Just last week in Atlanta, Linda hosted friends and family members at her baby shower.

The identity of the baby's father is still unknown.

A woman reached into her underwear and pulled out her menstrual pad with which she slapped her opponent across the face during a fight.

The fight, which broke out on Wednesday somewhere in Miami, reportedly started from social media. The women exchanged words on social media and one of them decided to take it to the streets, so she pulled up to her opponent’s neighborhood for a physical confrontation.

In the process, one of the women reached into her denim cut-off jeans and struggles for a while to remove the winged pad. People held her back and tried to stop her from going ahead with it but she refused.

A student of Bishop David Oyedepo’s citadel of learning, Covenant University has sued the school over the alleged sexual assault by a registrar.

The student identified as Adooh Emmanuel alleged that the registrar of the school sleeps with several females of the higher institution and expels whoever refuses to accept his sexual advances.


He revealed in a Tweet that he was expelled from the school after the registrar used one Omotayo Dada to set him up.

Adooh said the incident happened in April and in his five years in that school, he almost committed suicide for what he knew nothing about.

According to the Tweet, he took the school to court and his lawyer identified as “Mr Falana” helped him win the case.

Some police operatives on Wednesday morning arrested a lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Ogungbeje had represented the alleged billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans.

Policemen said to be from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, swooped on the lawyer as he parked his car at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi on Wednesday morning.

Ogungbeje, who was billed to appear before the vacation judge, Justice Muslim Hassan, was immediately whisked off by the policemen.

The General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, Dr Daniel Olukoya, has filed a libel suit against the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr Omoyele Sowore, demanding N10bn in damages.

In the suit filed before the Akwa Ibom State High Court in Uyo, the MFM founder said he was constrained to take legal action against Sowore, his online platform, Sahara Reporters Incorporated and the Incorporated Trustees of Sahara Media Foundation for their alleged failure to desist from publishing false and malicious articles against him and his church, MFM, since 2013.

The cleric said despite complaints, Sowore and his Sahara Reporters remained intransigent and continued to publish offending stories about him and his church.

Olukoya said he had earlier demanded that Sahara Reporters pull down all the offending stories against him and his church within seven days but Omoyele and his platform refused.

He said having failed to take advantage of the seven days he gave them, he had no other option but to sue them.

The Incorporated Trustees of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries was listed as the first claimant while Olukoya was the second claimant in the suit marked HU/250/2018.

Joined as defendants were Sowore, Incorporated Trustees of Sahara Media Foundation and Sahara Reporters. Apart from the N10bn damages, the cleric and his church are praying the court to order the defendants to “pull down and erase each of the offending stories from the Internet forthwith.”

This unfortunate incident made waves in the media space with so much rancour and ill fated knowledge of the croax of the matter. The driver who was arraigned in march 2017 had suffered both emotional, financial and psychological trauma owing to the fact that he was a victim of circumstance.

Having said this, the Judicial system added a bit of colour to the festival of trouble with slow, poor and staccato mode of adjudication on life threatening matters with several instances to mark as examples. The alleged driver became a known face within the court premises after being able to secure bail with help of family members and friends. Yet his eternal freedom was restored after a year, costing him the normalcy of his life.

Police in northern India on Tuesday said that a major manhunt was underway for eight men accused of having sex with a pregnant goat that later died.

The suspects face prosecution under the colonial era Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code that outlaws “intercourse against the order of nature” — the same provision that also criminalises gay sex.

Police raids were being conducted in the Mewat region of Haryana state, around 100 kilometers (60 miles) from Delhi, to look for the men.

“We have identified three of the eight accused and the police teams are out on raids to arrest them as soon as possible,” police official Naazneen Bhasin told AFP.

The case was launched after the owner of the goat saw three men sexually assaulting the animal late at night last week.

“He initially raised the alarm fearing goat thieves but was shocked at what he saw,” local police inspector Vipin, who only goes by one name, told AFP.

The goat died after the alleged incident. A vet has taken samples for forensic analysis.

The accused are also wanted under the animal cruelty act.

Nollywood actress turned pastor, Eucharia Anunobi has revealed that being a pastor doesn’t stop her from acting roles given to her.

