Bawolo I was in agreement with u nothing the point where u said some people dont have a choice. That's a big fallacy, U dont run out of options until u stop looking for them. |

Sauron If I had a family house in Naija. I would even be thinking of selling it to become an illegal immigrant (cleaner) in the UK. I would prbably go for an education loan using the house as a collateral (the school could actually be ibn the UK). Finish school work for a while, pay off the loan and come back home to start something nice, noth neccessarily a blue collar job. But the young dude does wanna go thru the stress of schooling, doesnt wanna go thru the stress of thinking. He would rather mortgage the family wealth and come play big boy in the UK. U really need to see the way they make living in the UK sound like. Need to see them on facebook. |

Africans are simply lazy (cant think hard enough). They want it rosy and ready for the picking. See that able bodied young fella working as a cleaner, cleaner. Haba. |

Dayo Ur old office, what's the min u can get? Is that ok for a young man who is not greedy? Tell me u dont know alot of young men/women in Nigeria with annual earnings of close to N20m, are they with 2 heads. Seun Osewa, Dbang, Nice are they not Nigerians? So what the Bleep are u talking about? Dayo, most if not all of my ex-classmates work in either banks, asset mgt outfits or oil firms and they earn a good income that's taking them home. Leaving ur country illegally is criminal and also immoral. It shows u re lazy. Beining lazy, in this age has got nothing to do with work, it is simply not thinking hard enough. Dayo, y did the likes of Tunde come back home. He could have stayed over dodging cops and low life punks. Tell me he's not big and comfortable here in Naija. I can bet u the guy lives larger than most of these illegals, who could have achieved the same thing if they had been as deligent as the guy. |

Need to re-emphasis this: Going abroad is not bad, if u go as a student, a professional etc not when u go hidding from the law and being humiliated. Peole like Dayo and a whole lot of Nigerian Youths are doing us proud there. But when u go as an immigrant u re simply an embarrashment to ur nation. A sizeable part of Ni comes from money from overseas and it helps keep alot of us employed back at home. We appreciate that, but i get angry when ma brother gets hassled by white men who think they re superior and he's shouting "ejo esi lekun awon eyinbo ni o" on the Internet. |

And how much do u get to save monthly? we need to quantity ur self esteem that's been eroded monthly and deduct it from Exepndable income. |

None of them earns less than 200k per month. How much is 200,000 Naira per month?? Thatz less than 1000 pounds a month. A cleaner actually makes more than that. . . . Blimey, a security officer makes TWICE as much so where is the penury?? One thing u have to realise is half of those your classmates are still living under their parent's roof. . . .Is that your idea of self esteem?? Yes N200k some with more. Some with official cars and with PEACE OF MIND. No one calls them FUCKING IMMIGRANTS and they re adding a whole lot to the local economy. |

Dayo apostrophes are used in 2 instances. To show ownership e.g Dayo's or to shorten is e.g it's a boy. It is in no way used to express plurality. I go finish u like ur friend Ife-Eco. By the way ur sist is right here |

Nigeria1 Safe overseas, who do u think u re deceiving? Tell it to Damilola Taylor, or Justin Fashanu or the Igbo business man killed in China. Better still, tell it to the numerous Nigerians killed in the September 11 attack. My friend wake up. No one is saying dont travel overseas, am just saying at least get the right skills and qualifications, go in as a professional. See the Indians, the Lebanense, they are respected every well they go to. |

"Ejo esi lekun awon eyingbo lo wa mo wa ni bise" - Please open up it's the white folks, they came to pick us up at work. That's the height of humiliation. That guy cant be less than 28, he lost his Dad and so what, lost mine at age 10. Problem is he didnt bother to improve himself, no education and he wants to live big. Now he's a shame to his family, his tribe, his nation. My advice to the young man, pls come back home and start something, even if it's a cleaning outfit. I have got this friend. He spent 10 years in Ukraine, was studying medicines. Unfortunately, the dad stopped financing his education. He had the option of either staying back and humiliating himself or coming back and doing something with his life. He opted for the latter, he 's in the country, a chartered accountant, runs his owning executive cleaning outfit. Belive him he feeds his family, fuels his car, clothes himself and has dignity. |

The solution to the problem is to embark, aggressively, on the programmes that would get the North as educated as people in the south. Apparently, the government both at the Federal level and the state level are just not interested in doing this. NGOs and private indivuals shd take it upon themselves to educate these young people in the North. Instead of our chhurches building big edificies in the south, such money shd be invested in educating the youths up north. Cant imagine an educated young man with prospects and a good future picking up arms over mundane issues such as delay in supply voting material. |

A few weeks ago I tried convincing a younger friend of my not to travel using falsified papers. He asked me for money to purchase tickets. He was abadoning his education for a trip to Syria. Now he's gone for 4 weeks and no one has heard a word from him. He was to travel from Syria to Spain and under the disguise of being a footballer. His family is worried sick at the moment. I really wish I had stood my grounds and insisted he continued with his studies, he had just 3 more months to graduate from school with second upper degree in Banking and Finance. It's pathetic and heartrendering. |

Kobojunkie Pls stop trying to find excuses for what is inexcusable. Are the rest of us in Nigeria dead? Aint we living and are we not happy. It is greed and lasviciousness that result in these acts. Tears rolled out of my eyes when i heard the young man saying "Ejo esi lekun o". Shame on those who squander our resources, they are the ROOTCAUSE of these evil. |

It is very embarrassing. Why would a young man with a brilliant mind decide to become so lazy and subject himself to such humiliating treatment? The cause of such things is laziness> Laziness of the mind. |

Onye May it's just me, may am just being dim witted, but cant just see the logic in the following: Why do other Nigerians unite themselves with igbo oppression. Let me warn you guys again, Onitsha and ABA people have learnt to retaliate appropriately. Stop killing our people. |
Politics / Re: Fighting Start In Jos City This Morning by RibaduFan(m): 1:25pm On Nov 29, 2008 |
Onye Ur postings are irritating, they remind me of Nigeria1//. Ur grammar is superb, but ur reasoning is whacked, very whacked and also very illogical. Am sure very soon u ll start claiming there is a global conspiracy to annihilate the Igbos cos they are cousins to the Jews. Kindly create another thread to discuss ur paranoia and allow us address the issue at hand without further distractions. Going by the various news report, the riot in Jos is purely political and has no ethnic or religious undertone. The aggravation started after LG elections were suspended due to delay in the supply of voting materials. The govt of the state has responded well enough by ordering a dusk to dawn curfew and also deploying mobile policement to troubled spots. |

Quotesyst, Onye It hasnt even been established that the attacks were against Igbos. I dont know y u re wishing evil on the peace loving Ndi Igbos in Jos. It could have been xtain Jos men against Muslim Hausas. I really really u guys are becoming paranoid. |
