In 2005/6 season, he tore his knee ligaments and he was out for 5 months. . . .In that season, he copped 22 appearances.
In 2006/7 season, he copped another  54 appearances so you have to be genetically daft to think Xavi wasnt relevant when the likes of Van Bommel and Deco were in the team.

Deco was not as important as Xavi.
