Celebrities / Here Is Why Kizz Daniel Might Not Get Bigger To The Level Of Wizkid, Davido ETC by realsaintfamous: 6:48am On Dec 02, 2019
Truth is bitter, only the smart ones will accept it to become better.
To describe Kizz Daniel as an Artiste, the word “Talented” is an understatement, he has proven himself to be a genius in the art of music.

Since his debut into the music industry with “Woju” in 2014, Kizz Daniel has not had any course to struggle for relevance in the music industry.

Vado has been hot year-in-year-out, there was never a year the sound of Kizz Daniel was not felt in the music industry. He is that good

One would have predicted that at this stage of Kizz Daniel‘s career he will be competing on the same level with Wizkid and Davido even before Burna Boy came into the picture.

Below are reasons why Kizz Daniel is still behind Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy:-

He is too Isolated
No matter how talented you are in the music industry, you will still need the support of some other artistes. Unfortunately, Kizz Daniel does not seems to have close ties with any other Artiste in the music industry.

Olamide does not joke with his relationship with Wizkid and Davido. Burna Boy and Naira Marley gained a whole lot from their relation with Zlatan.

Davido is big today because of his healthy relationship with a whole lot of artistes in the industry. Wizkid‘s relationship with Tiwa Savage is also paying off.

Apart from music collaborations which is always done on business ground, who is Kizz Daniel‘s friend in the music industry?

That question is abnormally rhetorical.

Pride
Why do you think its seems Kizz Daniel has no other artistes as friend in the music industry? Don’t you think it’s Pride?

The feeling that ‘I am better than anyone else‘ the feeling that ‘I am more talented in the music industry’ won’t make you want to relate with anyone else except people that want to lick your ass.

Pride is written all over Kizz Daniel‘s career journey. You all remember when he made Harrysong pull down the song “Selense” just because he doesn’t want himself and Reekado Banks on a song?

No need to say more. Let’s move!!

No Strong Team
If you are going to isolate yourself from every other artistes in the music industry, you will at least have strong team.

I don’t think Kizz Daniel has ever showed up at the concert of any other Nigerian artiste after sacking his manager who got slapped trying to get him on stage at Davido‘s concert last year.

Burna Boy wouldn’t have made it this big without a strong team of people managing all aspects of his music career well. Music is not about posting good looks on social media and good music.

At this point, Kizz Daniel needs a strong team that can propel his career to the world stage.

Sincerely, we love Flyboi and that’s why we need him to fly high. Hopefully, he will work on himself and 2020 will be a better year for him.

Guys

What Are Your Thoughts On This?

What Do You Think Kizz Daniel Needs To Start Doing So As To Get The Level Of Burna Boy, Davido And Wizkid?

We announce today that the decision has been taken to part company with our head coach Unai Emery and his coaching team.

Religion / The Bible Doesn’t Say Cosmetic Surgery Is Wrong - Pastor Tony Rapu by realsaintfamous: 9:09am On Nov 29, 2019
Pastor Tony Rapu has said there is no where in the bible that says cosmetic surgery is wrong.
.
.
In a video on his Instagram page, the popular cleric said: ''The bible is silent about plastic surgery and there is really nothing in it that tells us it is wrong, so there has to be other considerations. .
.
If a person is concious of a deformity or physical aspect of his or her body that is causing them some emotional discomfort, then cosmetic surfery is certainly an option. .
.
There are women who have had mastectomies and have had to have breast implants and we know many people who have benefited from surgerues, especially when the surgery is noninvasive and the side effects are minimal. .
.
There really is nothing wrong with enhancing the quality of a person's life by surgery especially when the person is able to breathe better, walk better, or talk better and especially when psychological health is improved.
.
.
The challenge is when surgery begins to be an attempt to meet an emotional void in a physical way or to attract unnecessary attention to a person, or to seek approval from other people. .
In some of these cases, we are then beginning to deal with psychological issues or deep seated insecurities in a person. .
.
If surgery is for sexual attractiveness, simply because you want to be found more sexually attractive, then perhaps you are dealing with a deeper issue in terms of esteem.
.
.
So if surgery is for enhancing a vanity, then we are dealing with issues, internally, that surgery would probaby never be able to satisfy.”

Crime / Four Medical Doctors Commit Suicide In Abuja by realsaintfamous: 4:05pm On Nov 28, 2019
President Association of Resident Doctors, FCT, Dr Roland Aigbovo has revealed that four medical doctors working in the Nigerian capital of Abuja committed suicide between January and June this year.

He disclosed this during a campaign against drug abuse, at Wuse Market. He did not give the names of the doctors. The campaign, part of activities to mark the association’s Health Week was aimed at educating traders and shoppers on the dangers of drug abuse.

He said that many people resort to substance abuse to ease off stress, adding that “people now take refuge in drugs to cover up stress, believing that once someone is high, he or she will forget their problems.

According to him, global burden of mental health disorder is projected to reach 15 per cent by the year 2020.

