The Shaldags are simply exploiting the fact that you have a battery powered submarine that needs to recharge like a Nokia phone every two days. Nigerian navy will use that your submarines weakness to defeat it. Simple.

Contrary, Nokia has really good battery life especially the legendary 3310

Destroyer ? With only one 76mm gun from 1972 scrap yard? Fool.

Stop lying, South African navy Valour frigates have only about 13 Exocet missiles instead of the 32 missiles required to equip 4 ships.

All your Valour frigates have ZERO torpedoes.

Valour frigate Exocet has range about 70 km, Type 056 has C-803 with 250 km range....Nigerian corvette will sink your frigate
.

I think you are pretty stupid.

Number 1, naval gun technology has not advanced so much in the last 50 years that a gun in 1970 is not useful today. Similar to M2 50 cal it was designed and first built in 1933. Is it obsolete today?

How about you define obsolete first? Define what it means for something to become obsolete.

In arithmetics, is infinity a number? Olodo goat brained Southy dullard grin

Tell us the difference in speed of your datalink and real-time transmission satellite/radio/internet command and control....if you cannot answer, then your Link-ZA tactical data-link is NO SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE over normal communication equipment
.

How about you explain why there is no significant advantage over previous generation communications equipment?

We have provided you with adequate explanation, now please provide yours.

Like I said before, War is unpredictable and you asking things like 'how many times faster' is stupid and immature. Are you immature? If not stop asking immature questions. Let me ask you two stupid question using your logic.

Why doesn't Nigeria fire large trees for their artillery? They are heavy weighing 4 tons and are destructive, able to destroy HQ buildings with a well placed shot? You 'olodo goat'. Only Nigerian fools will say that there is no artillery that can fire trees and that it is impractical to build such machines. They are jealous of such a weapon.

What is the point of operating systems on a computer? I mean if you wanna go send emails you could always encode it right? Lol Nigerian 'olodo goats' paying 100 usd (last time i saw a nigerian with paid software was when i pooped rainbows) for something I could do for free. Unless you can tell me the difference in speed then there is NO REAL DIFFERENCE 'olodo goat'

I am not off topic, I am just telling you that with your datalink LINK ZA, North Korea, Egypt, Algeria, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, even Uganda and Angola with Su-30 Flankers will defeat South Africa in battle, your tactical datalink is NOT a weapon and does not fire on anybody, neither will it stop a 5,000 km/h missile from a JF-17 against your Gripen.

You speak with the foresight of a baboon.

Using your logic everything that is not combat related does not contribute to the strength of a military. What a load of rubbish.

Just like logistics, communications is not a direct weapon but a vital part of every single military.

So what if you have a thousand tanks but you have no fuel? Same principle as to so what if you have 300 stealth bombers but dont know where to bomb?!

With Link ZA South Africa's Gripen will know when there is a threat coming their way 9 times out of 10.

Prove it ! Liar.

Defenceweb said LINK ZA costs a few million Rands, not tens of millions. Even ten million rand is only about 600 k dollars you fraud !

LINK ZA is very cheap to produce.

Right so GTA V took more money to make than a sophisticated piece of warfighting technology.

Even after decades of Bantu education we have yet to produce such a fine specimen of stupidity as seen here.

How many times faster? Simple question.

My god... Are my eyes even real? What am I reading here? Are you dense?

Many times faster? If you know what a large-scale engagement is like, it is chaotic and unpredictable. Warfare is much different than 50 years ago as you said about Egypt and Israel.

Just as Mig-21's have evolved into Su-35's, Radio and Hub-spoke communication have evolved into Net-centric/aware warfare. Its so much more efficient and effective than prior means.

When there is a mission that is to be completed of the utmost importance, knowing where your teammates are, where your reinforcements is, what they are equipped with, where they are headed is the difference between Victory and Defeat, Life and Death.

When you are under fire, adrenaline pumping you won't be asking questions like 'How many times faster' or 'I have C2 that can do the same thing', you will want to know what is going on around you and maintain situation awareness by having the best communications equipment available.

What you are saying is that C2 can do the same thing Net-Centric (Link-ZA) comms can. Yes of course, just like Harold Godwinson in the Battle of Hastings in 1066 you can draw on a map, write 30 pages long of descriptive poetry and send your chariot to deliver messages about where artillery and aa-positions are. Its just so much more efficient with Link-ZA.

Please think before you write.

