Whynotthetruth: If you also carefully read the articles below, you will understand better why I conclude Jonathan failed woefully: http://www.viralsplash.net/2015/02/the-many-lies-and-failed-promises-of_4.html http://www.premiumtimesng.com/features-and-interviews/183866-nigeria2015-transition-jonathans-failures-achievements-in-five-years.html http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/184088-10-ways-jonathan-failed-nigerians.html I think you should save your questions for your ilks in the future. Your attitude confirms you have no regards to such rights. Do not expect any further comments from me! |

Whynotthetruth: 1. Please read the article below. I am sure you will gain a thing or two on the "transparency" I referred to in the new administration's fiscal policies. http://theeagleonline.com.ng/buharis-fiscal-policies-and-metuhs-trilogy-of-shamelessness-by-niyi-akinsiju/ 2. The article below will further aid your understanding on how implementing the TSA will fight adequately aid in the fight against corruption in MDAs. http://www.nigerianobservernews.com/2015/09/18/implementation-of-tsa-lawyers-support-buhari/#sthash.OF0PX6om.dpbs 3. Only a useless Nigerian will not jump for joy at the feedback from the ongoing investigation. We should pray never to be blind to our conscience. 4. I think your limited knowledge and understanding was clearly defined with your unsubstantiated response. Like the dodgy few on NL, you resorted to semantics, all in a bid not to accept that others are right. Please see the links below. It will be very unbecoming of you if you make this gaffe again. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/kachikwu-unfolds-three-pronged-strategy-for-nnpc-s-restructuring/217452/ http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/restructuring-of-nnpc-takes-centre-stage/219905/ http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/08/in-major-restructuring-buhari-shrinks-nnpcs-directorates/ 5. Ditto 4 above, your ignorance was also clearly displayed. You should be telling us what Jonathan did during his 5 years tenure on this subject as against making flippant remarks. Please see links below on the Ogoni clean up: http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/centre-lsd-applauds-president-buhari-on-ogoni-clean-up/218069/ http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/aug/07/nigerian-government-finally-sets-up-fund-to-clean-up-ogoniland-oil-spills http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/187884-unep-report-buhari-orders-fast-track-of-ogoni-clean-up.html 6. You asked for a proof, and I gave you 5. You can argue against them. But basking in your unsuitable conclusion is quite unfortunate. I think you overrated yourself. It is very vainglorious and a seed towards plunging to the depth of psychological doldrums for anyone to assume s/he has a right to demean others. Those who require dipping in other people's buckets or display aggressive behavior to gain strength are chronic victims of inferiority complex. Cheers! |

Whynotthetruth: I am certain I have kept this discussion civil and cordial so far. With the tone and temperament exuded in the post above, then it may be apt to discontinue this process. I do not think having diverse opinions should warrant personalized tantrums. I have often reiterated my hope in Buhari over Jonathan. Why should this bother you? A man comes in for 6 months after another had wasted 5 years and you are asking for like-for-like comparison, how? I have in previous posts and threads, condemned some of the decisions and inactions of this new government; is that not enough? I highlighted my views on laudable actions by this new government as you requested and you disregarded them with no justifiable reason but to make a rash conclusion. Haba, that is quite impolite and unnecessary. Maturity requires our ability to control our emotions as adults; only kids are permitted to act impulsively. Your opening remark is a display of extreme arrogance. You should learn to respect the views of others. This is the first lesson under "Emotional Intelligence". Wish you well! |

Whynotthetruth: 1. Ekitigate is worse. The players are known and we saw how military apparatus was cowed to do the bidding of a certain candidate, who was present at the shameful meeting. We heard how a party chieftain was alleged to be moving money from CBN for the purpose. That is an outright basis for disqualification and prosecution of the candidate. It is outright malpractice and a subset of rigging. At Bayelsa, the audio cited the incumbent expressing displeasure at the conduct of APC members and supposedly hired thugs. Just as PDP was accused in River State during the last general elections, any party could have perpetrated these evils. Unless the culprits are apprehended and confessions made, we can only but speculate. When such events occur, INEC is expected to cancel elections in such areas. This is exactly what INEC did. Just as I blamed the FG under Jonathan for not doing enough to secure Rivers during the last general elections, I equally blame the FG under Buhari for not doing enough. 2. It is completely foolhardy to adopt new members into a fold solely because they desire to defect. I concur that there are quite a number of rotten PDP members in the present APC, however, the culture is different. We can see Saraki and Dino struggling to hustle as usual. Atiku is presently dormant. Morally, Buhari is no saint, but miles ahead of Jonathan. The latter had no moral values with respect to corruption. Enjoy the rest of your day ![]() |

