OK, did you choose golf because it is among the 3 available courses in the school,or is it because you love golfing as a sport? What you want to do is convince the V.O of your love for golf, and how you plan to expand it in Nigeria. Omoh26: Hi Guys! Visa denied 3 times on June 30, Sept 1 and 30. My school resumes Oct 5 for my quarter. Apparently I have to differ. School is California University of Management and Sciences.
June 30 Interview! CO: Why are u going to the US Me: For my masters degree in ** CO: what course did u read in school Me: Business Management CO: what school did u graduate from Me: **, a private school CO: who is sponsoring u Me: My mum CO: what does she do Me: A business woman CO: have u traveled before Me: No, have not heard need to. CO: Are u married Me: No. CO: Am sorry, hands the blue paper.
2nd interview on Sept 1, this CO dint ask any question apart from: CO: Why are u going to California Me: For my masters degree. CO: types for about 5 minutes, hands the blue paper.
3rd interview was in Abuja Sept 30, hence the 2 previous ones were in Lagos.
CO: Good Morning Me: Good morning CO: Pls pass ur passport Me: me hands in my passport and my mum's whom is my sponsor. CO: looks at my mum's 2 full passport which includes KLM card, she cross check it with my name and it does match. CO: this is ur mum right Me: Yes. CO: her next question was have u traveled before. Me: No, have not heard need to. CO: Why did u choose the school Me: of all the schools I applied to, California University of Management and Sciences is the only school that has a professional golfer has the Golf instructor, Tyler Corp, (which is true) CO: am confused, why golf. Me: In California, when offered admission for msc sport management, you would either major in Golf, Taekwondo or sports leadership, so I choose golf cos I was convinced with Tyler Corps explanation on Golf and it's rules when I spoke to him on Skype (which is also true). CO: where do u work. Me: My mum's company (which is also true). Am also a sports *** with so so and so station (also true) CO: your duties Me: explains CO: Am sorry, hands in the denial paper for the third time.
This gets me confused, I filled all information my self, all information provided were not false, spoke well, was composed at all 3 interviews yet wasn't approved. They always include tie to compel you to come back to an home country, working in ur parent company is a tie, ur parents having landed property is a tie, so what else. Hence I think there is a bit of discretion from the CO who conduct the interview. I mailed the embassy also called their call line, the response was we sorry for the denials but it is at the discretion of our Consular Officers, how else can one be truthful.
A man went with 4 children and his wife, Young guy though, he was asked what he was going for, he said vacation, he was asked where he has traveled to, he said UK, Italy and so. He was asked where the passport to countries he has traveled to is, he said he dropped it at home, yet he was approved, all couples got approved and aged people despite most not convincing. A lady was denied, the lady asked the CO, why the denial that she just explained she has landed properties in Nigeria. The CO responded by saying I can't go into details, that's d end of the interview.
I would please want a well constructed and helpful comment from you guys. Thanks. CC @Slimmy05 @LagosNIV.

USnobeparadise: Is there anyone that had his or her passport pickup location in Port Harcourt? What was your experience there and did they require valid photo ID? because in my case the only valid photo ID which I have is my ECOWAS passport which is held by them. But if they may require photocopy of my passport that will be easier. Take a scanned copy of your passport or use your voter's card if you have 1. I went to dhl, vi yesterday to have my passport, wasn't even asked of anything. |

I have done as you advice. I am currently waiting for their response to the comment. I wish there is an earlier date so that I can get the interview sort out.
Did the embassy expedite your request. Yes they did. My initial appointment date was 14th August, and my school is suppose to resume on 18th August. So I applied for an expedited appointment. And I got 23 July. I checked later and saw 21 July. Or better still call the consulate . |

Here Is my transcript as promised.. After passing through all initial procedures, It became my turn.
ME- Good morning ma (white woman, late twenties or early thirties) Vo- pass me your documents please (I gave her my passport and I-20, already arranged by the first counter I went to).
She types for a while , took my fingers print. I was praying in my mind.
Vo- what's your study plan in the US
Me- I intend to transfer to a pharmacy school after completion of course at blinn college. I already have a B.sc degree in biotechnology, so getting a (Vo cuts in)
Vo- so you already have a B.sc degree ?
Me- yes. From ......... university. So an associate degree in biology serves as a bridge and will compliment my initial degree which can then be used to transfer.
Vo- your school, is the transfer rate good? Me - yes, blinn has a strong reputation on high transfer rate. That's actually one of the major reason why I applied for the school. (She nods positively)
She asked a question about my school, but I can't really remember how she placed the question, as I don't cram and I answer from my heart.
Vo- who is your sponsor? Me- my uncle. He works as a lecturer in ---- university. my parents will then help with my pharmacy school payment. (She types for a while , I was praying silently why she types). Vo - good, what do your parents do?
Me- I told her (they own a small scale company individually)
Vo- are you going to stay uncle? Me-yes , that's the plan. He stays really close to my school ( Vo cuts in... oh, but blinn location says breham.) Me-yes . But my campus is -------.
Vo- I'm going to approve your visa. You have to travel with you I-20. Come to this location (gives me the white slip) to pick up your passport.
Me- thank you for seeing me.
Its all God's doing. Here is a prayer point for other students aspiring to study out. Psalms 51. Psalms 66... psalms 40: 1-5..... Isaiah 50:4-11... Isaiah 54: 4-7 Use it and have faith. Every thing is possible with God. Thanks to you all here, your transcripts educated me.
No documents were asked of unless passport and i20. No standardized test (although am going to take TSI assessment on my arrival). Blinn is a community college. For future students seeking visa, I would advice you do everything yourself. The internet is a powerful tool, use it, ask questions. During your interview tell the Vo nothing but the truth. Be confident. I have a clear study plan, so you should also... 3 Likes |

VISA APPROVED..... Hi users. This is my first comment, I actually joined today, although I have been reading and following comments made by other users on this thread.
I went for my F1 student visa interview today, 6.30am at Lagos consulate. Note : I graduated last year. admitted to a community college. I didn't take any standardized test. Sponsor - my uncle. My visa was approved today. It all God's doing. Provided you have a clear study plan, then the interview is no problem. Will drop transcript later. 4 Likes |