E.g: *note this is exactly what happened during 1999 Chechen War, as a result of repeated ambushes and counter-attacks*
C2:

Platoon Underfire from large-scale enemy assault.
Requires assistance and fire-support
Radios Command
Command is overwhelmed by large number of requests for Fire support and reinforcements
Repeated hails are unanswered
Command is unable to establish a picture about the scenario as they cannot process too much information
Platoon isolated, overcome by enemy attacks

Net-Centric

Platoon Underfire from large-scale enemy assault.
Lasers target for artillery and uses Electronic system to place urgent assistance
Command can see multiple attacks from multiple angles of differing strengths all over front line
Able to ask specific platoons to retreat and sends reinforcements to most vital parts, ensuring enemy does not achieve total breakthrough.
Momentum broken, able to reorganise and counter.

Nigeria has C2 and C5 command and control, so if our aircraft see anything, they communicate with CCC and the CCC relays the message to other platforms. Simple, but a fool like you won't know how 95% of the world's military fights war without tactical data link.

TDL is just faster because it does not go through CCC.....Command and Control Center.

Meanwhile, your Gripen and Hawk jets are getting sh.ot down by NAF JF-17 Thunder jets, your data link is blown to pieces before you use it.

THATS THE WHOLE POINT!!! THE WHOLE POINT ISS THAT INFORMATION GETS FROM POINT A TO POINT B FASTER!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH INFORMATION GETS CLOGGED UP IN THE C&C DURING A WAR? WHEN A PATROL IS UNDER HEAVY FIRE, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FIRE SUPPORT IN 20 and 2 MINUTES IS?

Israel sold missile technology to South Africa, and DENEL still has expatriate scientists today, or you think Zulus built Umkhonto SAM ? fOOl

Brazil built A-Darter missile for South Africa.

Whats the problem with expatriate scientists? Isnt that proof that South Africa's industry can still attract top-notch engineers? Meanwhile in Nigeria the lack of FDI is killing R&grin in the country.

Obviously Egyptians do not have TDL. They will obvioisly fight in isolated units without knowing what happens to another. They obviously will rely on radios for communication. We will intercept their communication and keep track of their actions, once our cover is blown out we will distort their radio communication. You know well how much does a team loses without proper communication and TDL/MTN helps you to fight as a team. We will without any doubt gain an upper hand over Egyptians.

This is what happened in every Arab-Israeli conflict. Every single time, Israel is outnumbered, outgunned and outmatched in almost every aspect. But the fact that they were able to coordinate with precision meant that they were able maneuver units to heavy firefights.

Butt Hurt By The Spirit Of Envy...butt hurt South African goon tongue tongue

Nigeria is now getting a 4th Generation jet fighter that matches SAAF Gripen jets.

3 jets initial order, NAF 2014 published evaluation says 25 to 40 JF-17 Thunder jets.

SAAF has only 6 to 9 Gripen pilots and NONE combat qualified.

NAF is having 10 F-7 jets + 3 JF-17 jets for a start, all our pilots are combat qualified, they fly combat sorties everyday
.

They fly combat sorties everyday? How many fly, at the same time? For how long, doing what?

Is there proof they fly sorties everyday?

There is no denying the fact that South Africa has the most advanced and largest, Military-Industrial Complex in Africa. Apart from Denel (one of the worlds largest arms conglomerates) we have local subsidiaries of large multi-nationals such as BAE South Africa. While Nigeria is trying to develop local armaments and defense technology, you must be a fool to be see how Nigeria or any other nation in Africa is better than South Africa at developing indigenous defense capabilities.

Whether or not the developed products has been purchased by the SA Govt as of yet is not a concern. When the need arises, South Africa will be able to transform prototypes into production within months if not weeks. Whereas Nigeria still needs to contend with foreign governments and companies for heavy equipment, vehicles etc as shown in their war against Boko Haram.

The current path the Nigerian army is heading is unsustainable. A large number of Pro-Nigeria users in this thread have boasted about the large army and navy the Military possesses, and how their war against Boko Haram is going extremely well. While I cannot vouch for the bolded text, I agree that Boko Haram will eventually be defeated. The question is, what happens after? The military is a ticking time bomb, with over 500,000 active duty soldiers (paramilitary included) paid in piecemeal, equipment hastily imported from so many countries and a top-heavy leadership that is corrupt and ineffective, one has to wonder what the legacy of the Nigerian military will be post-Boko Haram. With no clear enemy, and a budget that is 1.9 billion usd less, the future of Nigerian military is quite shrouded.

Lol i think everyone is going a little bit off topic here! grin Fact is though, the most dominant power in Africa right now is Egypt period.

They have just acquired two French Mistral type Amphibious assault ships (around 1.2 billion euros) that can operate Helicopters and VTOL aircraft as well as sustaining a long-term ground operation. 4 Gowind class corvettes and 1 fremm frigate has also been acquired

Neither Nigeria or South Africa have this capability and will not have this in the forseeable future. In addition, the airforce of Egypt has just acquired 24 rafale jets (4.5/5 gen). Along with a dump ton of newish f16s.

The Army has been continuously upgrading with the latest iteration of Abrams tanks.
