Ricky Rozay: There's a good chance the VO will request for it. Remember I told you I almost didn't take mine, and the VO requested for it, a grad student that didn't have his with him, was denied as soon as he said he didn't bring it to the interview. Think its a new trend at the embassy. |

Ricky Rozay: I'm good. The weather is crazy though. I'm getting ready for classes too. |

@mandybaby2007 I think the same VO interviewed your cousin and I that day! The young male vo. He gave all students before me except a guy that was obviously over 35 and was going for undergraduate studies. |

Before I share my experience I want you guys to help me thank @Ricky Rozay. He really contributed to my visa approval, he was so patient with me and all I can say is he's such a great guy ![]() My interview was for 7:30, I left home early and got to the embassy quite early but didn't get interviewed till past 9. VO: hello dear Me: good morning sir with a huge smile VO: how did you hear about this school? Me: I did a proper research on the internet on schools that best fit my academic goals, using review sites such as princetionreview.com, usnews.com and gradschools.com and I came up with this school. VO: why did you choose this school? Me: I chose this school above the others I reveiwed because I had the opportunity to interact with a professor in the school, her name is Professor Lisa Casanova and she told me about reasearch we would be carrying out periodically and how it would give me a comprehensive knowledge in the field of public health also the school's curriculum is deep and highly structured more than the others I reviewed. VO: ok. What did you major in as an undergradute? Me: Microbiology VO: so why the switch to public health? What's the relationship? Me: I did my industrial training in a public health laboratory where I realised that I wanted to be involved not just in the treating of diseases but also prevention. VO: did you take any standardized test? ME: Yes, I took both the GRE and the TOEFL VO: Do you have your score cards? ME: Yes. (Hand them to him) VO: why didn't you do so well on the GRE analytical writing? Me: I ordered a book online but the book got to me late so I didn't have much time to prepare for the writing before I took the exam. VO: Can I have your Waec result? ME: yeah. (Hand it to him) VO: ok. Who is your sponsor? Me: I have a scholarship from Nigeria and my uncle will take care of the rest. VO: (looks at my I-20) ok. What does your uncle do? Me: (told him) VO: that's a government establishment right? Me: Yes, it is. VO: can I have his bank statement? Me: yeah. (Hand it to him) VO: what do you plan to do after your studies? Me: I plan to come back to Nigeria to work for the bla bla bla state government. VO: ok dear. Pick up your visa at bla bla bla and best of luck in your studies Me: Thank you. My advice please anyone going for graduate studies take your waec result along. @Ricky Rozay thanks again! 4 Likes |

conyema12: Happy sunday guys... Yes, you have to wait for your I-20, because you need your SEVIS identification number to make the payment. Since you have someone in the US, got to fmjfee.com, click help, then got to print form I-901. You will see instructions on how the person can make the payment for you. I hope this helps. |

Tochium: Thanks. I was thinking I'll just say I've been doing volunteer work to help me get experience for the career I hope to build when I get back (this is kind of true). What do you think? |

kunlebal: Well if you say the ICAP is the best option, its ok. I did the basic one because I had sent copies of my transcript to the school already. From my understanding the only difference between the ICAP and basic is that, in the ICAP your transcript will be included in package sent to the school and also stored for future use. But in the basic, just the evaluation is sent and stored for you. I might not be right, but like I said this is just my own understanding. |

UNIXLover: Hello fam, You have to send a photocopy of your certificate to them. Your transcript should be sent to them directly from your school. The Basic course by course evaluation, which is required for graduate school application is $160. For each copy you want sent to a school its $30, then each delivery costs $7 (one copy will be sent to your home address, its standard) The evaluation should take about 2 weeks. But your credentials will be sent back to your school for verification -this is where the problem lies. It took 2 months for my school to verify my credentials, and I heard all they have to do is send an email to WES. I hope this helps. |
