Islam for Muslims / Re: Essence Of Hajj by rasheedah: 8:20pm On Jan 04, 2006 |
well i totally agree with you all about this hajj issue..i heard only yesterday that someone was going for his 4th time and i'm wondering to myself ...how come? in a country where some people barely have enough to eat..even the issue of the government sponsoring some people has been corrupted that those in power put people on the list to return personal favours..i mean if Allah subuhana watahala has blessed you soo much and you have already had the priviledge of fulfiling the 5th pillar of islam once why not spend your wealth in other rewarding venues like helping the needy and if you really want to go for hajj why not send somebody else (who cannot afford it)to represent you..you will be rewarded for your good deeds ....afterall thats the essence of hajj . |
Religion / Re: Pastor Bimbo Odukoya in Sosoliso Plane Crash by rasheedah: 11:49am On Dec 12, 2005 |
we all are going on about pastor bimbo odukoya.....yes irrespective of my faith i admired her and felt she was a woman of substance...i was personally affected by this crash so i am really sad......we all say the crash might have been averted but it all boils down to one issue death cannot be cheated when God says its your time to go you have to go....i lost my friends to this fatal crash ...brilliant promsing teenagers like myself had to answer the natural call of death though in a gruesome way......if we say we can avoid death wat do you say about a man asleep on his bed and got hit by a stray bullet...i am not in nigeria now but my heart goes out to them...i know i am young and i mean i am barely eighteen but i have become aware of the reality of death...we should all take some time to think......mamy their souls be granted peace...amen. |

TV/Movies / Re: Is Anyone Into Indian Movies? by rasheedah: 9:52am On Dec 05, 2005 |
yeah i am a bollywood fan as well....the only problem is that their storylines are very predictable just like nollywood movies...they r good dancers and singers we have to give them credit for that ...and really beautiful/handsome....but thats not all to a movie is it?well if u are looking for a different bollywood movie that goes against the normal happy, soppy storyline i suggest you go and see black..its about this girl who is blind and deaf....you all need to see rani mukherji at her best performance of all times....and if you prefer the normal happy storylines...muje dosti karonge is something to see... |
Career / Re: Nigerians Studying Abroad: Would You Go Back Home To Work? by rasheedah: 10:08pm On Nov 06, 2005 |
..i want to study medicine and believe me there's no way I'm working in this country....i just want to work for about a year and get the experience of working abroad...and then after that its back to nigeria...by the Almighty's grace i plan on establishing my own hospital where the people who are less fortunate get treated at subsidized rates cos it breaks my heart to see people dying cos they cannot pay the hospital bills of private hospitals...and the government hospitals r nothing to write home about..i would also want to do a bit of research all over the world and find ways we could all work to improve our health sector..i mean common guys if we don't help our country...by staying abroad then who will?think about it! |