“This had resulted in suicide, a lot of people had taken their lives as a result of drug abuse. You will agree with me that suicide is alien to African culture, we are not used to taking our lives no matter the stress, unfortunately, things are changing.
“The medical profession is not left out of this menace because this year alone, between January and June, close to four doctors took their lives.
If those that have been trained to provide people with healthcare become patients to the extent of taking their lives, it is a source of huge concern.”

Crime / How School Principal Was Killed In His House By Lover's Angry Son by realsaintfamous: 10:42am On Nov 27, 2019
A school principle has been killed in his own house by his own lover's angry son in a community in Enugu state.

According to a report by Vanguard, there was confusion at Ibagwa-Aka, in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State on Saturday, following the murder of Ekwegbe High School principal, Simon Ugwuabor, in his house over love matters.

It was gathered that the deceased had allegedly snatched his lover (name withheld), from her matrimonial home where she had already had six children for her first husband and wedded her in the court as the lover’s family refused any traditional or formal marital arrangement with him.

It was further learnt that the lover had also given her new husband two children when one her sons from her first husband, Onyedikachukwu Ezeugwu, demanded that she should return home to his father.

Trouble started when the school principal refused to grant his request and even warned him to stop coming to his house to disturb his peace.

Sabastine Uramah, who claimed to be familiar with the story informed South East Voice that the deceased principal tried all he could to induce the angry son with money but he refused on the ground that what the mother did brought shame to his family name.

He further told South East Voice that the son was overpowered the first day he went to attack the deceased as he called the vigilante group to throw him out of his gate.

However, on what seemed like the day of reckoning, the angry son reinforced, equipped himself with pestle and surreptitiously jumped into the compound where he trailed the deceased and hit him with the weapon.

Eyewitness accounts confirmed that the late Ugwuabor, struggled out of his house and ran to a church opposite his house, seeking for intervention but unfortunately, the Christian Women Organisation, CWO,who were holding a meeting then on seeing him immersed in the pool of his blood and being chased with a pestle, all scampered for safety.

They confirmed that the angry son then overrun him and pummeled him with his weapon of warfare until he was sure that no life was left in him.

At that moment, eyewitnesses said, he waited there until Officers of Nigerian Police Force came to arrest him and equally carried the remains of the school principal with him.

Confirming the incident, the spokesman of Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, said the culprit has been arrested and handed over to the state’s Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation.

Crime / Corpse Of Taxify Driver Murdered By Passengers Found by realsaintfamous: 8:02am On Nov 26, 2019
The body of a Taxify driver, Gabriel Wisdom, has been found around Abijo in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro gathered that some yet-to-be-identified persons had contacted Wisdom to convey them to an unknown destination, but while on their way, the passengers allegedly pounced on the driver and killed him in the process.

The suspects, who are still at large, were said to have perpetrated the crime so as to dispossess Wisdom of the car he used for the cab hailing business.

After perpetrating the crime, the suspects dumped the driver’s remains on the scene and stole the Toyota Corolla car.

Wisdom’s friend, Deji Saliu, who shared the story on his Facebook page, said the deceased got the car on hire purchase and was due to complete the payment in December before the events that claimed his life occurred.

Saliu urged the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, to investigate the events that led to Wisdom’s death with a view to bringing the perpetrators to justice.

He wrote, “Wisdom, a Taxify driver, was killed on Friday night by men, who ordered his ride. He was killed at Abijo and his car taken away. Please, the public should assist to repost to make sure that Taxify takes up this case to investigate through the SCIID and get the call logs and location of these guys. It is doable and a lot have done it.

“Taxify needs to protect its agents and also the drivers, because we all will be affected when drivers decline night movements or don’t carry more than one person. This is a fight for each and every one of us. It could be anybody, so, lend Wisdom your voice so that justice would be served.

“He was on hire purchase and would have finished paying next month. We need your support, please rebroadcast and tag on various pages. This is not the first time, Taxify needs to wade in and start an investigation.”

A picture attached to Saliu’s Facebook post on the incident showed two men carrying Wisdom’s remains from where the body was dumped in the Abijo area of Ajah.

Reacting to the post, one Ola Kuti, while mourning Wisdom, said it would be hard to track those who perpetrated the crime, because they usually used unregistered SIM cards to lure their victims.

He wrote, “Trust me dis bastards fit don move; there are some locations u don’t do no mata wat, starting from 10pm; na greed dey make most Taxify/Uber driver fall victim of dis bastards, they might offer u offline with some crazy bills; for ur mind, u go think say na good offer not knowing they have got bad intentions.

“It’s really sad wen I see tyns like dis online Allah; no mata watin Taxify/Uber wan do, if u doing night job and ur instinct ask u not to go, kindly decline if them wan block u make dem block u; it’s betta dan putting ur family in a sorrow mode. It’s sad anyways but trust me, most of dis guy don’t use registered SIM cards; but if the car is got a tracker, they might get the bastards. Rest in peace.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had ordered homicide detectives to take over the case in a bid to arrest the perpetrators of the crime.