The actress said this while reacting to reports that she has stopped acting.

According to her, “my individuality is different from whatever character I portray in a movie.”

Speaking to the Punch, she said, “Some people think that when you become a minister of the gospel, you are not supposed to have a career. However, being a minister does not stop you from working.

“Since I started acting, I have never taken a break and I am not going there. I think what caused this misconception is that because of the activities of pirates, many movie producers were not publicising our works. So when people don’t see you in movie adverts, they think that you are no longer on the scene.

“As a matter of fact, I just got back from set. Even as a pastor, I can still act a movie like Glamour Girls because my individuality is different from whatever character I portray in a movie. I always tell people that undue exposure of the body that does not add to the story doesn’t make sense.

Operatives of the federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 27 years old man, Destiny Otubanbo for defrauding business owner hough fake bank alerts.

It was gathered that the suspect, had bought exotic cars, phones and other valuables with his fake bank alerts.

The state police commissioner, CP Imohimi Edgal while parading the suspect at the police command headquarters on Monday said Otubanbo met his waterloo when he had approached a phone selling outlet located at Ikota Shopping Complex Lekki, Ajah Lagos.

He had bought three Tecno Camon X-pro phone all valued at N377,500 paying with the fake bank alert.

Edgal said, “ On the 24th May, 2018, the suspect had introduced himself as Mr. Adeleke, a legal practitioner and requested for a Techno Camon X-pro phone valued at seventy-seven thousand, five hundred Naira only ( 77,500:00).

“He claimed he was cashless and wished to pay through telephone transfer the total sum of three hundred and seventy seven thousand, five hundred Naira only ( 377,500:00).

He was given the account details to which the said amount should be credited. After few minutes, he claimed he had credited the said sum. To prove he had, he showed a debit alert from Zenith account number 2110746005, titled, Desitny Ayo Adeleke.

Believing it to be true, the shop owner released the phones to him and requested for his phone number unknown to her that it was a fake alert, the phone number unreachable and the account number non-existent”

CP Edgal said detectives from FSARS and the local police component, got hold of one Marian Amuche the girlfriend of the suspect whose pictures were downloaded from the suspects instagram page.

“Exhibits recovered from him are two Techno phones, One i-phone, ten SIM cards belonging to different networks, Lawyers gown and wig.The said Marian Amuche led detectives to arrest the principal suspect Destiny. On interrogation, Destiny confessed to the crime and that he had sold the phones to buyers he met online”

Speaking on his alleged crime the suspect said ” I am a student of American University but I dropped out of school because there was no money to continue my education.

I don’t go to court to represent anybody but I bought the gown and wig so for N35,0000 just to show off on my instagram page that I am a Lawyer. This is my fifth deal in defrauding people.

The first one was in Port Harcourt where I generated a false alert and bought a car for N5million but the buyer did not sense it was false”.

Asked how he generated the fake alerts, the suspect said ” I have false Zenith bank account. I would falsify the original alert with the use of computer and make it look real”.

LAGOS—FOUNDER and Spiritual Leader of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaji, has said that he would support President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election in 2019 because he is the first black president in history of Africa that has taken the bull by the horns.

A 17-year-old girl simply identified as Peace was rushed to the hospital after feeling weak following a hot marathon cex romp with her lover in Sapele area of Delta state.

It was revealed that the teenage girl started feeling weak and faint after returning from work on Monday evening before she was taken to the hospital for checkup.

According to Sapele Oghenek, a Delta based journalist who shared the news in pidgin English, the doctor after running some tests – revealed that excessive cex was the cause of the girl’s weakness before she was treated and discharged.

On getting home, the girl’s mother who reportedly attends Jehovah’s Witnesses beat her and told her to show her the boy responsible. The teenage girl took her mother to her boyfriend’s house but he had already fled after being alerted.

According to the report, some area boys revealed that the girl’s boyfriend had met them to help him with what to do because his girlfriend was laughing at him that he doesn’t know how to service her well and last long in bed and that her ex-boyfriend was better.

The young man was directed to meet somebody who mixed a concoction for him to drink and be “empowered”.

After drinking the concoction, he went into action with his girlfriend and almost wrecked havoc before she landed in the hospital.

