i once lived in such a compound...early in the morning if your car was blocking any other car, you jejely go and repark outside the gate so as to avoid banging on your door later...one of my neighbours even had a funny method... he will just keep his car key on his footmat for anyone he is blocking to remove his car, take your own out, repark for him and drop his key grin grin grin
and we all lived in harmony...

when the guns are for you you rejoice...when they are turned on you you wail!!!
this is just terrible...rivers know violence, politics and entitlement....they hear gun shots and rush to the area bare chested to see what is happening..me i take cover sharply.
you know our army and police are not well trained to separate threats from civilians...
so if you are near a threat better run....
seen a police operation in rivers and okada men were boldly driving in the that direction whereas we were advised to turn back...
sorry for the destruction of properties and loss of lives

question though: where did the army find all those weapons displayed?

WE IGBOS SHOULD MOVE BEYOND A PHYSICAL BIAFRA....BUILD THE IDEOLOGICAL BIAFRA FIRST

we excel in many areas of endeavor, time to strategically take up the five or seven mountains of societal influence albiet in Nigeria.
Economy, Government, Family, Spirituality, Education, Media & Celebration
or Religion, Family,Education, Government, Media, Arts & Entertainment and Business as some sources list them.
Isreal moved forward with its ideology, became the strongest power bloc in US elections and now set to produce a Jewish President in Bernie Sanders...
look at the list above and name any major stakeholder in these fields that is does not have at least one of jewish origin...

when we igbos can do same here...then tell me of Biafra.....

its clear that our generation needs to see and act beyond this attack him attack her mentality.
she mentioned salient points that pervade our civil service that need to be addressed
1. workers poor attitudes as backed by superiors
2. tribal sentiments disrupting the functioning of the civil service
3. senior civil servants not acting civil at all to one another
4. synergy not antagonism is required in and between ministries and parastatals

indeed where there is no vision, the people perish.
if our generation will bring change, please lets look deeper and each one to his own

My people, I took another look at the money paid for this fencing, and became afraid. Only 16 plots has paid for fencing of their plots, meaning that less than 1/3 of the plots has paid for this ongoing work.

We don't know what will happen as regards prices of materials and labor costs especially when the rains come. I may only end up doing a third of this fence, and the gate house might be put on hold if more people don't pay more money for us to continue.

By tomorrow I will publish all plot numbers who paid for fencing, and those owing us. Please encourage us to serve you better.

please let this good work not stop for any reason!!!!
time to put the money where the mouth is...and eyes also GUYS
this work impresses me and i come like thrice daily to see updates
well done Sire

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Staying Back After NYSC by reflx(m): 1:37pm On Feb 10, 2016
hello Betty...
top of the list is safety
second consider accommodation
thirdly what do you really want...
are there other options apart from home?

my experience....i served in katsina, lovely place...gave me accommodation a gardener and all, tempted me to stay behind with an awesome pay package... BOKO came along and after NYSC you just become a government statistic (two killed, five dead etc.) i reconsidered. never wanted to return home after service....so i called my sister and went to stay with her (asked her to give me six months). did some crazy stunts then. had about 30 copies of my CV and armed with it i went far and near...office to office, online etc. for the first two weeks. nothing worked! felt bad and almost crazy. then in anger one evening, i opened my phone and saw an advert for an interview the very next day about three streets from the house. called and booked, went next day and got the job!!! grin
wish you the best!

the siting of filling stations in Nnewi has always bothered me...one small corner between two residential houses and you will find a filling station...poor town planning right there...
our people are always not safety conscious....no plans and procedures...preloading checks and all
sorry for the losses but we can do better!
