Good evening family, first of all I want to congratulate all those that have been getting successes in their German pursuit. A special thanks to all the senior men and ladies that have been rendering great assistance to those who are stocked.

I was so optimistic that I applied to just 2 schools and unfunately, I got rejections. Initially, I was totally flabagasted when I read here of people who applied to 8 schools, 20 schools and even more than 30 schools. But now the reasons are very clear.

I have started to pen down schools for the summer 2020. One of them is TUM and Vpd is required. I tried to register for vpd in Uni- assist but could not continue because there was no "all courses" in the course drop down. Senior bros & sis that have gone thru this stage, please how do I go about it? Thank you.

Its "alles Fächer" not all courses. That's how it's written. I also applied for VPD today for TUM

Please if you are in PH and plan to send documents to uniassist within this month, please PM me.

To winter folks still awaiting AL/AD don't give up just yet. It's not over until it's over and draw up backup plan if need be.
To summer folks, start preparing. Aside from applications, start drawing up timelines, when you will apply, when you expect to receive AL, when you want to book appointment. It'll be a tentative plan coz change is constant but it's better than nothing.

Happy new month Deutshe family. Thks to Almighty for the many Al ND Visas. May God see u all through nd greater grace to excel in Germany.
Pls pals if your waiting for summer and would be applying for English taught BSc pls help me as I could only see limited courses listed on Daad.
Pls help me wit list of schools that has summer offers for BSc not minding d courses. I will do the rest research pls Free tution.
Unlike during my search for winter but due to finance ND lots more had to delay.

Thanks God bless for your assistance

The truth is most courses are very limited during summer. In my case, when I searched for my course for winter application, I saw more than 15 schools. But when I used advanced filter for summer, I only got 4 schools. You may need to go to Wikipedia, search for universities in Germany, open one by one and check to see if they have your intended course for summer. Yes it is tedious but it will be worth it. Some schools are not listed on daad.

i have been filling BSc each time i am booking appointment and in the column that asks "what type of program" and have neva gotten A.D
Could that be the cause, should i cancel and put master in that area when d program i am going for is BSc

Haba Bros, Why would you put MSc when you're going for BSc, even if you get AD I'm very sure Paulinus will bounce you. Calm down ooooo, don't get desperate coz desperation drives people to do irrational things.
- Have you gotten enrolment extension from your school? Or can you enrol online/by proxy?
- please book under the right category
Fabcol:
I can relate
Started this journey 2017 and to God be the glory I should be out of here this month or early September latest... A whole lot happened within that 2years but what kept me going was my long term plans, ambitions,.. don't let desperation, franstration and lack of patience set in now.. no date, category issues isn't enough reason for you to start thinking irrationally.. if this winter isn't looking promising, go back to the drawing board and prepare very well for summer(you no go this year no means say u no go fit go next year)
Also, honestly speaking this your post doesn't speak well of you(sounds like your plan is just to travel outside Nigeria.)

Follow bros Fabcol advice above. If you can't make winter, you'll surely make summer, especially now you have enough time to plan and secure AD early enough. My people, let's all be calm and think things through.

Okay my Bosses
I want to ask, is it only by a student visa one can use to travel now

This Cat stuff is scaring me right now.

Any other possible means of travelling there
How else do you want to travel to germany for school if not by student visa? you can't use any other visa to study.
Just calm down. Follow due process, apply in the right category( since someone mentioned that Paulinus is now bouncing people for booking in the wrong category). Pray and trust God, but also have Plan B against summer if this winter doesn't work out.

Hello all,
So here is a German "Cheat Sheet", It's a one page document that contains all the basic German grammer rules. You can print it out for easy reference. If you have any questions or need clarification, please quote this post and I'll try to explain as best as i can.

Concerning the paid Udemy videos, I received soooooo many pms I won't be able to respond to all. So I'm creating a dropbox folder that will contain all the videos and lecture slides and I'll even add a few grammer books that have been useful to me, I'll share the link when it's ready. But be patient oo coz it'll clearly take some time to gather it all. Thank you.