“The incident happened under the Elemoro Police Division and we have launched an investigation into it. The Commissioner of Police has ordered homicide detectives to take over the case to ensure that the perpetrators are identified and apprehended,” Elkana stated.

Crime / How Two Siblings Beheaded My 10-year-old Son - Father by realsaintfamous: 10:12am On Nov 19, 2019
Mr Kayode Makinde, the father of 10-year-old Joseph Makinde, who was beheaded by two siblings, Saheed and Ayodeji Obadimeji, on Monday, narrated to a Lagos State High Court in Igbosere how the duo killed his son and held on to his parts at the police station.

PUNCH Metro had reported that Saheed, 19, and Ayodeji, 18, had on November 27, 2018, around 8.30pm, allegedly beheaded Joseph in an uncompleted building at Sapati, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, over N200,000.

The siblings allegedly lured Joseph into the uncompleted building by sending him to buy a beverage drink for them and when he brought it, they held him and cut off his head with a knife.

The duo alleged that they were contracted by one Sodiq Abefe to produce a human head for N200,000.

The defendants were arrested by the anti-kidnapping operatives of the Lagos State Police Command and were subsequently arraigned before Justice Adedaye Akintoye on two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and murder.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The offences, according to the prosecution, contravene Section 222 (1) (a) and are punishable under Section 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

At the resumed hearing on Monday, Kayode, who is the first prosecution witness, told the court how he saw one of the defendants holding his son’s head, while the other was holding his torso at the police station.

Kayode, who told the court that he knew the defendants and that they live in the same area of Sapati town with him, noted that they were from the same mother but different fathers.

The bereaved father, while being led in evidence by the prosecution counsel, Yusuf Sule, noted that one of his neighbours, identified simply as Femi, had sent Joseph on an errand on the next street to help him withdraw money from an Automated Teller Machine when he was accosted by the defendants.

Kayode said his son left for the ATM around 6.30pm and did not come back, and when a search party was constituted to look for him, he could not be found and a case of a missing person was reported at the Elemoro Police Station, Ibeju-Lekki.

He added, “The following day, I returned to the police station and the police took me to where a patrol van was parked and showed me the rear of the van, where I saw the dead body of my son. The first defendant was holding his head, while the second was holding the body.

“The police arrested Femi, who sent my son on an errand to the ATM; they took the defendants to Panti and at Panti, I was asked what happened and I narrated what I knew to them and they told me they were working on it.”

Under cross-examination by the defence counsel, Emma Nidiyo, Kayode reiterated that he saw his son’s body parts with the defendants and that they confirmed at the police station that they killed Joseph, adding that his son was not a friend to the defendants before he was killed.

Justice Akintoye adjourned the matter till January 20, 2020, for the continuation of trial.

Politics / Osinbajo's Aide Blows Hot, Proofs That VP Led Prayer Session For Buhari Death by realsaintfamous: 7:00pm On Nov 13, 2019
Laolu Akande, the spokesperson of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has debunked allegations that he prayed for the death of President Muhammadu Buhari at a church in Ogun State.

This is coming on the heels of a claim made in a Sunday opinion piece by a veteran journalist and columnist, Dr. Festus Adedayo.

Adedayo had, in the piece, titled, ‘The Trials of Brother Osinbajo,’ said he received information that Osinbajo in a gathering with members of the church, prayed for the death of the President when the latter was away on medical leave.

Adedayo alleged that the strain in the relationship between Buhari and Osinbajon started when a confidante of Buhari, who was at the gathering, informed the President of Osinbajo’s “sinister plan.”

However, Akande asked Adedayo to provide proofs to such allegation while alleging that the article is part of desperate moves in some quarters to create a division between the President and the Vice President.

Akande said: “Mr. Festus Adedayo’s article is a sad descent into the gutter by this gentleman. When a professional columnist of Adedayo’s age and experience puts his reputation behind outright fiction and absolute mischief, usually it is a sign that the poor fellow is compromised. This is the sad reality we face today and it is truly troubling.

“But let us give Mr. Adedayo the benefit of the doubt. Let us assume that he has some facts to support the reckless insinuations and innuendoes in his article.

“He should then be able to answer the following questions.

“He claimed that the Vice President, together with some Redeemed Church ‘accomplices’, gathered to pray at someplace unstated in his home state of Ogun, at a date that was not indicated, for the purpose of interceding for the VP to become President, and by extension, hoping for, or seeking the death of the President.

“So where exactly in Ogun State did this prayer session take place, and when? Was it in a church, in which case there would likely be an audio recording? Who are the prominent pastors or other persons involved that can testify to what transpired – what are their names?

“Who is the “strong Buhari ally” who made a surprise appearance at the gathering and brought the story back to Mr. President? If, as Adedayo claims, the VP has been hounding and haranguing this Buhari ally since then, why is it so difficult for him to cry out and publicize his strange discovery?

