Happy new month teamies, I guess we are all doing fine, how are the cute ones in the bump doing? I believe by now we should be through with shopping and plan on packing hospital bags because porting is allowed.

We thank God for bringing us this far, I pray he won't forsake any of us. May we all give birth successfully and carry our bundle of joys with us home. After February comes March, we cannot wait to shake this thread with out back to back BA.

Sabi mamas, good evening o. Please I've been having stomach tightening for some weeks now,with no pain (braxon hicks) ..but these past few days it has been a bit painful..it comes with this cramps feeling at my lower back that radiates to my butt and legs. Although they are not regular but they are frequent..no bloody show or discharge..saw small bits of mucus last week but it was clear and not stained with blood. Do you think it's real contractions..I'm going for ante natal tomorrow tho. I'm team March

Father, we thank you for your all pregnant women on this thread and how far you have brought us in this journey. We are grateful for all we are going through in this pregnancy because its a privilege to experience this miracle, accept our thanks in Jesus name.

We commit ourselves in your hands, Lord protect and guide us through the remaining days of this journey. We commit our babies in your hands, lord keep them and we ask for divine protection for them.

For every developmental stages they still have ahead of them before delivery, lord make it easy for them and let there be no abnormalities in Jesus name.

We ask lord for Healthy babies that will honour you and we their parents in Jesus name

Lord, as many that are due, bring them to supernatural delivery by your mercy with Mother alive, baby alive and father rejoicing with plenty money in Jesus name.

Mums would you recommend electric or manual breast pump? I’ve heard some people say manual is better as electricity near the breast is not good/healthy. But I’ve heard electric breast pump is faster and more efficient. Which one?

Well I think it depends on the situation, with my first I had a manual avent breast pump and it was perfect for me because at that time I wasnt working and I mostly pumped so that my mum could feed baby at night while I slept..so it served its purpose...but if you're working and would need to keep a lot of expressed breast milk for baby I think electric would be better..its faster and more efficient. With regards to safety I haven't heard of any electrical accident associated with breast pumps so far and you'll obviously dry it before connecting to electricity

Good evening mamas in the house,my wife went for her routine check up today and she came back to inform me that the nurse said they shouldn't add more than 12.5kg during pregnancy whereas she has added up to 20kg.How true is this information please?

Well I dont think theres a specific weight limit, but at the same time your doctors won't advise that you add so much weight during pregnancy, it's important to maintain a healthy weight/lifestyle in order to reduce the risk of complications that may arise during pregnancy/delivery.

Present cappo..Thank God for bringing us this far. The journey is almost over. Tiredness is very real, every minute going to the toilet. Planning to start shopping very soon..been very lazy

Mamas biko besides eating whole organic pineapple till my tongue burns like it's currently hurting, what else can one do to effectively encourage labor? I had some contractions on Sunday which later stopped, saw my doctor yesterday and was 2cm dilated.
Aside some very mild contractions that I can barely feel, there is nothing else going on here and I want baby out, we don kuku reach our farthest due date, the rest has been passed.
I don't want to go the castor oil route except as a last measure.

Every input will be appreciated.

Have you tried walking?..walking helped me a lot in my previous pregnancy..also nipple stimulation/pumping. All in all your body has to be ready too.

Please I need help urgently!!!
My incision site is bringing out pus, I went to the hospital to complain 3 days ago and my antibiotic was changed to a stronger one. I was told it's because water enters the site while bathing because it was almost dried up before we were discharged..
I was told to stop bathing for now if I can't control water flow to the site and clean it with savlon and moko spirit.
Please what else can I do to help the site heal fast.

Sorry about that mama but please keeping the incision site dry cannot be over emphasized...please. when I had mine, it was dressed 3 times a week(cleaning with cotton wool and spirit and it was bandaged)..i didnt fully have my bath till it completely closed at 8/9 days.. i used towel and hot water with soap to clean my body and that was when my doctor removed the bandage. Please keep the site clean and dry...rest a lot..dont move around too much so you'll heal very well and wear free clothing that wont rub against the site,take your drugs well too..I wish you quick recovery.