Uni Kassel....Msc Functional Safety Engineering

I have appointment date for 22 Oct

And enrolment must be completeted in person after starting it online. How do I go about this. My course start date is Oct 1st. But I used Nov as start date to get AD from embassy
You used November as start date, do you have any proof ie. is it stated on your AL or did your school offer extension? The embassy will ask for proof so figure out how to get it

Hi thanks for your response, I'm on the embassy website and i saw that they are no longer giving dates for winter 19/20
When is your enrollment deadline? If its September/October, try and mail your school to extend it to November. Then use the date to book appointment. You might still get appointment, but it'll be later (around October/November)

Good day all, first i must say that I'm quite new to the process after getting admission letter hence the reason for my inquiry.
I've been offered admission in 2 schools, chemnitz and Gottingen, I plan on opening the required blocked account before the week runs out, however anything after that I'm not that informed on... I'll love it if anyone could just help a brother out.
Thanks
Try reading through the thread, start from page one, by the time you get to the current page you'll be well informed. Your next step is to book for visa appointment with german embassy so go to the german embassy website and do so. Please wait until you recieve an appointment date before funding your blocked account.

1. i booked for AD since June nd my enrollment deadline is oct1..i am thinking of cancelling nd rebooking though av sent a mail to my skul requesting for extension of enrollment deadline buh dy avnt rply my msage..my question is sud I go on to rebook wit November as enrollment deadline

2.. I graduated wit 2:2 nd since d rules av changed can I still book under cat A because am scared of booking under cat B since a fwend told me it's hard to gt AD under cat B..
pls sum1 sud help a confused fellow..

1. Wait until you receive a response from your school because the embassy will ask for proof of enrollment extension.
2. If you graduated with 2:2 and you cancel your appointment you'll have to rebook under Category B. I strongly believe that Category B peeps will still get dates but much later dates like from late October. But try and try to get enrollment extension from your school

Hello house, please i really just need advice and opinion and would really appreciate it.
Which would you pick between a masters degree in germany or a post graduate diploma in Canada for someone who wants to settle in either of the two countries.

Nobody can and should make this decision for you. I have 2 close friends who were my class mates in school. They both went to Canada for Masters and graduated last year. One was able to get a job after graduation, the other couldn't get a job, she had to relocate to the USA and she still couldn't get a job. Now her visa is about to expire and with the way Trump has been towards immigration she has no choice but to return back to Nigeria.
Everyone has a destiny unique to him/her. People have relocated and their lives changed for the better. Some also relocated and it cost them dearly. Your life na your own oo and everybody's grace is different.
So sit down, weigh the pros and cons and see which country fits your future plans and dreams. Above all, pray verrrrrry well for wisdom to make the right choice coz as the Bible says "There is a way that seems right to a man but the end is death". All that glitters is not gold.

Pls stop discouraging us, I tried twice before I finally entered De.

Exactly. I understand the frustration of waiting months for AD but it's desperation that makes people make costly mistakes. If you don't make it to DE this winter why not try again for summer or even next winter? There are many things that can discourage people in this German waka and the German government can decide to change things anytime (after all they just increased BA money) but we should remain positive. If not for how things are in Nigeria, will many people want to migrate? Let's keep calm and be patient, relocation to another country is a big deal and should be well thought out and planned. So many people have relocated because 'I must leave Naija by force' and they regretted it. Above all trust God.

Can one write A2 without having to write A1? And when is the A2 exam usually written in Nigeria?

I am considering self-study to get to A2 before my interview for the summer session next year. Hopefully, it will portray me as someone who is committed to the endeavour.