“Who primed Onnoghen to “package Buhari inside a judicial casket” during the 2019 elections? And to whose benefit? If, for any reason, the Buhari election was nullified by the judiciary, how would that benefit his running mate, since they contested on the same ticket?

“These asinine stories put together by Mr. Adedayo betray a more evil motive. The Vice President’s commitment to the service of the Nigerian people under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is unrelenting. But there is a desperation in some quarters to create a division between the President and the Vice President.

“It appears that they need some well-known press names who are prepared to write anything. But for what reward? One wonders. They clearly found one here, as the writer’s jaundiced article bumbled from the realm of baseless claims to outright fiction.

“We do not expect an apology from Mr. Adedayo to the Vice President. This is the style of these professionals gone rogue. They are prepared to smear others and stick to their vile stories. Their conscience seems unperturbed by their recklessness. But, again, we give him the benefit of the doubt, let him answer the questions we have asked,” Akande said.

The Edo Peoples Movement, a faction of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state, on Wednesday announced the suspension of Governor Godwin Obaseki; his deputy, Philip Shaibu; and the Secretary to the State Government, Ogie Osarodion.

Announcing the suspension at an enlarged meeting and press briefing held at the residence of Gen. Charles Airhiavbere in Benin, Mr. Patrick Ikahriale who read the speech on behalf of EPM said, “Governor Obaseki, his deputy, Phillip Shuaibu; Anslem Ojezua and Osarodion Ogie (SSG), from available information from top leaders of the PDP, have concluded plans to defect from the APC and seek re-election on that platform.

“For us the authentic APC stakeholders in Edo State, we wholeheartedly denounce such.

“We wish to state that at the appropriate time, the APC National Working Committee will initiate the process of party primaries for the selection of the party’s gubernatorial candidate.

“We will abide by the guidelines for such primaries as the constitution of the party vests the responsibility of conducting primaries on the NWC.

“We are prepared to give every aspirant equal opportunity to test their popularity. We will resist any attempt to close the political space,” Ikahriake said.

“Consequently, we hereby suspend Governor Godwin Obaseki, Hon Phillip Shuaibu and Barr. Osarodion Ogie from the party for anti-party activities and urge the National Working Committee to set the machinery in motion for further disciplinary action against them,” he added.

Sports / Touching Story Of VICTOR MOSES That Will Make You Cry by realsaintfamous: 6:15pm On Nov 12, 2019
This is the story of a young boy whose parents were murdered during 2002 riots in Kaduna. He was aged 11 years at the time. His parents, Mr Austine and Mrs Josephine Moses, were missionaries until they met their untimely death.

The boy left his house to play football but returned home to see that all his parents had laboured for had been razed down and he would never see his mother and father again.

He was taken to London by his uncle almost immediately after the incident. While in London, he began deploying his football skills. Though his parents were murdered, his passion for football was never killed. He played football for his school and later for a local Tandrige League club until Crystal Palace FC approached him. From that point, his career progressed in leaps and bounds.

This player played for England's under 16, 17, 19 and 21 teams between 2005 and 2010 scoring 11 goals for England during this period. He later moved to Wigan Athletic and now he plays for Chelsea. This footballer is called VICTOR MOSES.

His story is a touching one, I share his pains. I also share his courage. When the call to serve his fatherland came, Moses dumped England and embraced Nigeria... That is patriotism!

Today, we see a Victor Moses bringing joy to every Nigerian including those who may have inspired his parent's death... That is Love!

On Sunday, Moses would stand for the National Anthem and pledge allegiance to a country that couldn't defend his parents... That is faith!

Moses would deliver the "African Cup of Nations" trophy to Nigeria not minding what had happened in the past... That is forgiveness! Moses rose through bitterness and despair to the limelight of hope and courage.

He never gave up on his country. He persevered... That is purpose!

If someone like Victor Moses, despite the bitter past, never gave up on Nigeria, then why should we.

He said the contempt proceedings is to compel the DSS Director-General, Yusuf Bichi, to justify in court why the agency had disobeyed orders directing that his client be released.

He said, “I was reliably informed last night by a security official that the government was currently fishing for evidence.

“An attempt is being made to file a fresh charge on Tuesday so that there will be an excuse that ‘we are arraigning them in court, hence we are unable to release them’.

“If you recall, that was what was done when Justice Taiwo Taiwo granted Sowore bail on September 24.

“For a whole week, the order of the court was flouted. And then, of course, on September 30, he was arraigned together with Olawale Bakare.

“We are ready for them.”

Asides the contempt proceedings, Falana said his legal team also had plans to file an application under the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules to challenge “the illegal detention of Sowore a week before an illegal order was procured to detain him for 45 days.

Human rights activists and civil society organisations had vowed to storm the DSS headquarters on Tuesday to collect both Sowore and Bakare that were arrested on August 3 and 5, 2019 respectively.

