*NEC MOBILIZATION TEAM VISITATION* In view of the persisting failures of the Federal Government of Nigeria to adequately address all the issues that precipitated our last strike action, and the fallouts thereafter, it was resolved at the last KASU NEC meeting that a NEC Mobilization Team will undertake a visitation to all Branches to mobilize, interact and strategize for an appropriate and effective response to the callous negligence of the Federal Government towards university education and the welfare of university academics. Consequently, a three-man NEC Mobilization Team will visit our Branch and hold Congress with us on *Wednesday 31st January 2024 by 10am dot at NEEDS Assessment Auditorium* . *Note* : Two university coaster buses will be available at CES to convey Comrades to and fro the venue of the Congress. The two buses will leave CES by 9am to Ikwo and convey us back immediately after Congress to Abakaliki. We thank our university management for this solidarity! *Call to Action* 1. Attend the Branch Congress of *Wednesday, 31st January 2024 punctually.* 2. Demonstrate your unwavering commitment to ASUU and its leadership by actively mobilizing other members of the Union within your sphere of influence to attend. 3. Be an invaluable resource for an effective strategic response by ASUU to the Federal Government's insensitivity to our welfare and working conditions. 4. Come prepared to engage constructively with the NEC Mobilization Team. 5. Let us join hands to reclaim our place! 5. Let us take our destiny in our own hands. *It must be solidarity without compromise!* _*We shall overcome!!*_ Yours in-the-struggle, Louis Omenyi (Branch Chairperson) |

flourishing247: They were locked out. Trade disputes act 43 section b is of the opinion that if an employer locks out his employees he must pay them. ASUU locked the schools through the VCs and the law has protected the CONUA members. If u ask who they taught at that period, it shows u are ignorant of the law. The law in section 43a states that if an employee goes on strike, he loses his pay n entitlements. It’s simple. 1 Like |

BABANGBALI: Can u see why ASUU is fighting the federal government to ensure university education gets to the poor? Yet, most of u do not support ASUU. Who will fight for the poor here? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Mikkyprime: Thank God the press release is out to define the stance of lecturers. It is now left for government to improve on the offer. Negotiations can continue, u can’t imagine the highest paid Prof is #416k and u are adding only 60k to his salary. Would anyone here accept such offers? Let’s be sincere, Nigerian lecturers are the worst paid in African and the government is not willing to improve the take home pay of these lecturers. How many of us wants to be lecturers after graduation? We don’t want o because of the poor pay but go to FIRS and see a first degree holder earning about 400k a Prof is earning. Allow ASUU to strike for a better welfare package so that they can retain the best brains. 1 Like |
