Politics / Pro. Akinyemi O: Nigeria Cannot Defeat The Igbo And Yoruba At The Same Time by Raxz(m): 5:06pm On Jul 20, 2021 |
Professor Akinyemi Onigbinde Snr Research Fellow Institute of African Studies University of Ghana Accra, Ghana *'Nigeria cannot defeat the Igbo and Yoruba at the same time'* The greatest thing Nigerians accomplished in the last thirty years was electing Muhammadu Buhari as president. If he had lived and died without being president, no one would push back when politicians fall over themselves to deliver tributes and call him the greatest president that Nigeria never had. After six years of Buhari’s administration and with only two more years to go, all is settled about the rhymes and stanzas of Buhari’s elegy. Some thirty years from now, people will stone anyone who attaches “greatest ” to any tribute at Buhari’s funeral. You may ask if anything is worth the cost of having Buhari as president? Before you do, there is another reason why his election was the greatest accomplishment of the Nigerian electorate in the last 30 years. If Buhari had not been president, if his incompetence had not been exposed to the uninitiated, Nigeria would have continued its zigzag path. The one-step-forward, two-steps-backwards trajectory would have continued unabated. Thus, Buhari helped the unrestructured Nigeria to confront its foreseeable future. That is Buhari’s first legacy. Here is Buhari’s second legacy: It may not be clear yet to the Fulani people, but Buhari’s presidency has damaged them more than any other group in Nigeria. Buhari’s inability to have an objective view of what leadership entails in a diverse country like Nigeria and his propensity to side with his Fulani people even when every donkey could see the bias undermined the Fulani deeply. He diminished whatever legitimate claim they have in what is clearly a fast-moving degenerative Nigeria’s structural carnage. The Fulani were better off in Nigeria six years ago than they are today. That is Muhammadu Buhari’s second legacy. In the context of Nigeria’s nationhood, Buhari’s second coming was a necessary evil: He came, he saw, and he hastened its ruination for everyone. If Buhari had not been president, Nigeria would have been ‘managing.’ The Peoples Democratic Party of Goodluck Jonathan and Sambo Dasuki and Diezani Allison-Madueke would have been paying Dangote to rob Otedola, even as the country continued the slide down the valley of death. Buhari accelerated the collapse by taking the country on a bungee jump down the deepest part of the valley using a frayed rope. The rope is breaking. Anyone with functioning ears can hear the splitting threads from miles away. High above the deepest part of the valley, Nigeria barely holds on to Buhari’s back. Two things will happen: Either Nigeria loses its grip on Buhari’s back and falls into the valley of death, or the rope rips and both Nigeria and Buhari plunge down the valley. Either way, death is the expected end. The only miracle on the horizon is to get Nigeria to a place where it cannot fight the Igbo and the Yoruba nations simultaneously. In a one-on-one fight, Nigeria may defeat any of its components. Nigeria may defeat the Igbo. Nigeria may run over the Yoruba. Nigeria may crush the Ijaw, the Ibibio, the Tiv, the Ijaw, the Kanuri, the Fulani, the Bachama, the Idoma, the Urhobo, etc. Nigeria cannot defeat the Igbo and the Yoruba at the same time. In a fight between Nigeria on one side and an Igbo-Yoruba alliance on the other, many ethnic minority groups will take the side of the alliance. Whether the fight is in the physical or spiritual realm, whether it is in the democratic realm or the ideological realm, Nigeria has no chance of winning a fight against the combined forces of the Igbo and the Yoruba. For a table with three legs, one leg has no chance of keeping the table standing when the other two legs take a knee. The Igbo and Yoruba need to take a combined knee. That is the ultimate way to shake the table called Nigeria. Nigeria needs to get to a point where it faces the prospect of fighting a united Igbo and Yoruba power. It needs to happen now. That reality needs to be clear, concrete, and ironclad. It is the only magic wand that can save Nigeria. Is it easy to achieve? No. Is it possible? Yes. What will it take to get Nigeria to that place where it risks fighting the Igbo and the Yoruba simultaneously? The way to achieve this is for the Igbo and the Yoruba to embrace Thomas Jefferson’s greatest philosophy. The man who drafted the U.S. Declaration of Independence said, “I admire the dreams of the future more than the history of the past.” The Igbo and the Yoruba must admire the dreams of the future more than the history of the past. They must do it not just for their children’s children but also for all those children from East to West, North to South, trapped in prisons of mediocrity and death, which are the only gift of an unfair, unjust, and dysfunctional Nigeria. The Igbo and the Yoruba owe this to future generations of the people currently trapped in Nigeria. It is their responsibility. Posterity will blame the Igbo and the Yoruba in Nigeria if they fail to catch the wave. Thanks to Buhari’s misadventures, the awareness of today is total and overwhelming. Severe penalties await the Igbo and the Yoruba if they fail to act now and free unborn generations from the manacles of Muhammadu Buhari’s. Politics / How God Show Me Obaseki Winning On 26 July. by Raxz(m): 2:35pm On Sep 20, 2020 |