Crime / So Sad! See What A Male Lecturer Physically Did To Some Female Students In Aau by realsaintfamous: 10:52pm On Nov 10, 2019
This happened in my school today Ambrose Ali University(AAU) where a lecturer physically abused some female students

National Association Of Students Activist Condemns The Physical Harassment Melted On Timinimi Deborah And Osaghale Rosemary By Mallam U.A.C Aliu Of The English Department

The Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma prides itself as a cosmopolitan University and over the years has maintained the status quo of excellence among her peers in Nigeria and the world at large

I now see the reason for the backwardness of my Nation, we blame those at the corridor of “power” forgetting those at the corridor of “education”; the corridor of “common sense “.

I am a discussant of History and it has made me realize that from time immemorial, whenever there is a problem in the society, tertiary institutions are places of solace, they are citadels of solutions.

The government would go to schools to consult undergraduates, lecturers; professors as they posed to be the backbone of the society. Now, Nigeria is in shambles, the economy is crumbling.

That Mallam U. C. Aliu of the English Department physically assaulted a student of the English Department.

That Ambrose Ali University who happens to be in the *ASUU/STUDENT committee* who are poised at maintaining cordial relationships between Student and lecturer have since been harassing and placing fear in the mind of students who are ready to learn. *HOW THEN DO WE NOW CREATE A WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH LECTURERS AND STUDENT?*

In-Line with the Student Handbook and Degree 27 who guides both staffs and students it’s against the law to harass student on any ground but rather invoke the law

On this ground, we hereby call on the Student Union Government and management of the university to wave into the issue and find a long-lasting solution to the subject matter above as its already becoming a habit and a day to day activities of lecturers who are supposed to be friendly and not a Conglomeration of Academic Ignorami.

Politics / Nigeria’s Presidency, National Assembly Filled With Witches – Priest by realsaintfamous: 6:39pm On Nov 10, 2019
A Catholic priest in Nigeria has said that the nation’s presidency and the National Assembly, including government houses across the country, are filled with “witches” who are “responsible for the death” of many Nigerians.

“Don’t get carried away, which witches and wizards am I talking about? It’s not all those ones they say fly at night and with brooms. Ah, those ones are not your problem.

“The witches and wizards I am talking about, they are in the presidency, in the National Assembly, in government houses,” the priest, John Oluoma, said in a sermon last month in Abuja.

The sermon is on Mr Oluoma’s personal website, www.froluoma.com.

Mr Oluoma, according to the website, is a priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja.

What the priest meant here, apparently, is that leaders who have held down Nigeria, including ordinary citizens who have failed in their service delivery, thereby leading to loss of lives should be branded as “witches”.

“They are civil servants, they are politicians, they are Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba. They are Catholics, Pentecostals, Protestants, Christians, and Muslims.

“If you are given money to do road and you don’t do the road and somebody has an accident because of bad road and die, what do you think you are? You are a witch! You have taken blood.

“You are given money to equip hospitals, you refused to build the hospital or even equip it, and the medical attention that would have saved somebody is not there and the person dies, what do you think you are? You are a witch!

“In Nigeria, pensioners would be queuing to take their pensions of N50,000 and they wait and wait until some would die because somebody doesn’t want to push their file or somebody has swallowed the money meant for their pensions. And you tell me you are a human being? No, you are a witch!

“Those are the ones you should be afraid of, forget about the ones that some men of God would be telling you about. The witches and wizards that have killed destinies in Nigeria they are presidents, governors, senators, members of the House of Reps, civil servants, and contractors.”

Mr Oluoma said Aso Rock, the nation’s seat of power in Abuja, has truncated the “destinies” of many Nigerians.

The Catholic priest also called out Nigerian pastors.

“Another set of witches in Nigeria are fake pastors and men of God, those ones who have given people wrong, pseudo-religious theories. They have destroyed marriages, bankrupted businesses, and made people to start thinking backward. They even block you from seeing where your real problem is coming (from).

“Men of God that come into a family and a brother would become afraid of his own brother,” he said.

The priest, who was teaching his congregation on why Nigerians should be grateful to God, said Nigerians are only surviving by God’s grace these days.

“That you are still alive in Nigeria, you should be giving thanks to God. The things that can kill, the things that have killed hundreds of thousands of people are still there and they seem to be increasing.

“If it is not bad road, it can be a reckless driver. If it is not a reckless driver, it can be a dubious spare parts seller who would carry expired brake pad or inferior one and tell you it is original, made in Germany. And then you’ll pay money for it.

“If you escape all these ones, what of armed robbers, bandits, Boko Haram, herdsmen?

“Even common malaria that has been eradicated in some countries for years is still killing people in Nigeria.

“What about quack doctors or fake drug dealers?

“If you escape all those ones, PDP is here to kill you. If you escape PDP, APC is there. If you escape APC, the Nigerian police is there,” he said.

