OP, what do you expect Buhari to go and do? Swim in the flooded streets? This is a natural disaster, the president has directed emergency agencies to start work, people are being evacuated where possible. Let's not be hypocritical, no sane person will go to a place of natural disaster talkless of a sane democracy sending their Commander in chief, may be when it's over Buhari might decide to visit, but for now let's all pray for the people there and not play politics with their predicament.
Politics / The Man On Your TV Sets Is Not Buhari- Nnamdi Kanu (video) by Sadeik: 4:35pm On Sep 04, 2017
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), affirmed that the person presently ruling the country is not Muhammadu Buhari, claiming that the Nigerian government hired a look-alike to stand in for the president.

“The man you are looking at on the television is not Buhari, he is Jibril from Sudan. After extensive plastic surgery they brought him back. The person was taught Buhari’s mannerisms and he came back deceiving all of you. I can stand and prove who I am but Buhari cannot do the same thing. He cannot deceive Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB,” the IPOB leader said.

Mr. Kanu also said that arresting him for his secessionist agitation was “the worst mistake” Mr. Buhari made. He told his supporters that he would be appearing in court for his hearing and directed them to “burn down” Nigeria if he is rearrested.

“The worst mistake Buhari ever made was to arrest me. I will break the zoo into pieces. I am taking IPOB to Abuja on the 17th of next month for my court case. There will be 2 million people in Abuja. We take the battle to our enemies. You are under oath and by virtue of that oath you are under direct order from me, any day you hear I have been arrested, to burn down Nigeria to the ground.”

He also condemned The Sun Newspaper for publishing untrue stories about him. Debunking a report made by The Sun newspaper that he is on the run, Mr. Kanu blasted the newspaper for feeding the people with lies.

“It wasn’t my wish to speak but the more I keep quiet the more they keep lying. I am under oath to defend IPOB and I will do so. We can never, ever surrender. Don’t mind the lies they are feeding you. People want to sell their newspapers, they fabricate nonsense.” Mr. Kanu said.

Mr. Kanu, who is currently at the forefront of the Biafran secessionist movement, encouraged his people not to believe anything they hear from the media but only what he speaks.

Politics / Only A ‘mad’ Person Will Not Celebrate The Recovery Of The President – Gov. Wike by Sadeik: 11:12pm On Aug 21, 2017
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has expressed gratitude to God for the health and safe return of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He also stated that regardless of the party one belongs to, it would be insane for anyone not to be happy about the President’s return.

“It does not matter the party he belongs to, he is our president whether you like it or not, No sane person will say that his own president is sick then he will not rejoice when God has healed him, I don’t think that person is sane.

“For me, it is something that I must have to thank God almighty, you know what has happened these few days, the conjectures, the rumours and the rest of it so we are happy and that is why I am here today irrespective of the party I belong to.”

Governor Wike said this at the weekend after the President returned on Saturday from the UK where he was undergoing medical treatment.

He returned to wild Jubilation from across the country while many still have high expectations over what his next line of action will be.

However, in a nationwide address on Monday morning, President Buhari stressed firmly among other issues that Nigeria’s unity is not negotiable, in an apparent response to recent threats of quit notices and secession by some groups.

If you don't know what middle school means, a simple google search would have sufficed, but no let us smear Buhari's name at all cost. Useless zombies.
Muhammadu Buhari was born on 17 December 1942, in Daura, Katsina State, to his father Adamu and mother Zulaihat. He is the twenty-third child of his father. Buhari was raised by his mother, after his father died when he was about four years old.[10]

He attended primary school in Daura and Mai'adua before proceeding to Katsina Model School in 1953, and to Katsina Provincial Secondary School (now Government College Katsina) from 1956 to 1961.

Business / Reflections On Arabic Inscriptions On Nigeria's Currency by Sadeik: 3:17pm On Jun 28, 2016
By
Dr. Nowa Omoigui

The only reason an Arabic inscription is, in combination with English, on Nigeria's currency today is the influence of history.

It has been so from the very first time paper currency was printed for Nigerian use (either for British or indigenous Traders). Before the Nigerian pound (replaced in 1973 by Naira and Kobo), the old West African Currency Board (WACB) pound (also known as West African Pound (WAP)) was in use, first from 1913 in restricted distribution, and then more generally from 1946 until 1959 in Nigeria, 1957 in Ghana, 1965 in Gambia and 1964 in Sierra Leone. Liberia also used the currency until 1943 when it changed to the U.S. dollar. British Southern Cameroon used it too, until the plebiscite of 1961.

The WAP - from which the post-independence currencies of Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Gambia were derived - also had Arabic inscriptions on it.

