thank you, Lord, for the blessings you have bestowed on my life. You have provided me with more than I could ever have imagined. You have surrounded me with people who always look out for me. You have given me family and friends who bless me every day with kind words and actions.

Thank you, LORD,

Family / How To Train Up A Good Child by RACOme: 1:40pm On Apr 25, 2022
With the rate of happenings, around the world, especially in this part, parental training is really of great importance in the life of the younger ones (leaders of tomorrow.)

Sometimes when you hear about what underage children are doing, you will be forced to ask if they have parents.

It is important to note that whatever a child becomes in life, it must be attributed to their upbringing, whether good or bad.

How can the parents train the children to be useful not just to the family but also to the society at large?

This question has been ringing in my head for a while now so I decided to share my thought on GOOD PARENTING.

It is important to start the training and discipline very early, even before they are one year old. There is something appropriate for every age.

Good parenting involves a great deal of consistency and routine, which gives children a sense of control. Good parenting focuses on developing independence in children, so redundancy becomes the aim for parents. Good parenting involves a style that considers children's age and stage of development.

Teach them early to respect and obey constituted authority, that is, you, the parents. Then as they grow older, they learn to obey the laws of the land.

There has to be a set of values to instill, if not, the wrong ones will take hold. Christian values are my preferred ones. Teach them to fear God.

Be a good example, children will pattern themselves more after your actions than your words. So if your words and your actions tally, the better.

Be very strict, when they are younger and ease up as they grow older. Apply the cane if necessary before they get to three years. As they grow older the need to apply the cane will lessen and the need to shout would have become minimal.

As they grow older, become their friend and mentor. Teach them how to relate appropriately with the opposite sex. Teach them about types of relationships and the appropriate times to have them.

Teach them sex education and be very liberal and realistic as you can get. Let them get more interesting lists of gifts from you than from their peers if you can manage it.

Make it fun and educational. Learn the appropriate names for body parts and don't cringe at the street versions. Teach decorum and street smarts.

Teach your boys to have sense and face their life purpose early. Teach the girls to keep their virtue and pursue their dreams. They don't have to wait for marriage to be successful in life.

Teach them yourselves about the vices peculiar to their age and society in general. Show them consequences for such vices and prayerfully guide them to avoid them.

Boys and girls must learn how to cook and be domesticated from an early age.

Teach them to respect elders. Teach them to spot predators. Teach them to pray for guidance. God is their ultimate parent.

Teach them a lot of physical skills. If left alone, children nowadays will focus only on digital screens.

Give them an exciting childhood to remember.

Discipline appropriately, and don't compromise on showing a lot of love.

With these steps, I think the parents have done their best in their upbringing.

The rest is left to God

Religion / I Am Not A Demon But Had To Pretend To Be One. by RACOme: 1:25pm On Apr 25, 2022
We do silly things when we are younger.
Growing up, I have done so many things I'm not proud of. (May God forgive me).

I remember what happened One day in church during one of the church's weekly activities.

I was still doing my school clearance then and you will agree with me that that process was stressful and draining (in my school at least).

So, during this midweek service, I don't know how I dozed off while the service is still on.

In my sleep:

I just returned from lectures and met my roommate walking around the room. She was looking so unsettled. I suspected that something was going on but didn't pin my mind to it.

I asked if she cooked something but she swore not to have eaten since morning.
I decided to take a nap and walked straight to the bed area.
My roomie tried to stop me. At the veg of pushing me off, her leg kicked the soaked garri that she covered with the bedsheet.

I busted out laughing unknown to me that the laugh was in reality.‍♀️

My friend tapped me immediately and I got back to my senses but that was a little late. All eyes were already on me.

The pastor gave me the look of "I don catch you devil today". I responded the look with my own " If they born you well, near me na".

He started walking close to me, I had to pretend to be praying.

The pastor came to me. He laid hands on my head, on my chest, blew me air, beat my head, and pushed my forehead in a futile attempt to make me fall.

Lai lai! Odeshi!

The ushers surrounded me. They held me so tight.

I decided to add some flavor to it to make it look real.

I started staggering and forcing myself to break free from them.

The pastor removed his coat, and his wristwatch and shrugged in readiness to kill the demon.

Trust yours truly, I Kuku brought out my acting skills.

" Don't you dare come close" I commanded.

"Who are you and what are you doing in this body?" the pastor asked as he spoke in tongues.

" I am the Queen of the coast," I boasted.

"I command you to leave this body now!!!!" The pastor shouted to my ears.

The shout was so intended that even the real demon will be scared.

I moved away from him, thinking that he will move to my fellow demons rolling and wailing on the floor, but no, he really wantu ridiku me.

He followed me still shouting " I command you to leave this body now!!!!".

Two more ushers joined, making them five ushers holding down only one demon…

The demon is in trouble.

I turned to the congregations and noticed that the prayers were so intense.

Everyone was kabashing and commanding the poor bottle of malt like me.

The pastor was charging more and speaking louder in tongues.

It dawned on me that the time to ridiku I is now!

I borrowed some sense and fell on the floor.

"The battle is won!!!!!" The pastor shouted.
No problem oo. I lay there so exhausted.

He poured some holy water on me. At first, I was dodging it to avoid entering my eyes.

Then It occurred to me that I was supposed to be in character.

I started twerking and wangling on the floor.

After two attempts. I relaxed and the pastor moved to the next demon.

After the service, the pastor called all the delivered demons together and prayed for us again.

He gave me some Bible passages and prayers to continue praying, to avoid the demons coming back.

Ah, tor! shebi is only me that knows that nothing was wrong with me.

I was only laughing from the dreamland oo
