Travel / What To Pack In Every Carry-on Bag by roadtravelng: 10:52pm On Oct 23, 2016
If only it were that simple. Packing the wrong thing in your checked bag has the potential to ruin your trip—especially if that bag gets lost, broken, or roughed up by baggage handlers. A simple rule of thumb: Pack anything of value or importance in your carry-on bag, in case your luggage gets lost by the bus operator. But there's more to keep in mind. Below, in no particular order, are 10 things that you should always leave out of your checked bag.
Jewelry and Valuables
We recommend leaving jewelry and other valuables at home when traveling, but if you must bring these items on the road, be sure to store them safely in your carry-on bag.
Take medications in your carry-on bag
Do you have any essential medications that you take on a regular basis? Don’t just pack what you need for your Bus in your carry-on, put it all in there. If you only have a day’s worth of medicine, and your luggage gets lost for three days, you could be in big trouble for a couple days.
Essential Documents
All necessary documents, whether they're work or insurance papers or other sensitive information, should be kept with you in your carry-on bag. But there is another solution—back it up. If you plan to put papers of importance in checked luggage, keep copies (either hard photocopies or copies on a flash drive) on your person.
Laptop and Electronics
Electronics ... should be packed in carry-on Bags because they are typically fragile, expensive, and more prone to breaking if transported in the Bus booth
Pack toiletries and a change of clothes in your carry-on bag
One change of clothes could come in handy as well.
Bring things to make yourself feel comfortable
Take some snacks with you, whether it’s something from home or you pick up something at the bus station

Travel / The Importance Of Windshield Wipers For Safe Driving by roadtravelng: 12:55am On Jul 14, 2016
Your windshield wipers are probably not one of those things you think about too often. However, when you are caught in a rainstorm while driving, you depend on them to clear your windshield and improve your visibility. Damaged and cracked wiper blades do not work properly and can scratch your glass. Check your wiper blades and replace them when necessary to ensure that you always have a clear view of the road.
Taking care of your wipers is really quite easy. Periodically, take a wet towel and run it along the edge of the blade. This will remove, dust, dirt, and grime that can build up over time. Washing it away will allow your wipers to work more efficiently and last longer. This is a good time to inspect your blades for areas that look rigid or worn.

Many people have had the experience of turning on our wipers only to discover that part of the rubber is peeling away. You might hear a screeching sound as the damage parts drag across your windshield. When this happens, you could be scratching or otherwise damaging your windshield. This is why it is so essential to periodically inspect your wipers for damage and replace them about every six months.
Visibility is a key component of safe driving. You need to be ready when a rainstorm or snow event occurs.

Check your blades now. Replace them if necessary. It is one of the easiest and most affordable ways that you can improve the safety of your vehicle.

Travel / How Safe Is Your Child In Your Car? Emytrip@roadtravelng by roadtravelng: 10:18am On May 28, 2016
As we celebrate the children’s day, Here’s what you need to know to ensure that your most precious cargo is safe in cars.

1)Don't Seat Children in Front of an Airbag

Buckle all children aged 12 and under in the back seat. Airbags can kill young children riding in the front seat. Never place a rear-facing car seat in front of an air bag.

2)Seat Children in the Middle of the Back Seat

Buckle children in the middle of the back seat when possible, because it is the safest spot in the vehicle

3)Use Proper Restraints Every Trip

Buckle children in car seats, booster seats, or seat belts on every trip, no matter how short.

4)Parents and Caregivers: Always Wear a Seat Belt

Set a good example by always using a seat belt themselves

5)Don’t leave your child especially below 5yrs in the car while the engine is on

Children explore a lot, especially for automatic cars. They like to tried what dad/mum do while on steering. Never leave your child alone in a car, not even for a minute. While it may be tempting to dash out for a quick errand, the temperature inside your car can rise 20 degrees and cause heatstroke in the time it takes for you to run in and out of the store/ATM

6)Keep every cords like car chargers and phone ear piece away from the child

Babies might not be able to move far, but they can reach and grab for things that catch their eye.
In their cot. Some babies have been strangled by looped cords hanging into their cot. This could be a string from a bag

7) Remember to lock the door and door glasses from the central lock
When the child lock is engaged, the interior handle is rendered useless, usually just moving freely without unlatching the door. In this state the child simply cannot open the door.

Travel / Tips To Enjoying Your Road Travel Experience In Nigeria- Emytrip by roadtravelng: 2:43am On Apr 22, 2016
All over the world, there are limitations to the use of flights. You may cheat time while you are on a flight from one part of the world to another. Journeys that may have taken you six months can be done within hours with flights. However, there are places where you must take the road especially if you are in Nigeria. Road travel can be intriguing in Nigeria if you know what to do when you are embarking on such trip.
The under listed should be considered when traveling by road in Nigeria.

• You Should Arrive Early at the Terminal/Bus Park

Do not wait to be late in a Nigeria bus terminal or park because you may not like the experience. To beat difficulties and unnecessary challenges with touts or bus drivers, make sure that you are early at a bus park. This is what would give you the leverage that you may need to handle your traveling logistics. It is easier to make rearrangements when you are early to jumping into a bus in a hurry while you must have forgotten something important at home.

Your Luggage, Your Friend
Bus Parks in major cities like Aba, Lagos or Onitsha where passenger poachers are looking out for people like you who wants to travel can be very dreadful even though it looks you are been served a favour on the surface. Do not mind them especially if you have a bus company that you are going to use. You may end up a prey in the hands of predators in the middle of a civilized world if these poachers take advantage of you.

Don’t Drink or Eat Much

It would be in your best interest you stay away from a lot of eating and drinking when you are about to make a road journey in the country. The driver may never have the patience of stopping at intervals for you to clear your bowels. The little buses do not have convenience which means that you are going to pay dearly if you have bowel problem on the road.
