ignis: 1. For the first visa refusal, reason stated was that my declared monthly income wasn’t what was coming into my salary account every month. I am paid per day so when I don’t work I don’t get paid and I simply stated what I earn when I work for 30 days. I wrote a cover letter and explained this. 2. Second refusal acknowledged and agreed with my cover letter but stated that my monthly expenses exceeded what was reflecting in my bank statement. It also stated that for some deposits I had on the second account, information provided didn’t reflect origin of funds. This surprised me. I had clearly stated in my cover letter that I moved funds between the 2 bank accounts submitted especially from salary to savings. ECO interpreted all outflow as expenditure. Secondly, I mentioned receiving occasionally monetary gifts which amount to just 100k and It was mostly sent close to my birthday. I don’t know how else I could have proved this. Finally, I lent someone money, submitted screenshot of the debit to the said named person, and that person paid me back 50 percent , and I equally stated it in my cover letter. I honestly do not know how else I could have done this because all points noted in second refusal, I had already written a cover letter to explain them with some proof and still got the refusal with these reasons. It’s been a year now, and I’ll just want to know if I can move on with my application without a cover letter because I don’t even know what I’ll write again. Please advise |

Please, if you’ve been refused visa ( visit visa) to the UK, must you write a cover letter when applying for study visa? I was refused 2 visit visa applications last year with the second one in August and I’m applying for a study visa. The visit visa application was to sit for exams for some courses I had done remotely( online) and I’m now applying to the same school to sit for the exams and complete the entire course ( as I couldn’t do anything more because of the refusals) Please advice. Thank you |

Thank you for your response. However, the entire program lasts for 9-10 months of being studied in the UK and people studying this full time in class are issued Student visas. This I know from colleagues who are currently in school as well as from the institution who initially asked if I wanted to take that route. However, if you choose remote or distance learning, you can only apply for visitors visa to write the exams Kukujajaja: |

Good day house. Please house, I need your advice. I am currently running a program for Professional marine certification and studied online with the plan to sit for the exams in the UK as that’s the only place it can be written. Because I opted to study it remotely due to my job, the school did not issue a CAS and asked that I apply for a visit visa since I am only meant to sit for examinations. I accepted and applied the first time and was refused. There was only one reason stated and it was because they didn’t understand my payslips. I reapplied again and carefully explained in a cover letter and even explained everything else I felt might be an issue. Again, I was refused and this time, it was a totally different issue with same set of documents i submitted in first application and I had explained fully everything I felt might be an issue. I really didn’t know how else I could have proven my statements other than my explanations and proof I presented. The second refusal was in August and I have to endeavor to finish my program. I was advised by the institution to follow the study visa route. My questions are 1. I am planning to put in an application by February, which is in 6 months time. Is that enough or should I wait further? 2. In the proof of funds I submitted in my first 2 applications, I actually didn’t have much as I had invested in stocks and cryptos which weren’t accepted as POF for visit visa. Is it fine if just after 6 months, I am able to raise almost 10,000 pounds as POF ? Although I can get this by liquidating my assets. I hope it doesn’t raise any eyebrows. 3. Do I need to write a cover letter explaining the first 2 visit visa refusals or just stick to stating the reasons for my next application? Thank you |
