1. Is it a must for a family of 4 to have their medicals done at the same hospital at the same time? Kids and spouse are in abuja and I am in lagos. So we want to do the medicals at different hospitals, but we are being advised against this.

2. Must you have your International Passport ready before you get to do your medicals?

1. I am the primary applicant, and we are already in the pool with CRS 458. Now, I chose to use my business as my current workplace, because I dont want to have to ask my current employer to provide a reference letter. Though I have 7 years work experience in my first place of work and 4 years under my business. Now, the question is do I list it as Self employed (though i dont want to do this cos i dont have any proof of salary payments and other documents) or as a director of this company since its a limited company and I am listed as a director on the registration documents?

The stuff on your nose is called sebaceous filaments (otherwise known as Egusi). They are tiny collection of sebum and dead skin cells around a hair follicle, which usually takes the form of a small hair-like strand. They usually have white or yellow color, and can be expressed from the skin by pinching/pushing up of the nose. These filaments are naturally occurring, and are not a sign of infection or any other ailment, they are basically our naturally occurring sebum which is present in our skin / pores / hair follicles.

Unfortunately, there's no getting rid of them permanently. They can be extracted, but even then they usually refill within 30 days – usually sooner. In some cases, even pushing up of the nose does not cause them to be released, and this is usually because of a thin layer of skin that is sealing them up within the follicles.

The best course of action to take is to get a professional facial done to have them extracted. Professional treatments effective for deep cleansing of the pores include machine based treatments such as Galvanic Desincrustation. Skincare products such as charcoal/kaolin masks are excellent for drawing out impurities and excess oil, but my favourite method of treatment is the use of professional strength enzyme peels/masks and products with salicylic acid as an active ingredient.

For a retail product, I suggest Lotion X by Christine Valmy. Otherwise, a concussion of baking soda and distilled water also helps to cause their easy release (though not as effective as professional products)

Stretch marks are a tricky bit, and complete resolution is majorly dependent on the Color, age, type and location (upper or lower dermis) of the stretchmarks. in addition, you are compounding the problem by using all sorts of stuff without a prescription. Pls send a picture to me, and lets see what kind you have and then we can take it up from there

I've this reoccurrence ance that do surface MOSTLY at one sided chick. Although I do have just one or Two ance on the other chick. Its quiet appalling to see all treatments towards this ance seems futile. The Genesis of this ance is still a mystery to me.... I understand your frustration, but I advise you to take it easy or stressing yourself out by worrying over the situation can only make it worse.

Now Acne is a common skin problem and it has been estimated that acne vulgaris afflicts about 79% to 95% of the adolescent population of most countries. However, it can be managed. The first thing we need to determine is what kind/grade of acne you have and then we can tackle the problem from there on. There is no one-size fits all treatment for acne; treatment is always specific to the acne type, causative agent and the likes. That is why I caution you against quacks who just dispense nonsensical and dangerous concussions to unsuspecting folks.

Now, most Nigerians just want a quick fix solution for our skin problems, but that is exactly what worsens the case. You should not be asking for just any recommendation of product to use on the acne, as that would just aggravate the problem further.

Send me a picture of the acne. I dont need a picture of your whole face, but just a closeup of the acne locations, so that I can determine what kind of acne you have. Then i would be able to make a correct prognosis from there on

The mistake most of us make is that, we expect wonders from using a product in just a few days. In addition, we expect results from the wrong set of products. You are having the sensation on your skin because it is still raw from the previous abuse of products you were using. You would have to wait till your skin heals completely. I suggest you get a collagen based product to help regenerate your skin cells.

Bio Oil is very good for dry skin because of its hydrating properties. You can try shea butter or almond/coconut oil. Though I suggest you avoid using any of these on the face if you have an acneic skin.

If its the kind of whiteheads I suspect, you may need a facial treatment to remove the impactions. It is very difficult to get a product that can assist with pulling out impacted plugs. In the meanwhile, you can get a nice face scrub and use 2-3times a week to help with smoothing out your facial skin.

