Have heard some people on this thread say it took them 2 to 3 weeks to get an appeal. Like he said, it depends on volume and luck I guess.✌

OK Thanks for your response.

It depends on the volume of applications received at the embassy. When did you submit your appeal?

Hey everyone I need a Clarification was initially refused Irish study visa but was given the option of appeal which I have since done. Yesterday I got a mail saying "A decision has been made please arrange a courier service to pick up your documents as soon as possible"

Go to any courier service office and arrange for them to go to the embassy and pick up the documents for you.

Please how long did it take for them to reply you that on your appeal?

Not all the transactions will have receipts. But you still have to explain them once they are N100k and above. For the ones that have receipts, explain them and attach the receipts. For the rest, the explanation will suffice

Okay bro thanks for the response.

Yes to all with complete explanation of any lump sum N100k and above, for me and my sponsor

Did you explain with receipt of payment attached for all transactions you received in your statement of account from 100k or just ordinary explanation in the letter?

oh ok but from the posts i have read, your sponsor is supposed to have more than 7,000euros at least 10,000euros..because it’s logical she has some money for her upkeep after giving u the 7,000euros

Okay, what about my own account how much should be in it when taking my statement of account even though I'm not sponsoring myself?

bro, I thought they already made a decision with regards to your application

Yes they refused the application stating
Financial Documents
Birth certificate by NPC

in the financial Documents they didn't specify where the issue as regards to both my statement of account and my sponsor's statement of account. So I'm a bit confused in this regard as to which one I need to work more on.

Anybody here with a better suggestions should help please.

PS: my parents are working and they reside in Ireland and I'm using my mom's statement of account.

How much should be in my account even if I'm not the sponsor of my study? My sponsor's account statement has up-to 7000euros even after paying the school fees of 16000 euros.

In what context?

Okay I needed to know if it is advisable to tell VO that I'm currently doing my nysc because I demanded my original documents from them sometime last month for my nysc but I didn't give reason for demanding it, so they were about making decision on my application so they emailed me to know why I demanded for the documents that time. That's why I had to ask for suggestions from you but I later gave them an explanation which is not about nysc. They have made the decision today they will be sending the documents via courier. I'm hoping for positive response.

In all honesty, I feel you should have changed the passport details rather than the birth certificate. Your DoB is a constant and a reference point for a lot of things that you can't quantify at the moment. Or you could have sworn an affidavit to correct the error rather than getting a new b8rth certificate , which is easier to do rather than going through the stress of changing your passport.

I hope others who have had this challenge can shed more insight on this

Thanks for your responses so far, I will wait to get a response from the embassy then I will know my next step. Thank you once again.

It was an error from when I was getting my international passport, to remedy the situation I had to get a new birth certificate which corresponds with the passport. I didn't write a letter to explain the whole thing while I was applying for the visa because I thought the new birth certificate will cover for the error.

I'm just feeling kinda scared about the whole thing.

It was the same transcript and international passport I presented to the university in which they gave me admission.

What do you think? @Dwebb55

I'm running out of time with my visa application, my school is taking forever to confirm payment and my Duolingo test was not certified because I had to use my phone to switch to hotspot after I lost internet on the cursed WIFI device i was using. Yes so please be careful when writing Duolingo exam.

I'm trying to book PTE exam next week, but my question is: Has anyone been granted visa without submitting any English Language Test??

Bro Duolingo English test is the easiest you can take and faster to get result. How to use your phone is by connecting it directly to your computer using USB cable with that you won't have problems with internet connection, do not use hotspots or Wi-Fi the network is not consistent. Also try taking the test in an extremely quiet environment preferably in the midnight when there is less noise and network is stronger that time. Stick to the rules. You have another chance to retake the test and it is free until you are certified. I applied for visa using Duolingo English test though I'm still waiting for response. So I suggest you take your time and study the rules of the test so you don't getting uncertified.

It depends on the circumstances. However, your date of birth should not be subject to change and you can imagine the thoughts of the VO attending to your application! If there are discrepancies in your DoB, which is a red flag then other discrepancies are further highlighted and amplified.

Why do you have different DoB's? What action have you taken to remedy this error(if it is an error)? Have you explained the circumstances that resulted in this in a clear, concise way? When you answer these questions, then you will know if this infraction is serious or not!

PS: I presented a birth certificate which tallies with the international passport.

What is necessary and written on their website is the bank statement of the visa applicant (whether self-sponsoring or not).

However, payslip is not compulsory (if the company doesn’t give). But if you were paid during the internship, then it should be evidenced in your bank statement. This will suffice without the payslips.

Thank you for your response I appreciate.

Very necessary. It’s stated on their website whether you’re sponsoring or not.

The payslip for a one year internship is it needed because it wasn't given as at the time of the program. I submitted the bank statement and the appointment letter stating that it's a one year work in my application, I hope they don't ask for payslip?

Hello Sarto

In addition to what @Dwebb and ICASNg said, you might want to still do a research on how you could practice as an optometrist, or immunologist. I mean what are the criteria to be a member of their respective bodies. Do you need to write additional exams, get certified ,have work experiences etc.

For example, I know someone who studied Medical Science in Nigeria and came to Ireland to study MSC Pharmacology, but he is now working as a Medical scientist in a government hospital in Ireland. He had some work experiences back in Nigeria as a Medical scientist and also got his Nigeria certificates verified with the relevant body in Ireland to practice as a medical scientist.

This might not apply in your case but I am just saying you should research on the criteria if you haven't already done so. You can get prepared ahead by contacting the respective bodies while you are in Nigeria and get all the necessary documents ready before travelling to Ireland. (Google the association).

Goodluck.

Louis

Yes for optometrist one needs to write an exam to be certified to practice as an optometrist in Ireland.

On the University website, what are the learning outcomes of the course? What jobs can you get when you graduate with the degree? Most schools provide these information and with that you can get an idea about if the job is on the critical skills list and also search on job websites to see the vacancy profile.

It looks like it could be a good one and you will be better positioned if you have a background in the medical and pharmaceutical fields

Thanks a bunch I was able to see what I was looking for, it's on the critical skills list and it's quite lucrative in the health, research and production sectors. Thanks once again.

Hi, I don't have full details of your previous academic background so my response based on my opinion would be brief. I think if you are tending towards a career in research as related to Human immune system and health especially during this pandemic era it won't be a bad choice . It may also be useful to the already big Pharma industry in Ireland. Its all about how your strategically position yourself in terms of Employment or better yet if you pass excellently well, you may be heading for a fully funded PhD program in e.g Effects of Covid Vaccine on Pregnant women (lol) on a lighter mood though.

But I won't say its not a good course especially as the world is figuring out this covid , vaccines and possible future pandemic or epidemic

Thanks ICASNG this is quite comforting, actually I am a Optometry Doctor so I wanted to combine both knowledge

Please read more about the course before you come here.

I have read many things online but I haven't seen so I think if I can get it from someone who has the experience or someone who reside in Ireland for any idea.