The original reason for Arabic was that Frederick Lugard (who was the first Commander of the West African Frontier Force (1897 - 99) and later the first High Commissioner of Northern Nigeria (1899 - 1906); and later the Governor of the protectorates of Northern and Southern Nigeria (1912 - 1914); and finally the first Governor General of post-amalgamation Nigeria (1914 - 1919 ); identified Arabic the only written "indigenous" language anywhere in Nigeria/West Africa, particularly among the widely spread Hausa trader class across the region. (See Lugard report to Parliament, 1919) Arabic inscriptions were, therefore, used as symbols, not only for currency but even on official West African Frontier Force badges etc... which persist until today in Nigerian Army badges etc...

In the mind of the British colonial administrators in Nigeria - whose administrative experience was heavily influenced by their military service in Northern Nigeria and other parts of the sahel belt of West Africa - rightly or wrongly, Arabic writing was to West Africa as Latin was to Europe. In addition to English, therefore, they used Arabic to domesticate British instruments meant for local use. The fact that such symbols still exist is one of many scars of the era of colonial rule. However, not all former British West African colonies still use Arabic translations on their currencies as a footnote to history. Nigeria and Gambia do. Ghana and Sierra Leone do not:

Nigeria http://www.kcshop.com/fc/p.php?pic=F1948

Gambia http://www.kcshop.com/fc/p.php?pic=F3451

Ghana http://www.kcshop.com/fc/p.php?pic=F623
http://www.bog.gov.gh/aboutus/currency.htm

Sierra Leone http://www.kcshop.com/fc/p.php?pic=F1704

In the West African Francophone colonies, where the local Franc (CFA) was adopted, the French policy of association and assimilation persisted, and the language used was exclusively French. No outlet was allowed for any indigenous written language.

http://www.kcshop.com/fc/p.php?pic=F4262

In summary, the persistence of Arabic writing in some Nigerian State instruments to this day is the legacy of one man - Lord FD Lugard - "our" first Governor General.

By the way, coincidentally, the word "Naira" means "big eyes" in the Andean language of Quechua, where it is used as a name for girls. It is also a Spanish name - Naira o Nayra - for both boys and girls. We were probably not aware of this in 1973 when - in an effort to escape from the "colonial" word "pound" - we adapted the name "Naira" from the word "Nigeria" - which in of by itself was originally suggested by then Flora Shaw (later Lady Flora Lugard) by collapsing the colonial geographical phrase "Niger-Area". "Niger-Area" became "Nigeria" on January 8th, 1897.

Even the word "Niger" is not indigenous. As I have observed elsewhere, the word "Niger" is actually a Greek imposed Latin name, which means "Black" or “very dark brown”. Needless to point out that the word "Area" is English.

Lastly, come to think of it, all I have written on the subject above is in English, which, whether spoken or written, is neither indigenous to my Edo nationality or Nigeria.

It seems we have a crisis of identity in every direction we turn!

Naira Dari biyar, Naira dari, Naira dubu and Naira biyar. It is not Arabic per se but Ajami Arabic which is when hausa language is written in Arabic letters, I believe it was used because the Hausa people have been using this method of writing for hundreds of years, and even those that are not educated are believed to be able to read this.

I don't have anything against him going for a medical trip. But government should be transparent else the nation will suffer
Are you kidding me? Ask anyone that watched any tv station in Nigeria yesterday. THIS IS THE ACTUAL VIDEO OF HIM ARRIVING. And so what if this is not his first medical trip, the last time I checked it is not a crime to get sick. The President is alive, well and in charge, deal with it!

What re you even saying,, what other evidence do they need rather the fact that a looted money was recovered from them , unless the money was not recovered then i will say there wasn't any evidence, and for how long will there case remain in court
The looted monies are the evidence, and the cases are going to remain in court for as long as the presiding judges see fit, possibly through the period of appeal. And if by any chance a judge finds any of them innocent the government has to give them back the money, that is the beauty of democracy, everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

Politics / Buhari Returns To Nigeria After Vacation In London by Sadeik: 5:55pm On Jun 19, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Nigeria on Sunday after 10 days official vacation in London.

He arrived in Abuja, the nation’s capital, at about 5:30 p.m. local time.

The President had travelled to the UK on June 6 to rest and also see an E.N.T. specialist for ear infection evaluation.

A spokesman for the President, Mr Femi Adesina, had in a statement said President Buhari’s Personal Physician and an E.N.T. Specialist had recommended further evaluation of the ear after they had examined him.
On June 16, the acting President of Nigeria and the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, said President Buhari would return to Nigeria on Sunday.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo hinted State House correspondents of the President’s return date before the National Executive Council meeting held in the council chambers.

The Vice President said that he spoke with the President and confirmed that he was in good health.

Professor Osinbajo said that there was no need for the President to start rushing back to the country but should spend the weekend there and get back home on Sunday.