PDP flag off Edo governorship election camping on 25 July 2020. On 26 July 2020 God show me Revelation about Obaseki winning and I share it here on nairalan on 27 July 2020. here is the link : https://www.nairaland.com/6018913/obaseki-win-september-2020-election Let me give a details of that revelations. On 26 July 2020 about 2am God show me a revelation. remember as at that time PDP just kick start camping for Edo 2020 election with an empty stadium, obersaki as that time was completely confuse as to what to do next, infact obesaki was skeptical about funding his camping groups and there were alot of issues in his camp, people resigning from his government, there were so much fear about his political future, not knowing what the next line of action could be. On the day of his camping flag off Obaseki and the other PDP fateful visisted Oba of Binin and something remarkably happened. Chief protocal officer to Obaseki forget to go to Oba's palace with a kola an action which did not go down well with everyone present at the palace including Obaseki himself, on knowning to him and everyone that were at the palace, that was a define moment for him. How? If Obaseki had gone with a KOLA to Oba palace he would have loses this election. The Edo ancestors has accepted his KOLA before his visit to Oba's palace. The Revelation On that night I saw the elders of Edo state (ancestors) seating round a long table, among them was one of my uncle "late" now. remeber I am not from Edo or anywhere close. I saw twelves Candidates each person came with a trial of KOLA and Bitter KOLA and place them on the table the elders were seating. Then my uncle said to them, that they have accept Obaseki Kola. The elders started eating the KOLA from Obaseki trial one after the other each person take a Kola from the trial. I went outside I saw a large crowd jubilating, people were eating chicken and rice and drinking. Everyone where veey happy a large crowd. When I look to the road side I saw Obaseki on top of a motorcade with his two hands up With a large crowd following him. Then i look the other side I saw Oshomolie standing by the road side with his hands at his back looking at Obaseki and the crowd, then he turned and was going on his foot over a bridge, then I heard a voice saying he is a winer. And I open my eyes. 1 Like 1 Share |

Health / 18 Chinese Experts And What I Think NMD Should Do. by Raxz(m): 9:58pm On Apr 06, 2020 |
I am of the opinion that Nigerian Medical Association should leave the stage for Chinese experts in protex, should Federal Government insist on going ahead to bring in those Chinese Doctors. I don't know why our government believed so much in Chinese in every thing, while we have our medical professionals who are doing remarkably well in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). So far with our medical professionals in charge we have recoded lower death rate and high recoveries rate compared to other countries globally. So why bring in expert from other country? Federal government insist that the 18-member team of Chinese experts will be arriving soon with “globally scarce supplies” in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). This is coming days after the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) rejected the invitation by the Federal Government of a Chinese medical team to help Nigeria in its coronavirus response. Dr Osagie Ehanire, Minister of Health, disclosed this on Monday in Abuja, at the Presidential Taskforce (PTF), briefing on COVID-19 in the country. “On Friday, April 3, I announced that a team of Chinese medical experts will arrive. They are expected to arrive Nigeria in a few days with a consignment of globally scarce medical supplies, to augment government efforts and build capacity to contain the COVID-19 outbreak. “The donation by Chinese Companies in Nigeria, includes Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, medical consumables, over one million surgical masks for health workers and even ICU ventilators, valued at over 100,000 dollars, all sourced in the face of global scarcity of these items. “In addition, Chinese medical experts, comprising doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and public health managers will share their knowledge, skills and real-life experience of fighting COVID-19 with Nigerian personnel to strengthening management of COVID-19 cases, especially with regard to critical care,” he said. Ehanire said that this initiative would greatly build the capacity of hard-working and resourceful Nigerian Healthcare workers at the forefront of fighting COVID-19. “The much needed PPEs and masks will protect our frontline workers and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the line of duty. “We have a window of opportunity to strengthen our own response mechanism through lessons learned from any country that has had the experience and can provide hands-on demonstration of dealing with the outbreak and give the Nigerian clinical workforce the opportunity to share global best practices,” he explained. The minister disclosed that the government has also identified additional treatment centres. Read more: https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/fg-insists-on-chinese-doctors-says-they-will-bring- |
Politics / #COVID_19 A Time Like This Our Counstitution Is Silent! What Happened? When.... by Raxz(m): 11:35pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
Fellow Naigerian I am just wondering, haven't looking at what is happening now around the world (Corona virus), considering Nigeria constitution and it provision to elect the persident and governors and the provision for their tenures in office; Going by the provision of our constitution a seating president or gorvernor can only be elected into an office only twice that is four years and another four years making a total of eaigh years all together. The constitution specify a date by which a seating president or governor can be in office of which can not be excided or extend. The question now is who become the president or governor when an epidemic or pandemic such as COVID_19 happened and the president or gorvernor is in his/her second team and election is to be conducted to elect a new person, if electrical body is unable to conduct election. who will become the president? What did the Nigeria constitution say I such case? If ductring-of-necessity is to apply who become the next president? And how will such person emarg? |
