A Nigerian man, Shalom Olumide Ayotunde, 39, has been sentenced to federal prison for fraud violations in the Eastern District of Texas.

This was announced by U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston on Thursday.

Ayotunde had pleaded guilty on July 1, 2021, to passport fraud, false claim to U.S. citizenship, wire fraud, and false statement to a financial institution, and was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison Thursday by U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant, III.  

He was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,067,000.

According to court documents, in June 2018, Ayotunde provided false identifying information in his application for a U.S. passport, and in doing so, also falsely claimed to be a U.S. citizen.

Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, has revealed his principal’s retirement plan.

A popular nightclub, Voltage, in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State Voltage, has threatened to drag Ayra Starr and her record label, Mavin Records, to court for ‘disappointing them and breaching their contract’.

The ‘Bloody Samaritan’ crooner, according to the club, was billed to perform at its first anniversary celebration of Options Lounge.

It explained the show scheduled for Wednesday, January 5, at club Voltage, couldn’t hold as scheduled following the development which occurred for the second time.
