Femi Hamzat, former Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Lagos State has emerged as the running-mate to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s governorship election in Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.



Hamzat, who had aspired to be governor twice, stepped down for Sanwo-Olu to emerge as the party’s candidate before the primaries. He had also served as a Commissioner in the Ministry of Science & Technology, in Lagos from August 2005 till until June 2011.



He announced the development in a post on his official Facebook page saying, 'In our collective resolve to take Lagos to greater heights i offer myself to serve and join hands with the Lagos APC governorship candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu as running mate by filling the INEC nomination Form. The progress and development of Lagos is our collective vision and with your entire support and electoral mandates come 2019, the dividends of democracy will be delivered to all lagosians'.

Fabregas enters into the world record books for his record assists over the years in the Premier League



Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for his assists.
The 31-year-old has been recognised for his ability to provide goals for his teammates and was a recipient of record for the fastest time to achieve 100 assists in the Premier League.

The Spain International was able to achieve his record with 74 games lesser than Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs who holds the highest number of assists in the English first division.

Fabregas achieved the feat when he assisted Brazilian midfielder Willian in Chelsea's 4-2 win over Stoke City in December 2016.

Speaking in an interview, Fabregas explained why he is such a good provider of goals for his teammates.

He said, "I’m not the fastest, I'm not the strongest, I'm not the most flexible, I don’t jump high," he said with a smile.

"But to achieve this record in my career is one of the proudest things in my job, because it is my job and I did it well.

Fabregas who had entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the Most volley passes in 30 seconds achieved his the assist target for Chelsea but started with his time at Arsenal.

He took to his official Twitter account to celebrate the achievement and also reminisced about providing the goal that won Spain the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

He said, "It was not the most beautiful, not the most amazing assist. But a simple pass broke the line… and it got us the World Cup."

Fabregas who is now back to full fitness is expected to return to action when Chelsea host Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 20.

Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa has revealed that his goal in the3-2 win against Libya is a birthday gift.
Musa was on target alongside Odion Ighalo who scored a brace as the Super Eagles picked up all three points against Libya in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier played on Tuesday, October 16.

The Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia forward celebrated his 26th birthday on Sunday, October 14 a day after the Super Eagles beat Libya 4-0 in the first leg encounter played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Musa was unable to score in that game but provided an assist for one of Ighalo’s goals as Nigeria cruised to victory.

A HIV-positive man has been ordered by a court to give police 24 hours’ notice every time he intends to have sex.

Norman O'Neill, 44, who had unprotected sex with women after failing to tell them about his condition, was branded a "danger to women" by a judge at Southampton Magistrates' Court and slapped with a four-year Sexual Risk Order - and if he breaks it he could face up to five years in jail.

He must contact officers and provide the details of each woman he plans on having sex with so police can warn them about his condition and is banned from inviting any women into his home unless he calls police first.

O'Neill, from Southampton, was served with the order following a civil case brought by Hampshire Constabulary. He is alleged to have put "vulnerable" women at risk by engaging in unprotected sex without telling them he has HIV.







Detective Sergeant Craig Fielding, from Hampshire Constabulary, told the court O'Neill enticed women back to his home by promising them drugs and alcohol.

The court heard on one occasion a woman woke up to discover the lower half of her clothing had been removed. She made a formal complaint but O'Neill denied raping her and there was insufficient evidence that sexual intercourse had taken place.

On another occasion, a woman allegedly woke up to find her clothes torn and blood on her legs. The court was told O'Neill locked her in the flat for several days.

He was arrested but denied committing any offences and the woman was not prepared to support a prosecution.

As a result of being subject of the court order, O'Neill must inform women he has HIV before any sexual activity takes place. The order also includes a curfew preventing O'Neill from leaving his home between 10pm and 7am.

Under the civil order, O'Neill must not invite any woman into his home without giving police her name and contact details - giving officers the chance to call her in advance and issue an appropriate warning.

If he fails to comply with the order he could be prosecuted and jailed for up to five years.

The Abia state police command have arrested a man identified as Cyril Ogolo for allegedly sleeping with his twin stepdaughters who are seventeen years respectively and getting one of them pregnant.

According to reports, while the mother of the twin girls just delivered a baby for Ogolo, one of the twins is however, three months pregnant for her stepfather, who is an indigene of Opobo, in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State and a spiritualist/herbalist based in Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State.

The mother of the twins left the biological father of the twins, Mr Maduabuchi in 2010 and has since been living with her lover; Ogolo with the twins who have been going to school from his house until recently when they finished their secondary final examination; WAEC and had to always be at home.

A relative of the family said the father of the girls, the twins had resisted Ogolo’s several attempts to sleep with them, but after he was said to have his way when efforts made by the girls to draw the attention of their mother to their stepfather's randy nature, failed.

According to the police source, Ogolo had petitioned one of the Pentecostal Churches where the wife worships, accusing them of aborting the baby one of the twins is carrying.

The source however said that upon the strength of the petition by Ogolo, they subjected the twins to medical test only to discover that one of them is carrying three months pregnancy for the stepfather.

The source stated that Ogolo when questioned by the investigating officer, confessed sleeping with the girls and being responsible for the child one of them is carrying.

The source added that Ogolo would be charged to court as soon as investigation into the matter was concluded.

A policeman has been accused of shooting dead a police sergeant in Osun state during the elections.



The deceased, identified as Owai Owai a.k.a ‘Temple’. was among the police officers deployed to secure Osun governorship election last month. He was shot on the chest and his family members claim that witnesses told them he was shot by another officer identified as Theophilus Aghaulor with police number 410022 (Pictured above).



Owai Owai who is from Adim Baise local government area in Cross River State, reportedly called his family member on that fateful day and promised to return home for a visit after the Osun election, but he was killed over a dispute that had to do with money.



The family of the deceased have now taken to Facebook to ask for justice while claiming the officer who shot their brother is now on the run.