The young man is nowhere to be found after taking off from his house.

Men are being encouraged to have sex more often to beat killer disease cancer. The Cancer Association (CA) claims frequent ejaculation lowers prostate cancer risks that often attacks men, reports Daily Nation.

Hence CA is encouraging men to be sexually active and ensure they at least have 21 ejaculation in a month that will go a long way to help reduce the risk of one them contracting prostate cancer.

According to the body, its research showed that men who ejaculated 21 times a month had a 33% lower risk of contracting prostate cancer.


“Prostate cancers is one the rise and besides encouraging men to eat healthy, we now encourage them to be sexually active and at least have 21 ejaculation in a month as discovered by researchers. Twenty one ejaculation in a month can reduce the risk of prostate cancer by 33 percent as it may flush toxins out of the system,” read part of a statement from CA published by B-Metro.

RISKS OF CANCER

The statement from CA also encouraged men who take alcohol to ensure they only drink three pints of beer (averagely three bottle of beers) in a week and those who smoke to stop the habit immediately to fight cancer.

“Research has also made it clear that men should only drink three pints of beer in a week and women a glass of wine to reduce the risk of cancer,” it continued in part.

The body also cautioned on daily consumption of meat terming it as one of the major cause of cancer and urged its citizens to just eat meat that fills their hand palm in a week.

CA a however advised that the most effective way to curb cancer is by having diet programs, exercises and regular checkups.

According to the body, more people are now dying of cancer as compared to other diseases and infections namely tuberculosis and HIV.

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye has warned that there might be no Nigeria in 2019, not to talk about a general election.

The cleric was quoted as saying on Friday, at the May 2018 Holy Ghost service that there was no way he could continue to keep quiet while the killings, which had been counted in thousands this year alone, went on.

It came against the backdrop of the recent killings of two Catholic Church priest in Benue State, a fortnight ago and several attacks on churches, which prompted US President, Donald Trump to vow before President Muhammadu Buhari in Washington that he would do something, very quickly to end the killing of Christians in Nigeria.


Adeboye, speaking on the theme, ‘Stronger Than Your Enemies – 5 (Habitation of the Almighty)’ said: “There is no father that will lose 19 children in a day and be quiet. It doesn’t matter the denominations. All Christians in Nigeria call me daddy, so when anyone of them dies it’s my son that is dead.

“We need to pray because unless these killings stop immediately even Nigeria may not live. We are not talking about individuals we are talking about Nigeria itself.

“A bishop asked me sometimes ago what God has revealed to me about 2019 election.


“I told him I am not sure there would be an election because unless these killings stop, there may be no election next year, I’m not prophesying but this is so because no one will go out to vote if not sure they will return home safely.


“I have seen war at a close range, there is nothing good about it. A nation may survive a civil war but no nation can survive a religious war and remain the same.

“That Nigeria may live and not experience religious war these killings must stop.”

I believe in doing what suits me and I don’t interfere with anybody’s way of life. For the actress that advised others, I don’t think she is wrong. It’s a very sensitive issue and I don’t really want to talk about it. I am sure that all the actresses that have been involved in such issues would have their reasons for doing whatever they did. The Nigeria Police on Monday directed the Afrobeats star, Oladapo Olabanji, “D’banj’’, to make a formal report on the circumstances that led to the death of his son.

Mr Edgal Imohimi, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, said that the family should report the incident to the police after the period of mourning.

D’banj lost his only son, Daniel Oyebanjo, who turned one year in May, in a swimming pool inside the singer’s Lagos home on June 24.

CSP Chike Oti, the command’s spokesman, quoted Imohimi as saying in a statement that the state command had sent a delegation to condole with the family.

“The CP wants the family to know that at this period of their grief, the entire command shares in their pains.

“It is expected that when the mourning period is over, the family will formally report the circumstances that led to the unfortunate death of the little Daniel to the police,’’ Imohimi said.

Controversial rapper XXXTentacion was shot dead, but video circulating on the web has some fans believing he's still very much alive.

The video being shared by fans shows the 20-year-old musician, born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, laughing at previous reports that he died.

'Xxxtentacion is not dead. Is this true?' One Twitter user asked.