Politics / I’m Better In Bed Than Yahaya Bello - Sen Dino Melaye [VIDEO] by realsaintfamous: 1:15pm On Nov 10, 2019
Dino Melaye, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi west senatorial district rerun election, says he is better in bed than Yahaya Bello, governor of the state.

Melaye, who will face Smart Adeyemi, his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, in the November 16 exercise, said this during one of his campaign outings.

The appeal court had sacked the PDP lawmaker and ordered a fresh election in the senatorial district.

While addressing a crowd at a rally, Melaye said he is better than the governor in many aspects, adding that he is more handsome, taller, educated and sexually active.

“I want to assure you the kind of development we have not seen before, salary payment is compulsory, paramount, mandatory and a must,” he said.

“You all know Yahaya Bello, there is nothing I don’t have more than him. Number one, I am taller than him. Number two, I am more handsome than him. Number three, I am more educated than him. And if it is ‘kere wa wa’, I can do better than him.”

“Kere wa” is a lose form of referring to sex in vernacular. It is unclear when Melaye made the statement.

He had lost his bid to secure the PDP governorship ticket and subsequently rejected the offer to lead the PDP governorship campaign.

Musa Wada, who clinched the party’s ticket, will face Bello, still on November 16.

Politics / Abba Kyari: The Untold Story Of President Buhari’s Chief Of Staff by realsaintfamous: 7:37am On Nov 08, 2019
There is a popular saying that has since gained traction in the social media, which is to the effect that if you want to know how difficult it is to govern Nigeria, create a Whatsapp chat group and become its administrator. It is only then that one gets to see how naughty some compatriots could be, deliberately refusing to hearken to simple rules set to provide for smooth inter-relations in the group. For me, this gives a good background to the Abba Kyari story, who many Nigerians see as a legend, a hero of sort, and who others, perhaps in millions, perceive as a villain.

I came into personal contact with Malam Abba Kyari In August 2011, exactly four years before President Muhammadu Buhari appointed him his Chief of Staff in 2015. It was the very day the board of Leadership Newspapers Group was appointing me as editor of the flagship, daily title. Abba Kyari is a very close personal friend to Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, my boss and benefactor for life, and he was in the newspaper’s headquarters in Abuja at the time I was being interviewed. It was Sam who asked whether I knew the man, to which I answered in the negative. But when he mentioned the name, I asked whether he was the same person who served as Managing Director of the United Bank for Africa, one of the top four biggest banks in Nigeria at the time. Abba Kyari wasted no time in strongly recommending me for the job.

But I soon started having issues with Abba Kyari owing to his penchant for thoroughness and perfection. He was never a staff of the company, but was behaving like the Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper, and everyday, he will sit me down and tell me the many things I did wrongly. I became his true friend when a few months into the job, the errors were becoming fewer, and he would at times leave the office of the publisher and sit with me in my office in the very vibrant newsroom, asking whether I had challenges and needed his help. Once it was production time, however, he would wish me well and take his leave, saying he didn’t want to distract me.

One day, I had a problem with one of my supervisors and made up my mind to resign the post of editor. The woman was more or less personalizing her differences with me, and was clearly making life very difficult for me. I felt I needed to keep a safe distance from her, and could only gain that when I no longer work in the editorial department. So I entered the office of the publisher, and met him chatting with Malam Abba Kyari. I did not even extend to them the courtesy of greeting when I interrupted their conversation with a stern demand for the publisher to assign me to any other department in the company. I told him in unmistakable terms that I could no longer work with that woman.

Mr. Nda-Isaiah was shocked. The post of editor of a daily newspaper was one of the most lucrative in the industry. It brings you close to the men (and women) of power, who call you everyday needing one favour or the other. Strangely, here was I throwing all of it away on a platter. So shocked was my publisher that he couldn’t utter a word. He just looked at me in amazement. It was Malam Abba Kyari who spoke first, and the words he uttered have remained deeply etched in my memory since then:

“Editor,” he said, “you are not going to resign. The company will not accept your resignation letter even if you submit one. So go back to your work and learn to tolerate others. Learn to grow a thick skin and always remember that what is important is the work you have been assigned to do. Don’t allow critics or anyone to distract you.”

I bursted into tears. He waited until I cried my heart out, but still repeated those words. I felt a deep hatred for him for being so callous – or so I thought.

It was now time for Mr. Nda-Isaiah to talk. He was a man of few words who clearly felt disappointed that the man he so trusted with such a big responsibility was kind of betraying him. He minced no words in telling me how disappointed he was, saying he never knew I was a weakling. He ordered me back to the newsroom to carry on with my job. Both men supported me in every way they could, until I left on my own volition two years later. Even my resignation at that time was only possible because both Malam Abba Kyari and my publisher had traveled out of the country.

