I have someone who wants to stand as my sponsor, but is not related to me. I intended to say he is my cousin, but I don't have evidence, nor can I plot a family tree supporting this. Please can anyone advise me on what to do, he is willing to write a letter of support and also willing to do some transfers to my account which will reflect in his account prior to the submission of the application, but is this enough? thank you

Let me explain the situation.
I am sponsoring my brother on a study, say he is about to get PPR, now I want to sponsor someone else, let's say his girlfriend, study permit too, she is just about to submit her visa application.

1. will the visa officers know I have sponsored before? (even if my brother gets his study permit before his girlfriend submits her application)
2. If the money in my account remains the same, with no increase, let's say were 40k dolls when I sponsored my brother, and it is still within that range when I wanna sponsor his girlfriend, to what extent will that be a problem. (no more money to add to the account, I am thinking the file of my brother should have been closed since he already has his permit)
3. Do files for an applicant get closed after a positive decision is made, or they are kept in the consulate forever for reference purposes
4. What documents can I submit to really show I am her sponsor, after all, she is not related to us.

I expect to get my student visa soonest, but I will like to apply for my girlfriend under the common law, is this still possible? I heard it's late already but don't know how true, do I have to get the ppr first? If yes, can it be applied for when I arrive in canada? or it is something that should have been done before submitting the application. @makano @showyoung @lekiboboe and anyone who could kindly shed light, Thanks
