59 suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with the recent cult-related crises in some parts of Makurdi, the state capital, where there were several injured people and loss of properties worth millions of Naira.

The police said that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations were over.

Days after we saw Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele’s name on the cast in the movie, Avengers: Infinity war, Recently her name has been removed from the cast in the upcoming superhero movie and replaced with another Nigerian actress, Genevieve Nnaji.

The ‘Jenifa’ star was to play a member of the Dora Milaje, a team of women who serve as bodyguard to Black Panther, the spiritual leader of Wakanda.

Reports say that the Funke Akindele was never contacted to feature in the movie. It is gathered the stunt was pulled by a hacker.

Hopefully the addition of Genevieve Nnaji’s inclusion is not a hacker stunt too.

Celebrities / Ara, Talks About Her Relationship With The Ooni Of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi by Rickyrick: 7:00pm On Jan 14, 2018
Rumore had it that Ara was dating the Ooni of Ife and that she will be the next queen.
Ara, denied the rumors in an interview saying the Ooni, is just a friend.

She said:

“There is no iota of truth to such reports, please disregard them. The Ooni is like a father to me, and he takes me as his daughter. There is no love affair between us at all.

The monarch is a very great lover of our culture, and it is obvious that he has done a lot to support and promote the Yoruba culture.

I am also a cultural ambassador and the Ooni has lent his support to our cause. I believe that there are a lot of potential in this country that can be tapped.

If we harness the tourism potential of Nigeria, it would fetch the country more money than oil and gas.

There are a lot of beautiful sites across the country that foreigners would love to visit, and with my foundation, I have decided to showcase the country’s beauty through movies and other forms of entertainment.”

Ibukun who was rushed to a nurse in their area after collapsing was later taken to a medical centre for a better treatment.

He died on the way to the medical centre and was confirmed dead at the medical centre.

The police were signalled by a neighbour in the area and the suspect was arrested after locking himself up in his house on Wednesday.

The suspect’s neighbour said:

“Thatevening, when the man returned from work, he saw the boy outside and grabbed him by the hand. He took him inside the house and asked him to say where the money was. He started flogging the boy, who cried for help. The man flogged him until he went into a coma.”

Another neighbour said the auxiliary nurse referred the boy to a medical centre in the neighbourhood because of the gravity of his injuries.

The boy was buried by his dad after he was confirmed dead. He wanted his neighbours to keep quiet about the incident, but a neighbour alerted the police and he was arrested.

A cleric on the street said the suspect was arrested by the Isheri Osun policemen division.

A friend of the victim said:

Some armed robbers invaded the house of Mr. John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu which is located at Ajah and they stole some of his properties.

He wasn’t at home when the robbers attacked, but his wife, grandmother, housemaid and children were around and were sleeping when the robbers attacked.

The robbers got access into the house through an opening in the house, which was being renovated.

They took 12 wristwatches, laptops, phones, jewelleries, money, shoes , clothes and all the ATM cards in the house, after forcefully obtaining the PINs from Mr.Okafor’s wife.

Mr Ibu’s manager, identified as Chochoo said the robbery happened on Saturday morning around 3am. He also added that the robbers emptied the house of all valuables but injured nobody.

He said:

“He (Okafor) was renovating his house and the burglar-proof bar that was not fixed that day was where they came in through. Twelve wristwatches, money, all the phones and laptops in the house, shoes and clothes were stolen. I cannot place a value on the stolen property; just three of the wristwatches are worth N6.5m. They broke into his room as well. They took everything in his room”.

“When it happened, we had travelled to the east for some New Year social functions. I guess those people knew none of the men was around. His wife, children, grandmother and maid were at home. The robbers were more than six in number”.

“They took the wife’s ATM cards and forced her to release the PINs. Since they left with the phones in the house, she does not have anything to get debit alerts. We have blocked the accounts today (Monday). But since the incident happened on Saturday and banks don’t open on Saturdays and Sundays, we don’t know what could have happened in the intervening period.”

Chochoo said that suspects has been arrested based on some blurred black and white images from the Closed-Circuit Television cameras in the house, but their culpability was yet to be established.

He added that the primary concern of the family was the recovery of the stolen items.

He also said the one million naira meant for the renovation of his house was also stolen.

four of the 12 stolen wristwatches were valued at N8m, while the others cost between N300,000 to N500,000.

Mr Ibu said that his wife’s gold and jewellery were stolen and the four phones he left in the house were taken too.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, confirmed the incident, adding that two of the suspects had been arrested.

He said:

“Two of the suspects were arrested by our men from the FESTAC division, who were on patrol at the time of the incident. Two others escaped. The suspects have been transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, while investigations are ongoing. Efforts have been intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects.”

Cardi B, who hosted a New Year’s Eve party in New York was seen without her huge engagement ring.

The ring was no where to be seen.

She blasted Offset, her fiancé, after it was revealed he had been cheating on her after his iCloud was hacked recently.

Photos of him with another woman in a hotel bathroom were leaked and Cardi B confirmed it was him. The photos were reportedly taken in September.

Last week Cardi B gave him a warning after deciding to give him a second chance:
“I let a n**** know though. You do that shit again, you gon lose your wife.” But she has since been seen without the magnificent rock on her left hand, implying that all is not forgiven and forgotten.

She has also taken down her picture with the old ring.

Foreign Affairs / “we Will Not Be Blackmailed”- Senior Palestinian Official To Trump by Rickyrick: 9:17am On Jan 03, 2018
Senior Palestinian official, Hanan Ashrawi, has responded to Donald Trump’s threatening tweets to cut aid to the Palestinian Authority.

Hanan Ashrawi’s response came after Trump’s tweet acknowledging that the Middle East peace process was in not getting any easier and warning Palestinians that they could in fact lose US aid worth over $300m/year.

“We will not be blackmailed,” Hanan Ashrawi said in a statement on Wednesday.

“President Trump has sabotaged our search for peace, freedom and justice. Now he dares to blame the Palestinians for the consequences of his own irresponsible actions!”

In his tweet on Tuesday, Trump said: “We pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect.

“With the Palestinians no longer willing to talk peace, why should we make any of these massive future payments to them?”

It was not clear whether Trump was threatening all of the budget, worth $319m in 2016.

Relations and Support between his administration and the Palestinian Authority have significantly reduced since Trump decided last month to recognise Jerusalemas the capital of Israel.

US aid to the Palestinian Authority stood at about $319 million in 2016, according to US government figures.