Whynotthetruth: Transparency in our fiscal policies. The implementation of the TSA (abandoned by Jonathan since 2013) will curb misappropriation by MDAs. This is very strategic at a time when revenue from crude oil, our major export product is dwindling. The unearthing of the "armsgate" scandal. The restructuring at NNPC. Ogoni oil spill clean up fund and plan. May God preserve us beyond 4 years. We shall have this discussion again. I promise to apologize profusely on or before then if PMB fails to deliver over and above PDP and Jonathan's poor records. |

It is karaoke time. I'm feeling the new Ibori. No need keeping quiet again. I think he technically danced around the allegation without any clear counter of the bribery event. What he however intended was to expose Obj's $5b bribe. Damn PDP destroyed Nigeria. Reason we are struggling with recession today. I think Obj needs to be duly probed too. Simply evil! 1 Like |

Just as I told my friend who was chanting marginalization, our leaders are the ones who have deprived us of our common national benefits. Till this day, "Ohakim's formula" is very much in use. Nigerian politicians are very very irresponsible! 86 Likes 9 Shares |

Whynotthetruth: Rigging should be completely abhorred and appended with a jail term. All the perpetrators should be punished. If this is pushed under the carpet like the "Ekitigate", then there will be no deterrent to forestall a reoccurrence. Apc had no business rigging Bayelsa. It is a very well defined PDP stronghold. Sylva is an unsuitable candidate. However, how APC represents Nigeria's problems till date without acknowledging PDP's contribution eludes me. I am sure history will condemn PDP more for the irresponsible leaders of the last 16 years. APC is on the way to ruins too if the leaders do not curb their internal over-filled unwarranted excitement of calumny! |

Whynotthetruth: It is a shame for thugs to have hijacked the process. In such centres, if confirmed APC is the erring party, PDP should be granted the maximum votes! |
![]() |
Whynotthetruth: I think the harangue is unnecessary. Voting late into the evening is not right, however does not warrant all these name calling. Buhari is no messiah. Some of us just think we will have a better leader in Buhari. He would fail in some instances but we have hope. Jonathan's 5 years of maladministration led us no where as at May 29, 2015 despite having 4 years of bounty. Pdp's 16 years have left our national purse depleted. |

Image123: I think pronouncing him guilty before the decision of the court is wrong. If the law permits any citizen on trial for certain offences to be granted bail, so should it be. This is what we have to bear with in deference to democracy. Some of us made efforts in our little capacities to see the last government removed for bad management. We will also not be pleased to have an autocratic replacement! 1 Like |

Image123: I do not think he should be ignored. I have only clamoured for his fundamental human rights to be enforced. He was arrested 14/10/2015 Granted Bail 19/10/2015 Met conditions of bail 20/10/2015 Refused bail by DSS 20/10/2015 Taken to court on 23/11/2015 DSS applies to discontinue lesser case of criminal conspiracy, intimidation and belonging to unlawful society; and charge him with a higher charge of funding terrorism after stumbling on evidences. Magistrate absent from court on 01/12/2015. The media alleged his father died. What an excuse. Next court sitting may be 14/12/2015 I have chronicled the events as I understand them. I do not see seriousness in the handling of this case by the judiciary members involved. The FG should have called the heads to order. His case has become an issue of national importance with an attendant risk of escalation. It took Yusuf's death in custody for Bh, a small group to emerge and grow into a monster. He should be given a prompt trial. If guilty he should dance to the slow blues. If innocent, he should be allowed to ho back to his wife and family! |

