4realisreal: Its "alles Fächer" not all courses. That's how it's written. I also applied for VPD today for TUM 2 Likes |

alaafyn: depends on the school and course. Some schools have started. I'm actually applying for VPD via uniassist 1 Like |

Please if you are in PH and plan to send documents to uniassist within this month, please PM me. To winter folks still awaiting AL/AD don't give up just yet. It's not over until it's over and draw up backup plan if need be. To summer folks, start preparing. Aside from applications, start drawing up timelines, when you will apply, when you expect to receive AL, when you want to book appointment. It'll be a tentative plan coz change is constant but it's better than nothing. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

prety247: The truth is most courses are very limited during summer. In my case, when I searched for my course for winter application, I saw more than 15 schools. But when I used advanced filter for summer, I only got 4 schools. You may need to go to Wikipedia, search for universities in Germany, open one by one and check to see if they have your intended course for summer. Yes it is tedious but it will be worth it. Some schools are not listed on daad. |

Eugochukwu439: Haba Bros, Why would you put MSc when you're going for BSc, even if you get AD I'm very sure Paulinus will bounce you. Calm down ooooo, don't get desperate coz desperation drives people to do irrational things. - Have you gotten enrolment extension from your school? Or can you enrol online/by proxy? - please book under the right category Fabcol:Follow bros Fabcol advice above. If you can't make winter, you'll surely make summer, especially now you have enough time to plan and secure AD early enough. My people, let's all be calm and think things through. 2 Likes |

Toluwase100:How else do you want to travel to germany for school if not by student visa? you can't use any other visa to study. Just calm down. Follow due process, apply in the right category( since someone mentioned that Paulinus is now bouncing people for booking in the wrong category). Pray and trust God, but also have Plan B against summer if this winter doesn't work out. 1 Like |

Hello all, So here is a German "Cheat Sheet", It's a one page document that contains all the basic German grammer rules. You can print it out for easy reference. If you have any questions or need clarification, please quote this post and I'll try to explain as best as i can. Concerning the paid Udemy videos, I received soooooo many pms I won't be able to respond to all. So I'm creating a dropbox folder that will contain all the videos and lecture slides and I'll even add a few grammer books that have been useful to me, I'll share the link when it's ready. But be patient oo coz it'll clearly take some time to gather it all. Thank you. 34 Likes 4 Shares |

glopatra:You used November as start date, do you have any proof ie. is it stated on your AL or did your school offer extension? The embassy will ask for proof so figure out how to get it 1 Like |

sayodele90:When is your enrollment deadline? If its September/October, try and mail your school to extend it to November. Then use the date to book appointment. You might still get appointment, but it'll be later (around October/November) |

sayodele90:Try reading through the thread, start from page one, by the time you get to the current page you'll be well informed. Your next step is to book for visa appointment with german embassy so go to the german embassy website and do so. Please wait until you recieve an appointment date before funding your blocked account. 1 Like |

Engrphilips: You're supposed to cancel your appointment at least ONE WEEK to the day. Any thing later and you'll be banned. |

dailydolar: Oh ok sorry for the misinformation. It was said a few days ago that Category A had been changed to just 1st class and 2:1, didn't know that it wasn't correct |
![]() |
Ayooluwa45: 1. Wait until you receive a response from your school because the embassy will ask for proof of enrollment extension. 2. If you graduated with 2:2 and you cancel your appointment you'll have to rebook under Category B. I strongly believe that Category B peeps will still get dates but much later dates like from late October. But try and try to get enrollment extension from your school |

Rayychii: Nobody can and should make this decision for you. I have 2 close friends who were my class mates in school. They both went to Canada for Masters and graduated last year. One was able to get a job after graduation, the other couldn't get a job, she had to relocate to the USA and she still couldn't get a job. Now her visa is about to expire and with the way Trump has been towards immigration she has no choice but to return back to Nigeria. Everyone has a destiny unique to him/her. People have relocated and their lives changed for the better. Some also relocated and it cost them dearly. Your life na your own oo and everybody's grace is different. So sit down, weigh the pros and cons and see which country fits your future plans and dreams. Above all, pray verrrrrry well for wisdom to make the right choice coz as the Bible says "There is a way that seems right to a man but the end is death". All that glitters is not gold. 13 Likes 1 Share |

waledora: Exactly. I understand the frustration of waiting months for AD but it's desperation that makes people make costly mistakes. If you don't make it to DE this winter why not try again for summer or even next winter? There are many things that can discourage people in this German waka and the German government can decide to change things anytime (after all they just increased BA money) but we should remain positive. If not for how things are in Nigeria, will many people want to migrate? Let's keep calm and be patient, relocation to another country is a big deal and should be well thought out and planned. So many people have relocated because 'I must leave Naija by force' and they regretted it. Above all trust God. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

odimbannamdi: Yes you can. The next A2 exams are in December, go to the Goethe institute Website and check for the enrollment dates and exam dates. You must enrol in person at their office during the enrollment dates If Your target is to write the A2 exams in December that means you have 5 months to learn up to A2 so START NOW (if you haven't started). Some things you need to learn: - The 4 grammatical cases (Nominative, Accusative, Dative and Genitive) - Prepositions (there are prepositions that go with each case and there are 2-way prepositions you need to know how to use them) - Adjective deklination, N-deklination. These 2 go burst your mind but fear not. - Präteritum (simple past tense), perfekt (past tense) and Future 1. In my opinion, focus on Präteritum since you are writing the exams coz Präteritum is used for written language while Perfekt is for spoken language. But learn all ooo - Temporal adverbs, using words like sometimes, occasionally, rarely in german. - Memorise 1000 words for Vocabulary (that's the number of words listed on the Goethe Institute website) 10 Likes 2 Shares |

epurepu: No you don't need to certify the application form, the embassy just need to see it as proof that you're applying for schools. The max no of sets of docs is 5 I don't think you need to show 5 application forms (I stand to be corrected) 1 Like |

obibanks: Declension is when a noun, pronoun, adjective etc changes form according to grammatical case and gender. Eg. The man is Der Mann (Nominative case) den Mann (Accusative case) dem Mann (Dativ case) des Mannes (Genitive case). 1 Like |

mexzony: Honestly Adjektive declension is frustrating!!! N declension is also annoying. But true true we go learn am by force by fire 1 Like |

dennison4luv: Learning a whole new language, especially a language as complex as German, cannot be done 'sharp sharp'. It requires consistency, practice and commitment. Especially if you're learning on your own, you're gonna need a lottttt of motivation coz German is very complex. I was studying Adjectivdeklination last week and I felt like crying. So it depends on what level you hope to achieve. If its A1, you can learn on your own within 2-3 months. As for resources there are tons on the internet. Here's an answer I've shared previously here A1 is basic beginner levl; not hard at all. you just need to learn - the Nominative, Accusative and Dative case ( also learn the prepositions that goes with each case). - Prasens (Present tense), Perfekt (simple perfect tense) and Praeteritum ( Simple Past tense) - Memorise at least 500 words for your vocabulary. For nouns, please memorise with the article (der/die/das) , it makes things simpler. For verbs, memorise both the basic form and the past participle form (partizip II) and whether the past particle goes with 'haben' or'sein'(the basic rule is that 'sein' is for verbs that signify movement or change of state). For adjectives, just memorise the basic form but bear in mind that adjectives are also declinated (just like nouns) but adjective declination is A2/B1 level. - It's good to know grammer rules but don't focus so much on them. Practice by writing and speaking (even if it's just to yourself). Try Youtube - German with Jenny, Memrise, and grammar books. 18 Likes 1 Share |