Another said: 'The death seems to be fake.'


It appears, based on context, that the video statement is in response to a 2017 stunt in which XXXTentacion pretended to hang himself on Instagram. The act sparked outrage online and fear that fans would copy him.


Broward County Sheriff's Department officials confirmed that the troubled recording artist died after being shot on Monday.


'The adult male that was taken to the hospital has been pronounced dead,' The police department revealed in a tweet. They later confirmed XXXTentacion's identity.


Here's what you need to know.


Who is XXXTentacion?

XXXTentacion was an American rapper, born on January 23, 1998. He was 20 years old.

He was born in Plantation, Florida to parents Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy and Cleopatra Bernard, but raised by grandmother Collette Jones.

XXXTentacion had a difficult upbringing. He was placed into a youth program before being sent to live with his grandmother after he attempted to stab a man who went after his mother. He was six years old at the time.

XXXTentacion was removed from middle school for being involved in a series of physical altercations and was enrolled in Sheridan House Family Ministries by his mother.

After that, he attended Piper High School, dropping out in tenth grade. By his own account, he was involved in a number of fights and was not part of the more popular crowd at the school.

In 2013, XXXTentacion's career began with the release of his song Vice City. His first EP followed in November 2014. He later released a joint venture with Ski Mask the Slump God called Members Only Vol. 1, followed by Members Only Vol. 2 in 2015.

The rapper's second EP, Willy Wonka Was a Child Murderer, came out in 2016. The project was heavily influenced by a heavy metal sound.

He landed his first Billboard Hot 100 song in 2017 after the re-release of his single Look At Me. The song helped propel him into the mainstream.

In April of that same year, XXXTentacion announced his first nationwide tour, called The Revenge Tour.

Several highly publicized incidents occurred early on in the tour, including the rapper being knocked unconscious, an audience member being stabbed, XXXTentacion being tossed into a barricade by a security guard and the rapper punching a fan.

He cancelled the remainder of the dates in June 2017 after his cousin was shot.

Shortly after, he was chosen to be part of XXL's 2017 Freshman Class, XXXTentacion made his major labor debut with his mixtape, Revenge. All eight songs on the project were previously released independently.

His debut album, 17, came out in August 2017. It landed at number two on the Billboard 200 and sold 86,000 album-equivalent units in the first week.

XXXTentacion released his first song of 2018 in February. The track was called Shining Like the North Star. Later that month he put a song called Hope on SoundCloud and dedicated it to the victims of the Parkland shooting.

In March 2018 he announced the forthcoming release of his album, titled '?'. The lead single was called Sad!

The album, which featured collaborations with Joey Bada$$, Travis Barker and more, came out on March 16, 2018. It landed at number one on the Billboard 200.


How did XXXTentacion get famous?

XXXTentacion was considered a talented artist by many. He was respected by prominent figures in the hip-hop community, including Kanye West, Juicy J, Joey Bada$$ and more. Despite his success as a musician, controversy seems to be what skyrocketted XXXTentacion to fame.

The rapper had several run-ins with the law that ranged from robbery to a violent domestic assault. XXXTentacion was awaiting trial for the latter when he died.

He's accused of threatening, hitting, kicking, strangling, and even kidnapping his pregnant ex-girlfriend.

The victim recounted the abuse she claimed to have suffered in a testimony obtained by Pitchfork.

XXXTentacion was arrested in October 2016 and charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness tampering. He pleaded not guilty, but was detained for violating a previous house arrest agreement anyway.

He was finally released in March 2017 after pleading no contest to armed home-invasion robbery and battery.

In June of that year he was recorded punching a fan during a show in Salt Lake City, Utah.

XXXTentacion returned to jail in December 2017 for witness tampering and harassment. TMZ reported that he coerced his ex-girlfriend into signing documents in which she claimed she wanted to drop charges against him.

He was said to be facing 'decades in prison'. The rapper was eventually released and placed on house arrest, which ended in March 2018.

Weeks before his death, the rapper stirred the pot one final time in an interview with the Miami New Times in which he was asked about feminism and the #MeToo movement.


He diminished the concept of feminism saying: 'Women may see or feel that they're belittled, but you're only belittled if you want to be belittled.'

