You are right.
Mcy56:

Based on observation of today's pattern of trading sir.
23M volume was sold despite the huge bids, the volume can only increase in tomorrow's trading.
Also said that based on the recent short term plays as well as the fact that it's an individual bull, not general to the market.
Not in any way saying the price will still not go up ooo, but profit taking will be coming in between........I may be wrong too.

Madam, why do you foresee serious profit-taking in UCAP? The yield is still ok for some people and I think the profit taking will come around 4.25plus
Mcy56:

Dont mind them. grin
GTB closed at N28................
UCAP: Serious profit taking will take place in tomorrow's market. People collected/collecting their div on the floor already.
They'll now come back to crash the price so as to enter lower and chop dividend again. grin

BAMOFIN1:
I will appreciate if my Ogas can explain the following concepts to me especially as each relates peculiarly to the NSE
a) market makers, their functions, advantages and disadvantages, are they enemies or friends of retail investors;
b)pre-market: the participants and its purpose and do they have more privileges than ordinary retailers
c) why does the sales engine close at 2.15pm yet you still see trades effected at 2.30pm
d) what real as opposed to theoretic protections do an ordinary investor has against loss of his money in a stockbroker account, especially a one-man controlled brokerage firm and
e) how do some traders use posting of huge bids or offers to manipulate price, assuming somebody call their bluff what will happen?
Thanks as you educate me.

[They are selling AIICO PFA. The wrong move in my view.quote author=TLAX post=86788245]

@Bolded contradicts your opening comment.

I have never seen any company that dilutes shareholding and raises money via rights issue for fun. The group needs the cash and they need it desperately too. Barring poor market conditions they would have done the RO last year. That is why in addition to PP and rights issue, they are also selling their AIICO PFA to a Merchant bank.

There is a world of difference between retained earnings and cash and so while all the accounting indices may be pointing to a healthy company, the guys are cash strapped.

That one about significant dividends to help people buy rights, i think its wishful thinking. [/quote]

Oga OGG, These people will have seats on the Board and will be entitled to so many freebies, same cannot be said of me ooo that just wants to have small shares in the company. To be honest the outstanding shares will become bogus and the EPS will not be anything to write home about.
onegentleguy:

Ur a smart fellow.
...but this is just one of it.(NTS lines in view)
With that though, it makes sense to expect that the said rights issue(which some folks had reservations for, including u) may likely be priced @ a premium to or equivalent to N1.20
The leapfrog PE guys are not fools u know. The fund is still hot in there, if u know what I mean.

Again, when u read through certain lines from the NTS, estimate and extrapolate figures, u'll find that there's really no need for the proposed rights.(ditto EM, COMBINED RATIO and SHAREHOLDERS FUND)
There's a craft to take away from the impatient ones.
We understand these things. wink cheesy grin

It is well.

If their results did not come in by February 29, 2020, then they will pay fines and penalties to SEC. Why will they want to pay dividend when they still have loans to pay back? The company only has to show positives and investors will swoop on their shares. Paying dividend will only put them into more troubles.
Mpeace:
No be scam oh. That stock has places to go. Expect exceptional dividend payout. Result should come by first week of March.
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 12:28pm On Feb 19, 2020
A good entry price for long term investors. If it drops lower, then you buy more but I am always hesitant when I look at Zenith and I see similarities
OakPearl:
Those who will go and queue up for GTB at N34 are ignoring it now at N28.75.
Na so. grin grin grin

If it is dividend, Zenith is always better but if it is capital gain, Gtbank is the Boss.
Mcy56:

If GT and Zee are paying dividend within same range , I think Zenith is far better to accumulate then.
I expect Access to do better than last year.

Which other companies do you think will benefit from this revised excess dividend tax laws
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 4:16pm On Feb 18, 2020
The company is now in an era where they can always afford to pay out about 75% of their PAT because of the revised excess dividend tax law. As long as they do well and sustain the profit at N4/5b, shareholders will be fine.

The major attraction for ucap is the dividend, the numbers are not so impressive.....

people are happy bc people predicted doom that since treasurybill has gone. nothing good can come out of ucap except kaya
But it proved them wrong at least with good dividend

A stock that was sold for less #2 not long ago paying 50k is worth celebrating and heart warming.

If he is waiting to collect 5m dividend from Ucap then village people must be on top of his case. the capital gain should be enough. 10m units appreciating by N2 is better for him. I am happy for those that waited to take their own portion of the goodies in the bearish market.

Fear of unknown. I wouldn't blame them.....but it seems some people got hold of the info before closing, it appreciated in price to close at N3.

Zenith looking to pay N2.70 why is anyone selling?
Mcy56:
So, GTB support broken. Let's see if the next support will hold.....
Zenith, very resilient this time around. 19.60 support broken, went down as low as 19.40 ......but closed at 19.50. Huge offers couldn't cause massive dumping as may be expected. So also UBA....
Access, holding firmly to 9.70 support
Fbnh 5.95 support broken, closed at 5.80...
Tomorrow is another day, God willing. smiley