When you are dining with the devil, you use a long spoon. When they had a common cause to mutually oppose the maladministration of Jonathan's government, all was rosy. Now that the goal has been reached, the relationship got bleached. SR does not give a hoot. They can only keep your secret until there is a breach. They will roast you if you leave your cupboard open and expose your skeletons! |

PassingShot: Your opinion is respected. My views are quite clear. If he would tried, then it should be expedited. If granted bail, then it should be respected. If the government decides to incarcerate him indefinitely, the government should be prepared to manage the consequences. I'm Yoruba and I have been to Enugu and Ph within the week. Both cities were peaceful. We must maintain this calm by managing this aptly. There are better methods of managing a garrulous individual. My 2 cents! 4 Likes |

Applause for Dele! It is an overkill to keep Nnamdi Kanu indefinitely in custody or treat him like Dasuki. If the government feels he has a case to answer, charge him to court, but let him have a right to prompt bail. Today, more lives and properties have been lost due to his continuous unnecessary detention. I think Biafra has gone beyond Kanu. It is now a movement. Use of force on protesters who bear no arms will not quench the agitation of the movement. Buhari has poorly handled this melee. Wisdom is profitable to direct! 141 Likes 8 Shares |

Politicians who lack ideologies will always fall like a pack of cards. Dino and his ilk are obviously at the Assembly for reasons best known to them. Personally I think SR is a strange and amazing media outfit. They may be wrong sometimes but right many times. They seem to belong to nobody of political substance but present in every government MDA. 2 Likes |

Reading through the comments, my opinion: 1. The election will be free and fair. 2. Rigging and pre-thumb printing will fail. 3. Jonathan absolutely needs this election to be won by PDP, the same way Tinubu vehemently fights all the time for his party in Lagos. 4. Jonathan's acceptance of defeat in May is not a sacrifice. He was in charge of the Election, he had no choice but to accept the verdict of the people. Even if he had to contest the results, it will be after he vacated the office. Anything contrary to this would have had dire consequences and reduced him to nothing. He would have been thoroughly disgraced. 5. If Jonathan is not bothered as some commentators have said, then he will be capped the most unsuitable politician of our time. 6. Campaigning vigorously as a commentator mentioned earlier does not necessarily require media hype. Making frantic phone calls and privately meeting with stakeholders is a vigorous exercise you should not expect to see in the media. Hence there is no need countering the remark. The poster may be right with his assertion. Moreso, we do not see Tinubu moving from street to street in Lagos, but feel his influence. 7. Ditto 1 above, I strongly believe PDP will win. The recent unconfirmed revelations on some media platforms of the alleged gross misappropriation under Jonathan may have affected his rating and control among his people, coupled with arguments on Infrastructural deficit in the state may also have an adverse effect, but not suitable enough to slide victory in APC's way. In my opinion, Timi Alaibe may have had a better chance over Sylva. 8. I wish Bayelsans well. Both key candidates have had 4 years each with very little to show. Both candidates bring no new hope! 3 Likes |

I wish to commend Gov Wike for his visionary efforts to improve the infrastructure in Rivers State with emphasis on Port Harcourt. Even federal roads are being rehabilitated by the state government. Same way Amaechi started. I pray Wike stays consistent to the end (whichever end it is). 4 Likes 1 Share |

It is irresponsible and barbaric to use live bullets against unarmed protesters. There are other means. Kanu should be tried or granted bail accordingly. The management of this Biafra crisis should be among Buhari's top priority. The nation is burning from 2 out of 6 zones. Very very bad. Pro-Biafra protesters should also employ caution. The approach should be changed. There should be a centre for convergence that will not disrupt daily activities of others. The legal luminaries in their midst should champion a legal and less caustic approach to escalate to the world through foreign media and global courtd, any injustices perceived against the group. Through social media, signatures can be obtained from supporting members or indigenes who believe in the struggle. To uphold the tenets of their struggle, arson, wanton destruction and violence inciting messages must be abhorred. Wishing all my Igbo Pro-Biafra brothers and friends well. My 2 cents. |