If there is one thing I hate, it is opportunism. And so, as a personal policy, I try to keep some distance from friends or benefactors once they assume a position of power, unless they make deliberate efforts to draw me close. I mostly only resume that relationship after they leave political office, and this is one policy that has been serving me very well. And so, my contact with Malam Abba Kyari has been rather limited since he assumed office in the State House four years ago. But I make bold to say he is one person who does not forget his friends, even if they choose to keep a distance from him, as I have chosen to do.

There has always been the urge to write on this man of excellence who, as a one time editor, played a key part in shaping my career as a journalist. The urge to help him became even more pronounced from the moment Kyari started getting heavily criticized by many compatriots who wrongly felt he was amassing too much power as Nigeria’s President Chief of Staff. But I always didn’t want it to look like I was being opportunistic. And so, I allowed the man to get all the bashing, amazed that my compatriots could not see that it is the office, not the person, that is so powerful. And it is the same with that kind of office anywhere in the world.

At the age of six, my father (of blessed memory), though a Muslim, enrolled me into a Christian missionary school that had what used to be the biggest church in old Kano State. When he was challenged by my grandfather, my dad told him he did so deliberately to broaden my worldview and prepare me for the realities and challenges of multi-ethnic, multi-religious Nigeria. I thought I was cosmopolitan enough until that fateful day when the duo of Malam Abba Kyari and Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah taught me a lesson in tolerance, and on the need to develop a thick skin so as not to lose focus on anything I set out to achieve. Though I can at times be emotional, that lesson has stuck with me and is responsible for much of the successes I have achieved in the journey of life.

I am one Nigerian who, therefore, is not in the least surprised that Malam Abba Kyari has continued to weather the storm, carrying on with his duties with little or no distraction. Four years before he got his current job he had asked me to develop a thick skin against criticisms and see that as a way to improve myself. And here we are, the teacher was being severely tested. With all the insults and misrepresentation against his person on daily basis, I thought he was going to give in to pressure and throw in the towel, as I threatened to do as editor of Leadership newspaper. But for him, he was doing his best, to the satisfaction of God and his principal. He must have concluded that he is not the first high office holder in Nigeria or elsewhere to be so abused and misunderstood, and surely he is not going to be the last.

Writing on Malam Abba Kyari, a good friend of his for many years, Professor Emmanuel Yaw Bennett of the University of Ghana, pointed out that the Chief of Staff to the President is operating on three cardinal principles, the first of which is that “he will not allow anyone to mislead the President through misrepresentation. Secondly, that he will not allow the President’s integrity to be violated, and thirdly, that he will not allow Nigeria’s interests to be subordinated to any other consideration.” This, surely, is bad news for those who feel they can have the man cowed by sponsoring endless insults and criticisms against his person.

Only someone with a thick skin, and a very thick one for that matter, could insist in operating on these principles. Naturally, those who have been stopped by Malam Abba from taking undue advantage of the President’s innocence – and there are a vast number of them – would not be happy with the Chief of Staff. And to get back at him, they go to town with all sorts of false tales about the man. A prove of that could be seen in the fact that the office Malam Abba holds is one that relates everyday mostly with elite members of the society. One therefore needs to ask why it is that ordinary members of the society, who hardly have direct relations with him, are more vociferous in attacking and condemning the man, especially in the social media.

For those who want to understand why President Buhari bestows so much trust and confidence in his Chief of Staff, here is another story.

On May 1, 2012, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah attained the golden age of fifty. His friends and key staff members of his media conglomerate felt we needed to celebrate our boss in a big way. But there was a problem: he preferred a rather quite celebration.and so, we secured the buy-in of his dutiful wife, and working in concert with her, we planned a nationwide birthday bash that included a public lecture to commemorate the event. It attracted the cream of the Nigerian society, with the legendary General TY Danjuma presiding.

Mr. Nda-Isaiah, a man with the lion heart, strangely became emotional as he was delivering his speech. He bursted into tears when he mentioned the name, Abba Kyari. He was narrating how instrumental Kyari has been in getting him achieve so much at that age, and General Danjuma had to calm the celebrant down by bringing him a cup of water.

The lesson here is that once you allow Abba Kyari to come close to you, one of the biggest benefits you are going to have is that he will play decisive roles in improving your life. He had done that to me. And I was only getting to know he was doing same to my boss at that occasion. Operating on the three principles he set out for himself, as enunciated above, Abba Kyari has done quite a lot to protect President Buhari from some hawks whose negative influences have played key roles in wrecking many administrations in the past.

Perhaps capturing Kyari’s resourcefulness even more succinctly is the maverick politician, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode. He was on record to have stated that he “studied at Cambridge University in 1984 with Abba Kyari, President Buhari’s Chief of Staff. We sat next to each other during our final exams and I can confirm that he is brilliant. He also worked in my father’s law firm, Fani Kayode and Sowemino for years and he was one of the brightest.”

Four years ago, President Buhari took over a nation in total mess, with the economy almost collapsing. He had two options at the time: to simply sit back, fold his hands and ultimately serve as the country’s undertaker, or take decisions that may be painful, but which will at the end of the day make Nigeria attain its rightful place in the comity of world’s greatest nations.

