Hahahahahahaaaa!

I assure you, the race to heaven is quite different. Thank God no one wields that kind of power. How scary that would be!

Noh vex!

Janet200:

It’s now very common for people to paste a rubbish visa transcript just for people to congratulate them without passing any information. If this type of people get key to heaven, they will enter heaven and fling the key away for nobody to come in.

Lmaooooo!!!! Wahala for who dey selfless o!!!! Noh vex ehn!

I still don't get why you need information about the school I am going to, the university I attended and where I work, or how it translates to being selfish.

But it's fine. your opinion is yours and you have every right to it.

Thanks for sharing.

Ifesinachi22:
This is the most useless Transcript I've read the whole year. Who forced you to share your Transcript if you won't give out useful information like others did. So useless and selfish. Bleep University, University of Bleep. Nonsensical. I work at xxxx. No information given whatsoever.

To even imagine i went to Google Bleep University makes me sick. So selfish

If you can be stingy with little information like this, only God knows how stingy you will be with the other department grin grin grin

Yeah, I went to the bank and had my statement printed and stamped 3 days before my interview.

I had it printed on Friday, My interview was on Tuesday.

Lifeisforliving:

Hi Rubi when was the statement printed, was it a current date?
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by RubyPrincess: 4:36pm On Nov 02, 2020
Mine was 6months. I cannot categorically say if it'll be a problem or not.

But I know if sudden lump sums show up in the statement, you might be asked some questions.
Lifeisforliving:

Congratulations Ruby, how old was ur statement, I am going up to the embassy with a month old from my appointment day bank statement, do you think this is an issue

Congratulations on getting your visa. Can you help with mock interviews or just questions and tips if necessary?
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by RubyPrincess: 1:30pm On Nov 02, 2020
You can google it. It is on their website.

https://ng.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/family-based-immigration/after-the-interview/

https://jp.usembassy.gov/visas/nonimmigrant-visas/visa-status-check/
check the part that says issued.

But if you don't feel comfortable sending a mail, which I also weirdly understand, just wait out the process. till they contact you.

Modelove:
Oohk...Thanks so much ....Please where did they state that one has to wait 10business days before sending mail? I just want to be very sure before sending the mail though my own never reach 10business working days. Did they give you reasons for the delay?

It was a little bit more than what i needed to cover my first year. including flight ticket and the rest.

oluwasheeun:

Congratulations.
Please was your personal statement amount up to x2 of of the deficit amount? Or just enough to cover the first year??

I actually called them first and I was told to send a mail.

I sent a mail to LagosNIV@state.gov

I told them the date my visa was approved and that I have not been called to pick up my document(s).
I also mentioned that the 10 business days window has elapsed and then went ahead to but my information for them to identify and search their system.

They replied and told me to go pick up. They replied the next day.

So, I'll advise that you send a mail. I understand your worry. I was worried too. It'll be fine!

cheers!

Modelove:
Thanks so much for your response....Please what was the content of the email you sent? And please I need the full email address you sent it to .....Because I have still not heard from them...

if you’re providing an account statement of about 14 million, how do you defend such huge funds, lol even adults that have worked all their life’s don’t have that much fund, secondly if you can prove you can take care of your first 9 month, who wild take care of your second year? I think it’s wise to allow your parent and your Acct statement reflect on your i20

Depends on where you work. People are able to save up this much sir. also you can chip in during the interview that your parents would be supporting you. they would most likely ask what they do, and then you can state that.

I don't think this should be a problem.

Anyone going to Siue(southern Illinois university Edwardsville) who have gotten their visa approved. I was awarded a scholarship. My interview is next week. Please guys My question is when I am asked why this school? Should my scholarship be my first point. Those who have gone for the interview and gotten approved, congratulations pls let us know how is the approval rate guys?

If asked why this school, you can start by saying how good the program is, ranking and all. But if he/she proceeds to ask why not other schools with better ranking, the answer about scholarship would be perfect.

Any which way, scholarship is never a bad thing.

(i honestly wasn’t listening at this point But I already knew the drill based on previous transcripts)

Tips
Pray for favor!
Prepare well! Do mock interviews with friends...
Get there 1hr before the time. (I stayed in a hotel close to the embassy the night before)
Put on comfortable shoes.

If you need possible questions to prepare you, please reach out to me here.

It is not for you to prepare to lie or arrange your story ooo.. no! It’s just to be better articulated and coherent when you’re in front of the VO. Cuz those nerves!!! so they don't embarrass you.

All the best guys!!!
