Romance / She Wants Me To Choose Between Her And My Mum! by Rimbaldi: 10:18pm On Jun 02, 2011 |
A friend of mine wrote me. Here are excerpts of the letter, Nlanders please advice me on what to tell him. "I really dont know how to start this but I'm in a quagmire right now. You know Stella and I have been dating for close to 7 years now and we love each other very much. We have been through thick and thin together and I can confidently thump my chest that for that duration of time, I have never been with any other woman. I mean the girl drives me nuts, but recently she started accusing me of dating her friend Bola which I found very amusing. But upon realising that this was no joke, I quickly denied the allegation. Yes Bola tricked me into coming to her place saying Stella was there and wasnt feeling too good. I quickly rushed down to her place from work only for Bola to answer the door in only her lingerie. You know the rest of the story, I didnt touch her. Now she is accusing me of spending too much time with my mum, whom I only spend time with from Friday to Monday mornings. She says I dont spend enough time with her and you know that she practically lives with me. I recently told her that I'd like for us to be a couple someday and guess what she said? she said that we'd have to move away from the city to where my mum couldnt easily reach us. In fact she even suggested a town in the south where her parents live. The thing is I love this girl and i dont want to loose her. Do you think I should take her suggestion, afterall I've been with my mum all these years. Besides, Stella is my future and I would do anything to safeguard my future. Please reply as soon as you can, you know I rely on your advice a lot." |

whatever you do stay away from mazda. If gear box spoil, u may not afford it. I dont drive a toyota though, but it seems the best option. That Amount can get you BMW E36 for about 650 to 750k which is very fuel efficient.

sofa-dj: Bad belle! Do you have a Phd. syndrome? Whether she gets it or not is immaterial. What really matters is that she is getting international recognition and BTW do you know what it means to be considered to star in the biggest movie franchise of all times? Think again. |

Source: Nigeriatodayonline FRIDAY MAY 20, 2011 Nollywood star tipped as next James Bond girl in a possible N500 million deal Genevieve Nnaji’s career in acting may be on the high following speculation in Europe that she may be chosen as the next James Bond girl. ‘’I hear she's tipped to be the next Bond girl’’ Sarah Tetteh of the Daily Mirror in the UK recently said. If the deal materializes, Nnaji who is rumoured to be romantically linked with music star D'banj, may gross up to N500 million in her debut movie. The James Bond film series is a series of motion pictures, based on the fictional character of MI6 secret agent James Bond (code designation "007". The UK M16 is the equivalent of Nigeria's SSS. Earlier films were based on novels and short stories, followed later by films with original storylines. The franchise remains one of the longest continually running film series in history, having been in ongoing production from 1962 to 2010 with a six-year hiatus between 1989 and 1995. The films have grossed just over $12 billion (in inflation adjusted dollars) at the worldwide box office, making it easily the highest-grossing film series ever (well ahead of both Star Wars and Harry Potter, which only appear ahead of Bond if inflation is ignored). At a recent movie event in France, Hollywood star Robert De Niro was spotted chatting up Nnaji. ‘’De Niro always has an eye for hot talent’’ one pundit said. Reports said the duo had kept in contact since then. Nnaji started her acting career as a child actress in the then popular television soap opera - Ripples at the age of 8. She also featured in several commercials some of which include Pronto beverage and Omo detergent. In 1998 at the age of 19 she was introduced into the growing Nigerian film industry with the movie - "Most Wanted". As an upcoming actress, trying to create a niche for herself, she went through various minor roles seeking for that opportunity for a break through. Her subsequent movies - 'Last Party'; Mark of the Beast; and Ijele (still considered to be one of her best epic performance to date) brought forth an icon to be loved and adored by many. Her name became a household name, her image the desire of every young girl. In 2002 she featured in the movie 'Sharon Stone' and her fame shot beyond the shores of Nigeria to Africa and several European countries. Nnaji appeals just as warmly to Kenyans and Liberians and South Africans and Ghanaians who avidly watch Nigerian home videos at home and abroad. Nnaji, thus, has led the market into new territories today. She took the extra step of projecting herself beyond Nigeria by having a website constructed back in 2003 and it was arguably the most trafficked Nigerian site on the Internet. In recognition of her immense contribution to the Nigerian film industry, Nnaji has been presented with numerous awards some of which have been in Dublin, London and America. She won best actress of the year in the 2001 City People Awards and in 2005 at the maiden outing of the prestigious African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). In 2004 a search for the face of Lux was embarked upon and out of several celebrities all over Africa Genevieve emerged with the highest votes. She graced several billboards and television stations with her enduring smile and personality. In 2004, she was contracted by a Ghanaian record label to produce an album which got immense attention locally and in several African countries. With several movies to her credit, and numerous fans around the world, in 2008, in a bid to give back to society, Nnaji launched her clothing line 'St. Genevieve' which donates a percentage of its proceeds to Charity - Orphanages. 2009 Genevieve made history by being the first Nigerian actress to be profiled on Oprah on "The most popular people around the world." Nnaji is quoted to be the highest paid and most desired actress in Nollywood today. A desire to be in contact touch with her fans after being absent from the web for about 6 years has resulted in the construction of a new site. This affords the actress the opportunity to keep in constant touch with her numerous fans the world over. The site is an interactive one and the heats have been outstanding. Her life personifies the saying "All things are possible if you will only believe." These words describe her: Determined, Focused, Humble and Creative. The best years of her career are still ahead. |