Successful administrators globally have always insisted that a leader makes or mar his administration from the appointments he makes, especially of those that will work with him on everyday basis. Contrary to all speculations and false insinuations, that is the only reason President Buhari had to search far and wide to pick from among the best that will help him achieve the noble objectives he set out for Nigeria.

Luckily for the President, he appointed someone who would rather take the bullet to ensure the President survives. And so, for students of the science of power, Abba Kyari is a classical study of an aide who has redefined loyalty, selflessness and commitment at their best.

Is Abba Kyari undermining Vice President Osinbajo?

One of the false stories being hyped in the traditional but especially social media is that Malam Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to the President, has been engaging in serious insubordination by undermining Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. A very respected news medium recently published the story of a memo submitted to the President by the Vice President, which Kyari allegedly sat on for weeks, before reworking it to include things that are different from the earlier submission made by the Vice President.

I am not sure of the veracity of the story, but even if we assume it is true, the reality is that only in Nigeria will such ever be an issue. This is so because in this clime, there are people who read tribal or religious meanings to every action taken in the Presidency, especially of President Buhari, who has been enduring accusations of bias in appointments, even though in his first term, he appointed more Christians as ministers, and far more projects are being executed in the South, rather than the North he hails from.

The truth is that globally, the presidency is deemed as one and the same. God has never created the perfect human being, and so, in any presidency, especially in saner climes, even the most junior public officer could correct the president of the country and no one could misread that to mean insubordination. In other words, memos originating from the desk of the president or his deputy could be strewn with errors, and it is the duty of those working for the president to correct those errors.

It is possible Vice President Osinbajo had made the submission being bandied about. The Number Two Citizen is definitely one of the brightest minds ever to assume the office of Vice President in this country. But did Professor Osinbajo himself ever staked any claim to perfection?

When I first started maintaining a column in the New Nigerian newspaper over a decade ago, I picked on another columnist, incidentally a personal friend, with who I was exchanging articles for editing. Based on our agreement, he would very critically look at my write up and, even if he did not find any error, still rework some paragraphs to make sure it was better than what I sent to him. I was also doing the same to his own, and before long, we were attracting large readership, based on the reader feedback we were receiving.

So it is only because in Nigeria, we see the presidency along tribal and religious lines will it ever be an issue if, or when, the Chief of Staff to the President reworks a memo earlier submitted by the Vice President. The Professor Yemi Osinbajo that many of us know will not knowingly submit a memo without the best for Nigeria in his mind. But does that mean it becomes an offense if someone in the same presidency picks out ideas that serve the best interest of Nigeria better? Does that mean Professor Yemi Osinbajo also engaged in insubordination when he took many actions that were at variance with those of his principal, President Buhari, when he held sway severally as Acting President?

Twenty years ago a major newsmagazine was doing a cover story on the then speaker of the House of Representatives. The editors, all of them gurus in the media profession, were looking for an apt headline to capture the essence of the story. A security man passing by them saw the cover design on a computer screen, and uttered the word: face of a liar, without knowing he was by that solving a very major problem. The smart editors there and then got the headline they suffered so much looking for, and used it, without minding the fact that it came from an uneducated security personnel.

Malam Abba Kyari, who even his enemies submit is a very intelligent man, was appointed to the office of Chief of Staff by President Buhari to help him get it right for Nigeria. Even the purveyors of the story did not claim that he rework the story to favour his own person. He did so to ensure Nigeria gets a better deal. And since that is also the aspiration of the Vice President, how does that become an offense?

Also in his 2020 budget speech before the joint session of the National Assembly, President Buhari categorically pointed out that Nigeria will need more revenue to be able to execute the many noble projects and programme enunciated in the budget.

Working in cahoots with the National Assembly, President Buhari identified the urgent need to amend the Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract Bill to get for Nigeria far bigger revenues, for the overall good of the country.

The President felt there was no need for the country to lose revenue by waiting for him to return from his two weeks private visit to London to sign the bill into law, and asked his Chief if Staff to bring it to him for immediate endorsement.

But the prophets of doom went to town with all sorts of ridiculous stories that it was an open humiliation for the Vice President, as if leaving the shores of Nigeria is stripping Buhari of his powers as President. The presidency has issued statements, repeatedly disputing wild claims of infighting in the corridors of power, but the naysayers are unrelenting in insisting there is a fight, as if that’s what we want to advance the cause of the country.

Nigeria is governed by laws, and the law does not insist that President Buhari must transmit power to his deputy if he is not on a prolonged stay abroad. Interestingly, this is a president who, on his own volition, not once, not twice, handed over full reign of power to his deputy, because he was staying longer than the days mentioned in the constitution.

In situations like that, as Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said, the President is at liberty to govern either within or outside the shores of Nigeria, as no President anywhere in the world loses his power on account of brief stays abroad.