Yes you can. The next A2 exams are in December, go to the Goethe institute Website and check for the enrollment dates and exam dates. You must enrol in person at their office during the enrollment dates
If Your target is to write the A2 exams in December that means you have 5 months to learn up to A2 so START NOW (if you haven't started). Some things you need to learn:
- The 4 grammatical cases (Nominative, Accusative, Dative and Genitive)
- Prepositions (there are prepositions that go with each case and there are 2-way prepositions you need to know how to use them)
- Adjective deklination, N-deklination. These 2 go burst your mind but fear not.
- Präteritum (simple past tense), perfekt (past tense) and Future 1. In my opinion, focus on Präteritum since you are writing the exams coz Präteritum is used for written language while Perfekt is for spoken language. But learn all ooo
- Temporal adverbs, using words like sometimes, occasionally, rarely in german.
- Memorise 1000 words for Vocabulary (that's the number of words listed on the Goethe Institute website)

Please I need a response to this: I don't fully understand what the German embassy sent. Does it mean I have to certify the application form? And does it also mean it's mandatory to have applied to 5 schools before I can certify??

Please my appointment is for Monday, I need an urgent response.

No you don't need to certify the application form, the embassy just need to see it as proof that you're applying for schools. The max no of sets of docs is 5 I don't think you need to show 5 application forms (I stand to be corrected)

Abeg, how does "declension" work?

Declension is when a noun, pronoun, adjective etc changes form according to grammatical case and gender. Eg. The man is Der Mann (Nominative case) den Mann (Accusative case) dem Mann (Dativ case) des Mannes (Genitive case).

I learn from a while lot of resources at once scheduling different times for them that way I gradually introduce my self to slightly harder topics in a natural way.
Like the adjective declension stuff never knew it was A2/B1 level all I know is I was already learning it while studying basic german. Ein großer Mann, ein großes Buch, Die große Bank ,Die großen Banken
Eine gute Frau .
I swaer too much thinking dey this langauge. Why we no just use groß for everything. We go sha understnd grin
Then we have Mir, Dir, Dich, Mich
I go conquer the language whether it likes it or not.

Honestly Adjektive declension is frustrating!!! N declension is also annoying. But true true we go learn am by force by fire

You are right german has rules men but it's a cool langauge. German with jenny is nice. I also use an app fastlingo from playstore. You buy it for 4$ I think. It teaches you by using phrases and explains the grammer concept behind it.

German is a really beautiful language I'm beginning to love but I won't lie to anyone E NO EASY OOOO. It was when I got to A2 I began to really understand that this language no be beans.
Yes I've been self studying. I'm just learning for myself, want to write A2 exams in Goethe before I leave Naija. I'll check out the app, it sounds cool. I also recommend Udemy for paid German courses. I have a ffew Videos I downloaded from the paid courses I took there, anyone interested can pm me.

Good evening to every one here,,, please i need a good site where i can learn German language fast

Learning a whole new language, especially a language as complex as German, cannot be done 'sharp sharp'. It requires consistency, practice and commitment. Especially if you're learning on your own, you're gonna need a lottttt of motivation coz German is very complex. I was studying Adjectivdeklination last week and I felt like crying.
So it depends on what level you hope to achieve. If its A1, you can learn on your own within 2-3 months.
As for resources there are tons on the internet. Here's an answer I've shared previously here
A1 is basic beginner levl; not hard at all. you just need to learn
- the Nominative, Accusative and Dative case ( also learn the prepositions that goes with each case).
- Prasens (Present tense), Perfekt (simple perfect tense) and Praeteritum ( Simple Past tense)
- Memorise at least 500 words for your vocabulary. For nouns, please memorise with the article (der/die/das) , it makes things simpler. For verbs, memorise both the basic form and the past participle form (partizip II) and whether the past particle goes with 'haben' or'sein'(the basic rule is that 'sein' is for verbs that signify movement or change of state). For adjectives, just memorise the basic form but bear in mind that adjectives are also declinated (just like nouns) but adjective declination is A2/B1 level.
- It's good to know grammer rules but don't focus so much on them. Practice by writing and speaking (even if it's just to yourself).

Try Youtube - German with Jenny, Memrise, and grammar books.

Good evening House! Please I would like to know which schools in Germany give Bachelors admission with only ND certificate. I got rejections in Bayreuth, Cottbus and Rhein Waal. I look forward to applying for summer admission, but I would like to be sure of schools that do not have problem with only National Diploma. Thanks a lot for any possible hints.

You won't get admission with ND. You need 100lvl certificate, a full BSc degree or HND to get BSc admission in Germany.
