Good morning[quote author=Redfang post=112105718]

I have been worried sick on paying for MRV and booking for visa interview. I understand that only far dates are available now, and I can
I saw online that if you pick the far date, that you cannot reschedule for an earlier date. That is, if I pick Feb 2023 for instance, would I be able to reschedule when closer and favourable date for 2022 appears.

These earlier dates are like rainbows, so before you’ll get to the bank, pay, and then log in, boom! they’re gone. Lol
I think it’s better you pay and do the date search, and yes, you can reschedule for a closer date if you chose a far date.
You can keep making updates on the DS-160, (I THINK the contents times out in 30 days) so you don’t loose what you’ve filled

You can pick any available date then request for emergency 60 days to the start of your program

Good morning everyone, I’m a new user here and I need your guidance on how to go about scheduling visa interview date. I’ve paid my SEVIS fee and filled the DS-160 form. Next stage is the interview appointment, my resumption date is Aug 7th, should I pick any available date presently or I should wait till 60days prior to resumption and request for emergency appointment? I will really appreciate anyone who can put me through

Hello house please help. My sponsor wants to open a nutrition based company in Nigeria (it's not been established yet), hence his reason for funding my studies. Would it wise to say that my getting a master is conditional to my managing this business here in Nigeria. Do I have a strong case using this as home ties?
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Redfang: 5:12pm On Feb 11, 2022
I've seen a rare case where someone's payment did not expire after the one year, so check your payment status.
rockywall:
please my previous sevis paid is over one year but my school issued me a new i20 with same old sevis number ...l want to know if i need to pay a new sevis fee because Am having a problem trying to pay a new sevis fee because the system said a new payment may not be required but l read somewhere that sevis fees expire after one year... please any suggestion?

When are you planning to re-shoot?

Do you’ve a date yet?

Just want to know how urgent it is. Anyhow you can reach out to Me as the last option after you hear from the bosses.

PS: Don’t forget only basic change(s) can be made to your concurrent ds160, reason being the 1st own you went to interview with has been saved on your profile, so any change(s) you’re to make, you already have a reference in their system.

E.g: You changing like a Job experience, that you already filled before.

You know you can’t ‘un-work’, I mean, you can’t tell a VO that you didn’t work where you said you worked before. The VO would easily asked and if not asked sef, you’d appear to the VO like “This one no sabi wetin him dey do sef”.
Like, I said they already have the info you saved with them at hand already and would ‘definitely’ be for long.

Don’t forget that you also need to work “WHAT HAS CHANGED?” before your next trial.

That’s my own 2cent.

Goodluck!!!

Please @fairheart, @walspring, @housegirl, @lagosismyhome, @ all the gurus in the house I need timely help. Na beg I dey beg, I need help with updating my ds-160. I got denied the last time because of how it was filled, now I don't want to make any mistakes. I'd enormously appreciate it if you could reach out to me, please. I hope I sound polite enough, plssssssss contact me, pls
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Redfang: 9:02pm On Feb 09, 2022
I'm sorry I don't understand, what do you mean by course and I'm asking because I'm updating ds-160. Thank you.
Moshkom:

Please, explain in details. I mean, find a story to tell and how it’s changed.

E.g Like, talk about how your course of attendance was high then, and how it’s ‘low’ now; and easily can be pay by your sponsor.

or

How the VO see that you don’t have home ties before now you’ve propose to your long time Lover and you’re to marry after your study.

Come up with something and end it well.

PS: Everyone that got denied before were given the SAME form (home ties). So, going to be too basic filling just that form section for the denial reason.

Las Las, all na GRACE but still let’s walk towards our own Grace path.

Goodluck Champ!

even though it's a new job, I still feel it's better to use the job related to your program, besides that best describes your current circumstances so fill out everything on your DS form in that order starting from the old job to the current job

Thank you

Good morning comrades. Please I need help with my ds-160. I got a new job this January which is in line with my course of study, but I've held a previous job for close to five years now which I'm still into(it's a self-employed kind) and it's not in any way related to what I'll be studying in my master. My question is this, should I fill in both jobs or should I scratch the one that's not related to what I'll be studying? Thank you as you read and respond.

Filling for the whole program is more appropriate. That's another way of assuring them you are financially safe for the entire program and not just for the first year... All the best!

thanks a lot

Good morning all. Should my sponsor fill in the amount needed for the whole program or should he fill for the 9 months which the school requested for. Thanks in anticipation.

Hello Guys,

Please can someone who resides in the US pay the SIVES fee with a credit card on my behalf?

I'm asking this because on their website it says credit card payments are not allowed for residents of Nigeria.
i don’t know if your third party can pay through credit card, but I do know he/she can pay through money order. That was the only possible means my third party could use to pay for mine.

Congrats bro! This is excellent news!

Please, if I may ask, what are the rules around phones and other valuables? Is there somewhere there one can keep his valuables for safe keeping- some outlet that receives cash for this service?
in Lagos there is, I think there should also be one in Abuja.

Gurus in the house please help ooo. As someone that has been denied visa before, do I fill a yes or no in the part where it asks if you’ve been refused visa before in the ds-160
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Redfang: 6:28pm On Jan 12, 2022
A happy 2022 to us all. I got denied in Lagos in December 2021. Unknown to me, the person helping me fill my ds-160 wrote that this masters would help me get a good job when I’m back home, and I answered another thing when I was asked by the consular. Now I want to reapply and fill a new job I’ve been working in since this month, what are my chances of being approved? Thank you as I look forward to a reply smiley