Speaking on #MeToo, he said that many allegations 'can go off hearsay' adding that 'women are almost more powerful than men' because of it.

XXXtentacion shot

XXXTentacion was shot on Monday outside a motorcycle shop in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Video footage from the incident appears to show the rapper slumped over the wheel of his car after shots rang out.

The shooting occurred at about 3:57pm ET. Police released a statement describing a developing incident regarding a shooting located at 3671 N. Dixie Hwy., Deerfield Beach.

'An adult male victim was transported to an area hospital,' they said.

Police later tweeted: 'The adult male that was taken to the hospital has been pronounced dead.'

Another tweet from the department read: 'BSO homicide detectives said the 20-year-old victim was leaving RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach shortly before 4pm when he was approached by two armed suspects.

'At least one of the suspects fired a gun striking Onfroy. Both of the suspects fled in a dark-color SUV. Investigators say it appears to be a possible robbery.'

A Louis Vuitton bag was reportedly stolen from XXXTentacion's vehicle.

Where was XXXtentacion shot?

XXXTentacion was shot while leaving RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

XXXtentacion still alive?

XXXTentacion was pronounced dead shortly after he was taken to an area hospital to be treated for injuries resulting from the shooting.

Who killed XXXTentacion?

It's unclear, at this time, who killed XXXTentacion. Rumors are circulating online, but police have yet to confirm that they've found his killer or killers.

Rappers Soldier Kidd and Soldier Jojo have denied any part in the shooting.

'I've been seeing a lot of comments, I've been seeing a lot things [SIC] going on social media saying that I had something to do with XXXtentacion's passing,' Soldier Kidd said on Instagram.

'My condolences go to the man's family and whatnot. [But] I had nothing to do with it, but I'm going to keep my head up and stay positive like I always do.'

For his part, Soldier Jojo said: 'We respect everybody, straight up. We ain't with none of that s**t man. I respect that man for what he is and RIP to that man.'

It's also been reported that controversial rapper 6ix9ine may have had a part in XXXtentacion's shooting. Those rumors remain unfounded.

The musician's were on good terms when XXXtentacion was alive. In fact, on June 16, 2018, 6ix9ine shared a direct message conversation in which he warned XXXtentacion: 'Be safe okay? Never let your guard down.'

A hookah is a single or multi-stemmed instrument for smoking flavoured tobacco (shisha) or sometimes cannabis, whose vapour or smoke is passed through a water basin, often glass based before inhalation.

For some, smoking shisha is a handy way to relax after a hard day’s work or study, and to others it is a key part of their daily routine, recreational activities and social gatherings.

Many youths are increasingly smoking hookah and it has become a prized possession in many homes in Nigeria.

Some people think that smoking shisha is a harmless practice, and that it does no harm to the health like cigarettes and other forms of tobacco products. Some also add Indian hemp and other substances to it before smoking.

Medical experts, however, warn that shisha is harmful to health and also addictive.

Shisha smoking is very prevalent in Nigeria and socially accepted, especially among the youth, according to Dr. Nnenna Ezeigwe, National Coordinator, Non-Communicable Diseases, Federal Ministry of Health.

She said: “Shisha bars are becoming very popular in urban centres and springing up at a very fast rate. It is also worrisome that shisha is readily available and accessible to users through the internet. The unfortunate thing is that most of those who do shisha are ignorant of the content. Some erroneously believe it is a safer version of tobacco.”

Dr. Ezeigwe said contrary to the erroneous belief by many people, shisha is actually more harmful than tobacco.

She said this is because the average shisha-smoking session lasts an hour and that research has shown that within such sessions, it is possible to inhale smoke equivalent to more than 100 cigarettes.

“Also, many people erroneously believe that shisha smoking is not addictive because the water used in the pipe can absorb nicotine,” she said. “However the quantity of nicotine absorbed by water is insignificant and so shisha users are still exposed to enough nicotine to cause an addiction. It is important to know that second hand smoke from shisha is also harmful to exposed persons,” she warned.

Dr. Ezeigwe said shisha is a tobacco product and contains nicotine, which is the addictive constituent of tobacco, as well as several other harmful components, many of which are carcinogens.

