Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by roundy: 12:38pm On Jan 16, 2006
They say like minds flocks together. I see no reason why a forum called IN my thirties will be a bad idea for those who feel they need to bound together with themselves and perhaps with their age group.

Seun you are a good man , give the world what they want.

Thank you
Romance / Re: Girls Asking Guys Out by roundy: 4:11pm On Jan 05, 2006
I would say it should be a fifty fifty thing, If you general like a dude please go get the man gal? Don't let someone have what should or could have been yours. Although I strongly respect the woman's idea of waiting to be asked cause it keeps their virtues with the man intact(Basically here in Africa).

I had a bitter experience in life relating to this that I and the lady suffered the consequences,Honestly am a happy man now that a beautiful soul came my way and we both agreed to become one.

As in 1988 I fell inlove with the gal next door, she too fell inlove with me as well but none of us could approach each other to reveal this. We lost contact for almost 11 years and when we united again we couldn't express our feeling. I became silly by asking my best friend then to ask her out ,which he did and they started dating, I was devasted and Lonely. By 2002 we lost contact again and in 2005 when we saw, I cried like a baby because of her confession to me (Expressing love and proposing )O! How I was so sorry to let her know that I am now married.
Today am a much better out spoken man because of my wife and woman but I have never stoped wondering how lovely it would have been marrying your first true love.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Looking For A Challenging I.T. Job by roundy: 3:17pm On Jan 05, 2006
sbucareer:

Hello Muhammed,

Happy New Year. Erm.. before I start I'd like to know your particular area of interest. You mentioned Java and Linux emphasising your skills with series of cert.

Are you working for any organisation? or Who was your last employer? I am asking these questions as to give you my opinion on challenging Jobs in IT.

As you well mentioned in your write-up as a Mathematician embarking career in IT, you are in the better position to BSc Computer Science but not necessary better. Anyway, As you must have gathered Java is just a tool for developing suits of Applications like:

1. Standalone application
2. Distributed Enterprise Application
3. Network and Mobile Communication Application
3. Games and AWT apps (Abstract Window Toolkit)
4. Internet Application (HTTP, FTP, SSH, GOPHER etc)
5. Wireless Apps etc

You said your are developing a Linux application for Mobile communication using CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), a technology for digital transmission of radio signals between, for example, a mobile telephone and a radio base station.

With these I would place you in my list category of 3 (Network and Mobile Communication Application developer). With Linux environment you are better off developing for Enterprise Application. And don’t sell it, licence it per number of users and make sure you can detect how many users are using your application by using auto update you know what I am saying.

I am a software Consultant in United Kingdom. I have worked in many projects like SAP, Enterprise system development i.e. capital investment banking, Enterprise infrastructure deployment using these tools C++, Java Perl and Cobol. My last and new hobby now is system termination, integration and migration. And again don’t limit your tool to just java. Linux provides many programming tool like C, Perl, Shell, python and C++. Try and learn other tool with your amount of intelligence it will not take you more than two weeks to learn these tools.

If you are going solo and wanting advice this is what you’d to do. If you have access to dedicated Internet at home if not try VSAT, you could even supply surrounding friends and family and charge them to make your money, like your own ISP (Internet Service Provider) it is very easy to setup, google Internet and download materials on howto. Once you have dedicated Internet at home host your own web server you can even charge people to host their site. Make sure you use free software. You should be familiar with Open Source Software (OSS) since you use Linux. Secure and lock down you Linux only open port 80 and shutdown telnet, ftp etc. If you need remote login use SSH (Secure SHell). Develop your website and use paypal to collect you money for the time been till you become big to handle e-commerce i.e. credit cards. I will stop now, but I will write again when I hear from you. Good Luck

Dude, you are amazing. Am in IT here in Nigeria for a UK Firm would like to discuss IT related issues with you further.

Celebrities / Re: Oge Okoye or Chioma Chukwuka by roundy: 4:47pm On Jan 04, 2006
kechy:

Roundy,

Please don't let us compare my two sweethearts(Angelina and Julia).

Let's limit the comparison to Chi and Oge. Though it's not good to judge a book by its cover, I can't help but point out that Chi's look portrays both inner and outward beauty while Oge's looks portray just outward beauty.

While Oge seems to be shallow Chioma radiates from within I like both of them, though.

Hey Kechy, did you notice on E that Angelina won the hottest celeb for 2005 among a 101 celebs
Celebrities / Re: Oge Okoye or Chioma Chukwuka by roundy: 11:56am On Dec 30, 2005
Can I just say that both ladies are pretty in their own ways and are beautifully designed by God,also they are good in their acts and may or should not be compared in beauty.

The question then should be who has a better character of judgement and atttracts people the more.

Surely you wouldn't want to compare Angelina Jolie with Julia Roberts would you?

Have a nice day.
Romance / Re: Interracial Dating & Marriage ("Jungle Fever") by roundy: 10:41am On Dec 30, 2005
Well speaking on this topic, I would rather say that most guys I know dating foreigners do that in a bid to have dual citizenship or gain visas to countries that would provide opportunity for them to strieve in.

Honestly who really care who one dates, so far they have an understanding of each other and appreciate one another.

The only problem is that i would love to see more naija guys who are dating naija females treat them right and love them just as they do they foreigners who squash money on them.

I cann't wait for it to start, I just hope (know nigerians) it will be real like others and not stage managed.
