I applied for a 3 year work Visa but the validity in my passport is From 19/11/2021 - 17/02/2022. Is this how it is supposed to be on the passport? I'm confused. |

Hello everyone, If someone does priority processing, is it in the morning of the 5th day they provide feedback or evening. Today is supposed to be the 5th day since biometrics but I haven't heard anything. Thanks for responding. |

It should be IELTS for UKVI General. The life skills is for settlement not skilled worker route. 3 Likes |

Uzland:I did my biometrics today. It was IELTS that really caused the long wait. I did naric same time I did IELTS but they responded today that the processing is complete. I logged in but didn't see anything to download. Thank God I went for two options |

For someone that didn't upload complete document to TLS using self service, can he pay to get it uploaded when he goes for the appointment or it's over. I noticed document upload cannot be modified. |

Oftentimes, people complain that their visa processing times exceed the 5 days stipulated for priority processing. This is to provide insight into why some visa processing times may be delayed beyond the stipulated 5 days for priority. Below is an excerpt from the TLSContact booking site. “How long does a Priority Visa application take? UKVI aims to make a decision on your Priority Visa application, and contact you to let you know that your passport is ready to be collected within 5 working days from when you submit your biometric information. However, every application is unique, and if your application is not straightforward, it may not be possible to meet this timescale. If this is the case, your application will still be put at the front of the queue at every stage of the decision-making process, and UKVI will aim to process your application within global customer service standards. Your application may not be straightforward if you have: • been refused a visa for the UK, and/or; • been refused leave to enter the UK, and/or; • been deported, removed, or otherwise required to leave the UK, and/or; • overstayed a period of leave in the UK, and/or; • had leave to remain in the UK curtailed by the Home Office, and/or; • been refused leave to remain in the UK by the Home Office, and/or; • been refused a visa for Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United States of America, or the Schengen countries, and/or; • you have been interviewed, detained, or prosecuted by the police for any offence in the UK or elsewhere, and/or; • you have an unspent criminal conviction in any country, and/or; • you have committed a criminal offence in any country. If you fall into one of these categories, you may not want to use the Priority Visa service, as UKVI may be unable to process your application within the 5-day timescale.” I'd like those that their visa processing times for priority have streched beyond the 5 days to kindly state whether they fall into any of the categories above so that others can be properly guided. You do not have to state the particular category you fall into, just indicate that you fall into one so that we do not accuse them for falsely. 1 Like |

For someone processing a visa for family members (say wife and child), if he books priority for himself and then standard for the wife and child, will the wife and child's applications be treated as priority or his own application will be delayed because the wife and child's own are standard? |

I have been able to make the payment. |

Does anyone have an idea what it will take to reschedule biometrics with TLS if it is missed? Can he get the very next day? Thanks |

Does anyone know how long a migrant on a skilled worker Visa is expected to stay before he can be allowed to purchase a car or get a house mortgage? Thanks. |

For those of us that don't have anybody in the UK, what should we put when filling in Phone numbers in the UK? Also this address in the UK of a thing, can someone be denied visa if not provided? |

Hello gurus, Please pardon me if my question appears trivial. I'd like to know how this TLS booking works. After completing the online visa application and making payment, are you automatically scheduled for the next available date/time or you are at liberty to pick a preferred appointment date (subject to availability of course)? Also for the NARIC proof of English proficiency, is the e-statement acceptable or I must wait for the original certificate to be delivered first? Thanks for responding. 1 Like |

To the best of my knowledge, your current location, place of work and phone number in your CV will suggest to them where you are located at the time of application. If they decide to continue, it means they already know they'll sponsor. You can also subtly ask them during the first interview about sponsorship. Eg. How many years sponsorship do you usually give? Or besides international passport, is there any other documents that'll be required of me before getting sponsorship. Something like that. 11 Likes 3 Shares |

@RennyKitty MOD do not offer CBT option for UKVI. You might want to confirm from British council as well so that you can rightly prepare your mind. |

@RennyKitty Calm down and read the question that was asked, then read my initial response. That’s like the fee the organization hiring you is meant to pay to l apply for your CoS which is around 1820pounds plusb199 pounds CoS certificate fee Once a company has license to sponsor, you do not need to pay for them to apply for your CoS, except they do not have the license and you want to sponsor the license for them. I wasn't referring to flight ticket and all that. The person that asked the question already said he knows about the trip and visa fees thing but the CoS thing just came up. My response was to the CoS fee not travel expenses. Of course who do you expect to pay your travel expenses for you? 3 Likes 1 Share |

@RennyKitty What exactly will the company ask you to pay for? As for the issue of agency and visa charges you mentioned, we have not even gotten that far, we are still talking about job offer, so why will they be asking for Visa and related fees? That been said, who ever wants to pay can do so out of curiosity, just be kind enough to share your experience for others to learn. After all if MMM come back today people will still get involved. 5 Likes |

Ajibolaoi:No. It is the company that will pay the agency to help them recruit you. 9 Likes 1 Share |

RennyKitty:Cheap scam. You do not pay for CoS. In fact, the organization does not apply for CoS on your behalf, once they are licensed to sponsor, they can issue anybody they employ CoS. It's just like saying you pay for an employment letter. As per the certificate, CoS is not a certificate per se, it just bears the name. It's a pdf document that contains your details and the company details. When applying for Visa, you just pick details from there to fill a form, you are not submitting the CoS to anybody like it's one certificate. As a rule of thumb, try to avoid paying for any job offer, even if you think it is genuine, a company that asks for a fee before employing you is not worth working for. 28 Likes 5 Shares |

L4fire:CoS can be issued once the company decides to employ you. Mine took 3 days after they made an offer, it could be the same day if they want. Provide any information they want on time and follow up with your references to respond on time as well so that there is no delay from your side. In the CoS letter, there is a column for whether the company will take care of you for the first month, if the company tick 'Y', you will not need a bank statement or PoF, if they tick 'N', you will need a bank statement or PoF. Since you have gotten this far, I advise you to book for TB test and write IELTS to avoid delay when the CoS is eventually issued. Mine has been issued for a couple of weeks now but I haven't been able to apply for Visa because the approved TB test center didn't have an available date that was close and IELTS will take 13 days to come out after writing. Even if you are skeptical, booking for the TB test is free and you can pay on the day of the test, so just book and secure a date. Are you in IT and which country within UK did you secure the job? 6 Likes 2 Shares |

For a skilled worker going with the wife, will the wife need to present proof of English proficiency like IELTS as well? Thanks for responding. |

Ibrixy:I can't tell. You can check the list of shortage occupations vs list of companies with sponsorship license in gov.uk |
![]() |
@Gentlesoul3268 It's to just keep applying to companies that are licensed to sponsor. Target shortage occupations. |

When filling the application form for skilled worker, they requested for where I'll be staying. The company has said they will provide accommodation for one month through silver door apartments (just like Airbnb), during this time, I'm expected to sort my accommodation. So there's no particular address yet. How do I fill this out. Someone help please. |

For English proficiency for skilled worker Visa, they just stated IELTS SELT Consortium: 'IELTS for UKVI' or 'IELTS Life Skills'. However when I went to register, I saw IELTS for UKVI Academic and General module. Which should I register for? Also I couldn't find the option for online. It takes shorter to get the results if written online compared to paper based one. Has anyone done the online version, how did you register for it? |