In addition to cancer, she said shisha, like other tobacco products, is a risk factor for other non-communicable diseases, notably cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and chronic respiratory disorders, including asthma. It is also associated with periodontal disease and low birth weight, male infertility, gastro-oesophageal reflux and impaired mental health. Also, those who share mouth piece for shisha are at risk of tuberculosis and hepatitis, Dr Ezeigwe added.

Dr. Uche Onwufor, Executive Director of Gynae Care Research and Cancer Foundation, said there is a growing misconception amongst the populace that shisha smoking is not as bad as cigarettes smoking, because the tobacco is flavoured and passes through water first.

“But the cancer-causing agents and nicotine are still there. People who smoke shisha regularly are at risk to similar health problems that cigarette smokers face, whether its respiratory, heart disease or cancer. Also, people who smoke shisha are at risk of spreading tuberculosis (TB), oral herpes, influenza and some other airborne diseases. As with other tobacco products, regular shisha smokers will find it addictive, to the point that they may need it every day,” he said.

Is shisha banned?

Dr Ezeigwe, said in line with the Standards of Nigeria (SON) regulation for standards on tobacco products, all flavoured tobacco products are prohibited. Therefore shisha being a flavoured tobacco product is banned.

“Besides, the National Tobacco Control (NTC) Act, prohibits the sale of tobacco products via the internet. Therefore all those dealing with shisha either in stores, bars, internet or any other way are contravening the law and liable to prosecution,” he added.

On what government is doing and plans in place to reduce the scourge, the national coordinator said the NTC Act provides for a multi-sectoral committee of relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to coordinate tobacco control efforts in Nigeria.

She said: “This committee, known as the National Tobacco Control Committee was inaugurated in 2016 and has been working to raise awareness on the harmful effects of tobacco and tobacco products; sensitize the public on the provisions of the NTC Act and penalty for contravention. The committee is also engaging with the law enforcement agencies to encourage them to enforce the law.”

The police said the erring officers face disciplinary action that could lead to reduction in rank or dismissal. The Lagos State Police Command have arrested and detained two officers who were caught on camera counting coupons they collected from a game of gambling popularly referred to as "Baba Ijebu".

The State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal was said to have ordered the arrest of the officers.

This was disclosed by the command's spokesman, Chike Oti, in a statement issued on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

According to him, the command got to know about the recorded video in which the officers were seen counting gambling coupons and not bribe money collected from motorists as claimed by witnesses.



He said Egal ordered the immediate detention of the policemen who were stationed near Zenith Bank, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.

The statement said, "The attention of the Lagos state police command has been drawn to the news making the rounds on a social media platform that policemen stationed near Zenith Bank, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos, were seen counting bribes received and smoking.

"Based on the allegation, the CP Lagos ordered for their arrest, detention and trial. Meanwhile, preliminary investigation into the case revealed that the men weren’t counting bribes received as alleged but coupons they collected from a game of gambling they played a.k.a Baba Ijebu.

A teenager, Jose Ernestor da Silva, is in a critical condition in the hospital after having his penis and part of his leg ripped off in a shark attack in Brazil on Sunday.

According to Mirror UK, Ernestor da Silva was attacked on Sunday afternoon while bathing in waters off the Piedade beach near Recife, on Brazil’s northeast coast.

The 18-year-old was swimming with his brother and friends in deep water close to the shore despite the area being marked by signs warning of shark attacks.

According to local media, he was attacked just as lifeguards told the group to come closer to the shore.

Witnesses filmed the moment Jose was pulled from the ocean and many can be heard screaming as other beach goers attempt to stem the blood and patch up his injuries before emergency crews arrived.

Others can reportedly be heard telling Jose to ‘breathe.’

The injured teenager was rushed to hospital, where he is understood to have suffered two heart attacks and is in a critical condition.

He underwent emergency surgery after the bite, believed to be from a tiger shark, according to medics.

Ambulance medic Wagner Monteiro said Jose had one heart attack after arriving at the local Aeronautica Hospital and another as he was being transported to the Restauracao Hospital in the centre of Recife.

He said: “The shark bite amputated his femur and his penis. He lost a lot of blood and is in a critical condition.”