Hi mama.. congratulations again. Based on my little experience,you shouldn't be feeling feverish and the pain should be getting better and more manageable. Try to take things easy and be very mindful of the incision site..always keep it dry so it wont get infected..if the pains continue to worsen and the fever persists please see your doctor

First of all scans can lie!!! Especially when the pregnancy has gone far. Go to another centre and redo the scan. one of my 3rd trimester scans told me my son was weighing 5k!! And threw me in panic mode ( he came out 4kg).


Secondly go check for gestational diabetes, GD is the number 1 culprit when baby weight goes off the chat.

Try and check at another centre and have them measure babies head size and femur length(something called percentile or so) to be sure the weight is not just a tall baby rather than big.

I haven't even done the scan yet just planning to do it today..its the fundal height or so that doctors measure with measuring tape that put me at 32 weeks, which doctor said could be a sign that baby is very big..my GD test is in 3 weeks so I guess I'll know by then. Good evening mummies please I dont understand how my belly is measuring 8 weeks ahead oh. I'm currently 24 weeks but today when doctor measured he said 32 weeks and I have been worried..am I expecting a massive baby ?...I dont eat anything out of the ordinary so I'm wondering how this baby keeps growing bigger and bigger.. please anyone with similar experience?..how did you manage it and was your baby too big

Hi mama..your hospital should give you a list of important things to buy for baby and to also bring to the hospital for delivery. Based on personal experience tho..I can mention a few:
Baby bath set
Baby bed.
Car seat..if you need one
Wardrobe/cabinet
Clothes (sleepsuits,bodysuits ..very important for the first few months since you and baby wont go out frequently,socks,hats etc).
Bottle set,if you want to supplement breastfeeding.
Diapers,wipes,bathing essentials, etc
Basically there are a lot of stuff to buy but you just to prioritize and get the most important stuff..depends on your budget tho.

Pls help me tnk God ooo.... I gave birth yesterday on the 22nd of NOV.. clock in2 d hospital 8:30.... Was induced by 9pm bcs i was due by a day... N i gave birth 10:32pm to my prince charming looking very handsome tru Vagina delivery n with many tears thou, baby was 3.1kg at 35weeks... Didnt do scan b4 goin in2 labour so i guess e is 3.5kg at 40weeks (chai!!! D stitching no b here lol)

Gracious God, we thank you for our mummies trusting you for the fruit of the womb because you will visit them and their expectations will not be cut short. We know your report supercede any doctor's report therefore we believe in your word that says "NONE shall be barren " Father let this be their the portion as they begin to announce their BFP, Amen.

We pray for all pregnant women on this thread and others associated with us, Supernatural delivery is their portion. we will hear the voices of both mother and baby(ies). We pray evil attendant, nurse or doctor won't be on ground on the day of their delivery and we come against any mistakes. Amen

We pray for our children both the ones in the womb and the ones around us, may God's hand of protection rest on them, no stillbirth or abnormalities will not be recorded concerning the unborn babies and accident and death is not the portion of our children. Amen

As 4 me, i stick 2 my ferrous, folic acid, vit c n b/complex till now.... Nva took pregnacare.... If u wanna tk pregnacare, jst tk dt only, dont combine wit ferrous, folic acid, vit c n b/complex 4 u nt 2 b takin overdose.... My doc didnt allow me tk pregnacare cos e said it does hv much iron in it... So i stick 2 d other n my pcv r great.

Hello beautiful people..please I need clarification on this routine drugs ish..prior to registering in the hospital I was on pregnacare,used it for my previous pregnancy too. This time around I was given routine drugs(calcium,ferrous,vitc and folic acid)..so my question is..can I use the 2 together ,are the routine drugs better than pregnacare or should i just stick to pregnacare ?
