A group of researchers from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri has made a startling discovery claiming that solar panels not only convert the sun’s energy into a usable form but are also draining the sun of its own energy which may lead to far more catastrophic consequences than global warming. The lead researcher Prof Isaiah Pintama argued that the energy radiated from the sun is not only captured by the solar panel but that some energy is also physically drawn directly from the core of the sun by the panels through a mechanism that is yet to be fully understood.



“We know that there are three modes of heat transfer. The mechanisms involved in all three are fully understood. But our study has established a fourth which is akin to draining a swamp from a distance without any physical intervening medium. An inmate who escaped from the recent jailbreak in Jos left a note in his cell promising to return back soon, an official of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) told YeyeNews.com. The source said the inmate left the note scribbled on the floor of his cell saying he has some important business to take care of but promise to be back shortly.

Women in northern Nigeria under the aegis of Progressive Women of Northern Nigeria (PWNN) has called on the Senate to throw out any bill seeking to establish equality between men and women in the country. In a letter sent to the senate president the group threatened to occupy the National Assembly if the senators proceed with the consideration of any such bill.



“We represent the progressive women in northern Nigeria. We are using this medium to convey our disapproval of any attempt to legislate any form of equality between men and women under any guise. We are subject to the Quran which is superior to any human written law. Our place is in the home of the man whose authority over us is unchallengeable. We are therefore putting the senate on notice that any attempt to make any law to the contrary will leave us with no option than to occupy the National Assembly”.

A teacher in an elite primary school in Victoria Island Lagos has been sacked for “inappropriate behavior” during a Primary V sex education lesson. The teacher simply referred to as Miss Cindy (not her real name) was fired for stripping in front a roomful of the kids during a sex education class. The Nigerian Army have said their inability to prevent bandits from returning to the Abuja-Kaduna expressway to kidnap travelers is due to all the female soldiers deployed to the important road getting married in quick succession. Henceforth police officers on checkpoints will be ‘armed’ with only koboko (horsewhip) and batons to avoid the incessant cases of accidental discharges that has resulted in the death of hundreds of road users over the years. This decision was reached at the meeting of the Police Service Commission (PSC) in Abuja, a source in the meeting disclosed to YeyeNews.com. “The PSC has resolved that henceforth the Inspector General of Police should ensure officers and men manning checkpoints on highways will not bear any lethal weapons during such duties. They will only be in possession of batons and horsewhips. The policy is meant to curb the killing and maiming of road users due to accidental discharge”, the source revealed.



When asked if the policy will not expose the officers to the danger of attack by armed assailants, the source assured that the policy made adequate provision to safeguard them. “For every officer without lethal weapons at a checkpoint there is a well armed officer on patrol duties nearby. There will be a strong linkage between the armed patrol team and their koboko wielding colleagues at the checkpoints. So the former will always be available to intervene in the event that the latter is in any danger. The patrol teams are strictly prohibited from stop and search duties. So any interaction between road users and armed police officers will be nearly eliminated”.

A source who was present at the house told YeyeNews.com reporter that the babalawo kept on saying incantations throughout the match. “At some point he walked into his room and when he returned he declared victory for Kamaru. Truly Kamaru was declared winner. He has boasted that so far that he is alive nobody will defeat Kamaru in the ring”.

Customers in one the new generation banks in Nigeria where treated to a spectacular drama on Monday as two female staffers fought openly over a rich customer. One of the bank customers who witnessed the fight narrated to YeyeNews.com reporter how the ladies fought their way out of an office into the banking hall.



“It was a serious commotion as the two ladies accused themselves of ‘stealing’ a man. We later learned from one of the bank security staff that the man they were fighting over is a customer of the bank who is a Yahoo boy. We heard them shouting at themselves inside the office while their colleagues were trying to calm the situation but suddenly they dragged themselves out. They tore each others clothes as they rolled on the floor. It was such an embarrassing situation”, the source said.

President Buhari has blamed the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic for Nigeria’s failure to be among the biggest 20 economies in the world. A source told YeyeNews.com that the president made the comment while lamenting the non-invitation of the country to the recently concluded G20 summit in Rome. “The president at a meeting with the economic team at his residence urged them to work hard to ensure Nigeria’s GDP reaches at least $750 million before May 29, 2023 when he will leave office”, the source said.

Nigeria currently has a GDP of $448m making it the largest economy in Africa but at the same time having one the lowest per capita income in the continent. “The president’s directive to achieve a $750m GDP may be excessively optimistic”, a Lagos based financial expert Deji Damilola told YeyeNews.com reporter.

Turji, a notorious bandit leader in Zamfara State has turned down the offer of the State Governor Bello Matawalle to negotiate with the government. One of the sources said Andy Uba is very disappointed after spending so much in bribing top politicians to help influence the elections in his favor. “Andy Uba bought Nkem Okeke over to APC with $150,000. He then gave him another $300,000 to deliver his Local Government Area during the election. But Nkem Okeke could not even deliver his unit for the APC. Now Andy Uba has taken the matter to Okija shrine. He wants his money back”.