Jose’s mother Elisangela dos Anjos, 42, told Brazil’s JC Online website that he had gone to the beach without her knowledge.


She found out about the attack from his brother Ezequiel, who was with him, who called her from the beach.

Speaking from the hospital, she said: “He would go in secret, because he knew that I thought it was dangerous. I wasn’t worried because I thought he was somewhere around the house.

“When I heard about it, I went crazy, all the neighbours heard me screaming.”

Rodrigo Matias, from Recife’s fire department said as the group was drifting further out, lifeguards called for them to return to shallower waters.

Members of Mexico’s national football squad held a farewell party with around 30 prostitutes before the team traveled to Europe ahead of the World Cup, reports said Tuesday.

According to the TVNotas gossip magazine, nine members of Mexico’s World Cup squad partied with dozens of escorts at a private compound in Mexico City last Saturday following the team’s 1-0 win over Scotland at the Aztec Stadium.

The magazine published grainy images of players arriving at the party under the headline “The true farewell of the Tri!”.

However, Mexican officials said the players involved will not be sanctioned because they attended the party in their free time.

Guillermo Cantu, general secretary of the Mexican Football Federation, said the players would not be punished because “they have not missed training.”

“A free day is a free day and those are the risks that one runs with freedom,” Cantu was quoted as saying.

Among the players in attendance were goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and Benfica striker Raul Jimenez.

Los Angeles Galaxy brothers Jonathan and Giovani dos Santos also attended, along with defender Carlos Salcedo and midfielder Marco Fabian, who both play for Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.

The Mexico team is already in Copenhagen, where they are preparing for a friendly against Denmark on Saturday before heading on to Russia.

The controversy echoes similar scandals which have swirled around the team in recent years.

In September 2010, Mexico players partied with women after a game in Monterrey. On that occasion, all participants were fined while defender Efrain Juarez and forward Carlos Vela were suspended from the selection for six months.

The Muslim Rights Concern has said that by featuring hijab-clad women dancing Shaku Shaku in his latest video, Falz has offended Nigerian Muslims.

MURIC on Tuesday demanded that Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, popularly called Falz the Bahd Guy, withdraw his latest music video, This is Nigeria, or face legal action.

The Convener of MURIC, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, in a telephone conversation with our correspondent, reiterated that the “video was a slap on the face of Islamdom.”

Akintola said, “That video is provocative. That video depicts Muslim women dancing Shaku shaku.

“According to Falz, it represents the Chibok girls. [But] Chibok girls cannot be known to be dancing. They are despondent, they are in despair, they are frustrated. They have not been rescued. There are so many of them in captivity and all Nigerians are praying for them. So, how can they be dancing?

“So, it is ironical; it doesn’t represent reality. The video itself is a slap on Islamdom.”

The Professor of Islamic Eschatology added that MURIC chose to take the legal route, rather than the route of violence, so as not to further denigrate the name of Islam.

“Some Nigerians cannot just be taking things for granted. This country is fraudulent. Our Constitution contains freedom of religion but people don’t give us that respect.

“Even the people who are supposed to call defaulters to order pretend to be sleeping when Muslims are knocked on the head.

“And when lawless people go to the streets, using the name of Islam to destroy, to be violent, to beat up people, destroy houses, destroy government properties, to kill and maim, the media is happy that the name of Islam is being destroyed.

“We are against that. We are against violence. And that is why we are taking this guy to court. If he doesn’t withdraw that video and if he doesn’t apologise to Nigerians, especially the Nigerian Muslims.”

Asked if MURIC would speak with the rap artiste, Akintola reiterated that the Islamic organisation was not opposed to dialogue if Falz so wishes, but that MURIC would not call him first.

Akintola, however, restated the legal repercussions if Falz fails to accede to the organisation’s demands within seven days, starting on Tuesday (today).
MURIC had, earlier on Tuesday, issued a statement demanding that Falz withdraw his This is Nigeria video and to also tender an apology within seven days for using women wearing hijabs and dancing Shaku shaku.

The group also dragged the National Films and Videos Censors Board into the matter and hinted at a possible legal battle unless Falz withdraws the video and tenders an apology within seven days.

Falz has not responded to phone calls and a text message as of the time of filing this report.
