reading Yoruba comments on this topic is very saddening.Granted Gani Adams and OPC have allowed themselves to be used by Jonathan and PDP politics...is what he is saying wrong? Can Yorubas unleash violence on any Northern community without repercussions?Wouldn't Northern Youths quickly mobilize to extinguish that danger before police visit the scene? Who protects Yoruba in their homeland under the reality that Nigerian security forces are already compromised? No one is saying it must be OPC but there is a need for local security systems by Yorubas and other ethnic groups that is independent of Nigerian police. A lot of Yoruba people seem to be living in a bubble that they don't seem to realize that Nigeria and Africa on a whole is a very insecure region.Go read historical books on African history and you will realize the region is just as insecure as she was in the 18th century.Folks keep on looking at the middle east...is it not the same Africa that is bedeviled with tribal fighting, genocide, religious killings etc?UN and other international bodies do not care about if Sub-Saharan Africans kill each other o. 5 Likes 1 Share |

T9ksy: Oyo State governor backtracked on his original statement of not accommodating grazing areas in the state for Fulani Herdsmen....he is implementing grazing areas for them.My own is I think he may have been coerced after his original statement. It does seem like truly Fulanis own Nigeria. Sadly Yoruba leaders are shameless.I only see Fayose and Mimiko not giving into grazing reserves.Lagos also may not give in due to her not having enough land. Oyo is already gone...so it's only left for Osun and Ogun state which I think they will bow to pressure. ![]() |