Politics / Ohakim Offers To Serve Jonathan by Rimbaldi: 3:07pm On May 13, 2011 |
Ikedi Ohakim's memo to the President Repositioning The Peoples Democratic Party (Pdp) In Imo State Preamble I think I need not bore Your Excellency with details of the conduct and outcome of the just concluded governorship election in Imo state, since that is already well known to the President. What I think I ought to restate is my commitment to ensuring a lasting legacy of peace and true democracy in Imo. I have already demonstrated this by quickly moving in to douse the political temperature in the state by accepting the result of the election as it is and announcing that I will not go to court. The decision not to challenge the election in court is simply predicated on my avowal that the good people of Imo state should be saved the trauma of passing through another spate of court litigation that characterized my tenure. Differently put, I believe that I would, by this decision, save my successor the problem of facing the type of detractions I faced during my tenure. As I prepare to leave office, I do so completely satisfied that I was, in spite of promptings from sundry quarters to do otherwise, able to allow a level play ground throughout the period of the electioneering campaign and the election proper. Apart from that this was in keeping with Mr President’s personal commitment to the growth of true democratic culture, I am certain that I have laid a good foundation for the growth of orderly democratic practice in Imo state. For example, my people in Imo state now know that it is possible to conduct party primaries that are devoid of intervention by the sitting governor. THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP) IN IMO STATE In the time being, however, what I consider my immediate preoccupation is to take immediate steps to galvanize and reposition our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, in Imo state. With the outcome of the election, there are palpable fears that the PDP in Imo state would be like sheep without shepherd. Against the backdrop of certain external forces that are bent on controlling the political fortunes of the state, I hate to contemplate the prospects of our great party becoming an underdog in Imo state, the very heart of Igboland. Consequently, there is need to evolve a deliberate strategy for galvanizing and sustaining the image of the party in the state and give our party faithful a sense of belonging. One sure way of doing this would be to empower the leadership of the party politically at the federal level. This may mean setting aside an important federal political position for me or any other party chieftain in the state as the President may deem fit as well as considering more Imo PDP members for appointment into Federal Commissions, agencies and parastatals. If the President deems it fit, I would, with all sincerity and the deepest sense of responsibility, suggest that I be consulted while such appointment are being made; the reason being simply that having presided over the state in the last four years, I am in the best stead to evaluate the potency of federal appointments coming to the state under the new dispensation; in terms of which area gets what among the three zones of Orlu, Okigwe and Owerri. This is especially so because there is need to avoid the same scenario wherein some areas would go into opposition simply because they felt that federal appointments did not favour them. I OFFER TO SERVE One thing Your Excellency may wish to bear in mind is that with the Governor and Deputy Governor going respectively to Orlu and Owerri zones, a Ministerial appointment coming to Imo should go to Okigwe zone, my home zone. In this regard, I offer myself for further service at that level if given the opportunity. Without any prejudice, I wish to remind Your Excellency that three areas I have demonstrated flair in the National Economic Council are: (1) Oil & Gas (2) Police Reforms (3) Urban Development and Renewal. For example, with the benefits of my experience in recovering Owerri to make it the cleanest city in Nigeria, I could articulate an Urban Renewal Initiative to be known as The FCT Environserve Initiative to make Abuja the most organized and cleanest city in Africa. CONCLUSION I shall remain ever appreciative of the support and personal love the President showed on me during my tenure. In all my tribulations, especially in the hands of hawks who never wanted to give me any chance, the President stood by me. As Your Excellency continues on the mantle of leadership of our great country, I pledged my unalloyed royalty to him and his administration. I will continue to see myself both as a personal friend to Mr President and a patriotic citizen of Nigerian. Even as I step aside momentarily, I consider myself extremely lucky to be among the few in our generation who helped midwife the emergence of a fellow in the mould of Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to stir the ship of the Nigerian state in the 21st Century. I wish you well, Sir. My family and I will continue to remember you in our prayers for the good Lord to continue to bless, guard and protect you. Ikedi Ohakim Culled from Nigeria today online Oh boy! oh boy! OH BOY! (in quick succession) |