My opinion: I do not support the entirety of the Bill. I support control of frivolous petitions to the Senate and Security Agencies with no basis other than to destroy and demean the victims. I disagree with the attempt to control social media commentaries. It is an attempt to mute the less influential online commentators who are by far doing a better job to check the excesses of government and unscrupulous individuals. Yes, there will be those who may abuse the medium, however, the existing laws on libel should subsist. 2 Likes |

vb0mb: 1. In our quest at sarcasm, it will be very inappropriate to equate Pro-Biafra groups with the very deadly BH. They should both not be mentioned in the same sentence where similarities are intended. 2. The leader of Pro-Biafra is known and unfortunately is in detention to undergo trial. Hence, direct investigations may have led to unearthing of certain fine details on the group's funding. 3. On the other hand, BH has grown so large as a terrorist organization with several tentacles, such that funding may be a global strategy from partnering organizations beyond the meagre contributions of their founding sponsors. I however think everyone who had a case in court with links to BH should be prosecuted to a logical conclusion. I know Senator Ndume once had a case. Not sure of the status of the case. 4. I sincerely pray for wisdom in managing the agitation of the Pro-Biafra groups. 5. I deeply pray for grace and insight for the security forces tackling the BH menace. I pray all the go-between directors will be exposed. 2 Likes |

Whynotthetruth: I cannot see it yet oooo. INEC has conducted only one election under Buhari, Kogi. I am yet to read of any strong reaction against the conduct of INEC by the candidates or the electorate. If I who supported APC in the last election can highlight in 6 months in 3 articles the undeperformance of the new administration, I think supporters of the last administration can also bulge at the least a bit and agree that the administration performed below expectations in 5 years. The focus for me is a better Nigeria. Come May 29, 2016, if no clear direction under Bubu's government, I will spearhead the vehement campaign for an impeachment. I think he deserves at least a year to show his stuff before we completely go for the jugular. No more 4 years of mediocrity and experiments. That died with Jonathan's government. Nigerians are more enlightened today than they were 4 years ago. I am happy my last opening remark made you laugh. Life is not always about who won or lost. Life is about objectivity over subjectivity. Enjoy the rest of your weekend ![]() |

Whynotthetruth: You may be right. I may be wrong. My opinions subsist. The answers to the queries you raised are for another extensive article. I am not very conversant with the North because I hardly visit or interact with indigenes from that part of the country. I have not affirmed Jonathan's performance in that neck of the woods except for the North East insurgency debacle which we all read in the media. The summary of the article is how past governments including the last administration have failed us and how the new government is teething at one spot on its way to failure if nothing is done fast. I am not aware INEC has lost its independence. Thanks for the inputs though. |

Whynotthetruth: I doubt Buhari would have accepted defeat. I however do not think his supporters would gave resorted to violence. If the votes in the core north reflect Buhari's dominance as voted by his core supporters and true to fact, the entire south and the middle belt vote for Jonathan, and results were collated, read and televised in the manner INEC did this year, and Jonathan emerged winner, i strongly doubt there will be violence. Bubu would also have had no choice to seek redress in court without drawing emotions or remarks that may incite violence amongst his supporters. The peace committee did a good job orientating and monitoring all candidates. Jonathan congratulating Buhari did not mean he could not have enacted his fundamental rights of going to the tribunal within the stipulated period to address any anomalies. Agbaje congratulated Ambode but still left for the tribunal. I guess Jonathan accepted the outcome as the wish of the people. A good and commendable decision if he was convinced he lost. For me, nothing more. Essence of elections is for a winner to emerge. Losers must fight their case through appropriate channels. My opinion though... |

Under past administrations - Ministers. They had near absolute authority over expenditure of allocated billions. This new administration - Senators. They seem more ready to put every one under check. I doubt Bubu will also give room for Ministers to show themselves. However, an excellent Minister will make greater impact than an excellent Senator. Ministers can conceive and implement great ideas. Senators can drive passage of good policies and Bills for signing into law by the President! 6 Likes 3 Shares |
