An anti-rape female condom using a different design was invented by Sonnet Ehlers, a South African woman.

Ehlers was motivated to create it while working as a blood technician with the South African Blood Transfusion Service, during which time she met many rape victims.

Ehler mentioned that she was inspired to create RAPEX (later renamed to Rape-aXe) when a patient who had been raped stated, “If only I had teeth down there,” suggesting the myth of the vagina dentata. Initially called RapeX, the name was changed in 2006 upon discovering that RAPEX is also an EU warning system against dangerous goodson the market.

The Rape-aXe is a latex sheath embedded with shafts of sharp, inward-facing barbs that would be worn by a woman in her vagina like a female condom. If an attacker were to attempt vaginal rape, his penis would enter the latex sheath and be snagged by the barbs, causing the attacker excruciating pain during withdrawal and giving the victim time to escape. The condom would remain attached to the attacker’s body when he withdrew and could only be removed surgically, which would alert hospital staff and police.

Like most condoms, Rape-aXe also usually prevents pregnancy and the transmission of HIV and sexually transmitted Infections. Rape-aXe was unveiled on August 31, 2005 in South Africa. Although media coverage at the time implied that mass production was due to begin in April 2007, the device has never been marketed to the public and it remains unclear whether the product will ever be available for purchase.

Critics have accused her of developing a medieval device to fight rape. “Yes, my device may be a medieval, but it’s for a medieval deed that has been around for decades,” she said. “I believe something’s got to be done … and this will make some men rethink before they assault a woman.”

8:45 AM PT — Cops have now confirmed Ross was driving the Rolls-Royce at the time of the crash.

The passenger was Shateria L. Moragne-el — who is reportedly dating the rapper.

Cops say neither party suffered any injuries. The suspects fled from the scene before cops arrived on scene.

Rick Ross smashed his Rolls-Royce into a building in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida early this morning … while trying to escape from a gunman who opened fire on the car … this according to police.

Ross was not shot during the incident — nor was a female who was also inside the car.

According to local reports, “dozens” of shots were fired at the vehicle around 5AM — none of which hit the Rolls. Several buildings in the area WERE struck by gunfire.

Cops say another vehicle had pulled up next to the Rolls … when someone inside opened fire on Ross’ car.

Ross’ Rolls reportedly crashed into a building while trying to speed away from the gunfire.


So far, cops have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting — and have not identified any suspects.

Local10.com obtained a photo from the crash scene, showing Ross’ smashed-up Rolls-Royce being towed away. Cops tell TMZ they are investigating.

Ross was celebrating his birthday at LIV nightclub in Miami before the shooting.

As we speak, there seems to be an unrest in Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) music label over unconfirmed reports of Wizkid’s exit from the record label. Since Wizkid left EME mansion for his Lekki, Lagos home, various reports have claimed that all is no more well between Mr Capable and ‘Holla At Ur Boy’ crooner, who now seems to expect his boss, Banky W, to ‘holla at his man’ and not a boy anymore.

Even though Banky W has reportedly claimed Wizkid is still part of EME crew, industry sources have stressed that the time bomb will soon explode just as it went between D’Banj and Don Jazzy in 2012 almost about this time and all will know the true state of Banky W’s business relationship with Wizkid, who they say, wants to move on unto a bigger level than EME.

These exit reports have left some of the EME crew in panic. It is not too clear to Nigeriafilms.com what other members of the label, who sources say are overshadowed by Wizkid’s success, feel about these reports, but we learnt that Banky W may be losing sleep amidst reports in the media over the reported Wizkid’s exit from the label soon.

Efforts to contact Banky W to make him speak about this issue proved abortive as he didn’t pick our calls put through to him. We sent a text message to his known phone number last week but as we speak, he hasn’t replied our SMS.

Iyanya and his manager/business partner Ubi Franklin parked two of their cars, a Range Rover and a Honda 2010 car at the local wing of the Lagos airport on Saturday January 26th for two nights on their way to Asaba & owerri for various engagements.

They flew back this morning to pick up their cars and were told by security at the local airport that armed robbers came into the car park and stole side mirrors of six cars at gun point.