I suggest you stop using the product that gave you this problem. Start to watch out for anything that would trigger your skin to misbehave. Dont use the hydrocortisone for too long. The skin reaction should calm down on its own.

You might need to get depigmentation treatments for sunburn. That is the only way to resolve sunburns. Please look out for a professional that can help you and do your research well, before buying any products that claim to magically resolve the situation. My personal mantra is never to buy anything that does not have any standard ingredient label on it

Steroid-based creams are meant for short term use to resolve certain dermatologic conditions. They are not to be used for long term use such as daily creams and the like.

Steroid creams usually give instantaneous results on major skin issues, but after long term use, the skin becomes addicted to it. As such, when the product is stopped, the skin begins to present other issues that reflect skin hemorrhaging. In addition, the skin begins to express other irreversible conditions such as striae (stretchmarks), green veins and very thin skin which are side-effects of over exposure to steroids.

Regrettably, you would have to suffer the withdrawal symptoms that your skin displays for a while before your skin can adjust to normal. The only help you need now is how to manage these symptoms. You can send the picture to my whatsapp number, and then I can view and we can discuss together

There are a lot of options for depigmenting. It all comes down to your budget. personally I prefer chemibrasion, over microdermabrasion and chemical peels. Strong and safe facial depigmenting topicals are also a yes for me.

So check out any 'SKIN PROFESSIONAL', (not quacks parading as the real ones) and get a skin analysis done to get the best options for you

I'm glad you know that all these unprofessionally made products that have been termed as 'all natural' or 'herbal' are just a cocktail mixture of potentially dangerous ingredients that could not only irreversibly damage the skin, but also cause renal failure, liver problems and even cancers in both short and long term cases.

You would need to do a sound research on the safe products that you can use that would maintain her natural skintone. But the most important thing she must look out for is a product that contains sunscreen. That would prevent general darkening of the skin.

She may get exfoliating products that would daily resurface the skin and give its naturally clean hue

Please stop using the hydrocortsone cream. As you know it is a strong steroid. It is good that you have not been using it consistently, but I suggest you try the agnesia powder instead. That should clear up all of the rashes.

Happy New Year Everyone!

You can get acne products designated for the body. E.g Avon's body wash or Bion Antiacne body wash and Green Tea Clay Poultice

As per scars, get a scar reduction peel, plus a glycolic Cream to aid with deap exfoliation. You could also try Microdermabrasion, Chemical peels or dermaroller treatments to assist with speedy results.

This should solve the problem.

What kind of dermatitis is it? Is it in one location only? If it is, I suggest you try a series of chemical peels.

If it is not, then you may need to get a dermatitis cream for it.e.g BiON dermatitis cream Or any medicated cream with zinc in it.

Hydrocortisone and skineal are all steroidal products. I dont advice that you use these proudcts long term.

Try to get a fade cream for dark spots to lighten that area specifically. To hasten the process, you may accompany the lightening process with chemical peels, microdermabrasion or dermaroller treatments in a professional setting.

Kojic Acid is a lightening ingredient that is an acceptable alternative to hydroquinone. AHAs are naturally occuring acids that assist with deep exfoliation, hence influencing skin cell turnover. I dont lnow what asafetida is.

What is the name of this cream? I may be able to do some reserach on it and identify other ingredients in it.

Please go through my earlier post on acne and treating of spots from pimples.

Now,as per a cream to use for your body; what do yu want to achieve? An even skin tone? Maintain suppleness and Moisture content? The thing about we Nigerians is that, we believe that it is only body creams that can make our skin good,hence the overflooding of our markets with cheap, dangerous products. It is not a must for you to use a cream to achieve the desired result that you want. For example, I do not use body cream for my body, because I sweat a lot. I only apply moisturisers to my legs because they are dry. Just determine the end result and we can start it from there.
