I guess you finished school 2 years ago, before going to do your NYSC the following year. Meaning that you left school recently and are still 'fresh off the boat'. That's cool. However, concerning your 1-year gap after NYSC, you'll have to come up with something to cover up. Never mention you were idle all these last 1 year. Using working experience as alibi will be perfect.

@Amefrica this post by @bigfrancis21 has cleared it up for me. Thanks to you both.

I have to ask though, is there a place on any of the forms to be filled out and taken to the embassy, where I have to fill out, what I've been doing for the past year? Or where I'm working now?.

Hi everyone,

Nice job here, I've been following the thread for a while now and decided to register and ask a question and also help others in anyway I can.

I got accepted to a University to get my masters degree. I should receive my I20 soon and get a date for my interview. But what has been on my mind is I finished my nysc last year and I haven't been able to get a job since then. Is this going to work against me in the visa interview?

This is my first post so please forgive me if I don't get it right. Thanks
