Have you ever had to hold your pee for a long time? Ugh! It is the absolute worst. I always, and I mean always feel like one boss that can hold her pee for a long time, but I always fail at it. I’m that friend who sits down quietly when she is pressed, thinking and calculating how long she can ‘hold it’ in, and when she can’t hold it anymore, she runs to the restroom like her butt is on fire. God, I do this all the time, my friends are even tired. Once they see me in front of a restroom, pacing around, and breathing in and out, as though I’m in labor, they know I’m pressed and possibly, the restroom is already occupied. You need to see when I finally pee, I heave the biggest sigh of relief. That relief is just hmmm, orgasmic, magical. To be continued... Being busy has become so glorified in our society these days. If you are not as busy as the person next to you, people think you are lazy. And then you end up acting busy when in fact you are texting friends on Whatsapp. This reminds me of my friend/colleague who was always busy, typing away, with a very serious look on her face. I’ll end up looking at her thinking, “She is so hardworking”, wondering what she was always typing. The day I found out it was Whatsapp on the web, I couldn’t help myself. I cracked up like crazy. Most times, this is what bosses want. They want you to be busy, look busy, it makes them feel like their money is not wasted (eye service). In a society like ours where being busy is hyped, we end up competing to look busier than the other person. And most times, we end up not achieving much. Being busy doesn’t necessarily mean you are effective with your time. Remember the phrase, ‘Busy for nothing’? Or even better, “Busybody”? Most people are this way. Do you know that a busy person can take about two hours on a task, while an effective person will finish the same task within 30 minutes? Will you like to be more effective? I do. So, let’s find out how. Click the link below to read more; https://ritasmusings./2018/12/20/are-you-a-busy-body-or-an-effective-person/ 1 Like |

On my way to work, I was going through my phone when a thought went through my head, “what if my phone went missing? All my contacts, documents, pictures, special messages, gone! I freaked out just thinking about it. This reminds me of my cousin who after picking a call inside the bus, forgot to put it back in her bag and alighted from the bus. By the time she realized her phone was missing, it was too late. Her phone had a new owner. She called and called and at a point, the ‘new owner’ switched off the phone. She was a mess that morning. I’d have been worse. Interestingly, she got better fast and was very optimistic about getting the phone back. She didn’t care because she had this feeling that the phone will get back to her. However, things didn’t go that way. She had waited all through the day for just one call – a call from the person, asking her to come to pick her phone. This call never came. Instead, she received a shocker. Click the link to read more; https://ritasmusings./2018/12/12/what-to-do-when-your-phone-goes-missing/ |

Hello, beautiful people. Happy new week! This morning, while going through my notepad I found some amazing things I had written a few months ago. My notes were gotten from a teaching by Francis Chan. Francis Chan is not a normal man of God. He is EXTRAORDINARY. He loves the Lord as it should be. I was reminded of one of his books I read last month, Crazy Love. I decided to write a review. On a normal, I’ll say, “Read it, by force. The end” but I’ll share a few things I learned from the book. After reading Crazy Love, I was in tears. I needed to know what more I could do for God. I spent days asking God for direction on how I could do more for Him... Read more; https://ritasmusings./2018/12/10/crazy-love-by-francis-chan-book-review/ |

Hello, beautiful ones. How’s your Monday going? So, I shared one of my favorite songs on Instagram and I thought to share my faves from last month. I feel like every week comes with some favorites; depending on how I’m feeling or how that week starts etc. There are days I intentionally want to listen to sad songs and cry (thanks PMS) and there are days I’m so excited, I want to listen to happy songs. I’ll be sharing my five favorite songs of the month... Click the link below to read more https://ritasmusings./2018/11/29/five-songs-you-should-be-listening-to/ |

“You look so happy today”. Obi said He was looking at Nne in awe. There was something new about her that he liked. “It seems like you’re glowing, but you’re always glowing, so it has to be something else. I can’t place it. You look different”. Nne smiled. They were at The Place, a restaurant at Ikeja, Lagos. Nne had insisted they meet that week. She said it had been long since they had their usual meetups. She was right. Their meetups had been a ritual ever since they met, but the hustle and stress of working and living in Lagos didn’t make it easy for them. His mind went off to the first time they met... Chest puffed out, legs spread wide, and arms thrown across the shoulder of the lady sitting next to you. “Oga adjust now” she says. As the bus starts to move. You 'move' your shoulder in a way that seems like you adjusted, but your hips don’t move an inch. Then you shout, ‘are you okay now?’ rolling your eyes. She turns to look at you, she is angry now. You can see this. What have you done? You’re scared, but you must not show it. Read more on https://ritasmusings./2018/03/15/sit-well-or-get-off/
