1. The Mace theft

Hoodlums invaded the upper legislative chamber in the National Assembly complex, seized the symbol of authority of the house which is the mace and fled in a black SUV.

The theft was blamed on the lawmaker representing Delta Central senatorial district, Ovie Omo-Agege, who had allegedly led the hoodlums into the chamber before they seized n the mace.

A day later, the mace was found where it was abandoned by the roadside and its theft described as an attack on democracy.

Nollywood is a sobriquet that refers to the Nigerian film industry which is the second largest movie industry in the world.

Over the years, Nollywood has evolved from an act of passion to a lucrative industry that churns out millions of cash in the box office.

When it comes to revenues, some Nollywood movies have earned their place and we will be looking at those productions in this article.

Without further ado, below are the highest-grossing Nigerian films of all time in Nigerian cinemas. Revenues from special screenings, DVD sales, online streaming and theatrical screenings outside Nigeria are excluded from this gross total.

Films before the year 2000 are also excluded from this list as their gross totals have not been inflation adjusted.

10. The C.E.O

A Kunle Afolayan movie, "The C.E.O" churned out N60 million naira at the box office in 2016.

Nollywood veteran, Chinedu Ikedieze, 'Aki' a.k.a 'Efe' in a recent interview has revealed the reason why he was not paired with his fond colleague Osita Iheme 'Paw Paw' in the Mnet comedy series, 'The Johnsons.'

Chinedu had an exclusive chat with Scenevoice in their 'scene moments' show where he spoke on many issues including his role as 'Efe' the main character in the hilarious comedy series.

Known for paring roles with his friend and colleague, Osita Iheme a.k.a 'Paw Paw,' movie fans got worries why 'The Johnsons' only featured Chinedu Ikedieze which the actor revealed in the exclusive interview.

He broadened his views up to Nollywood as a lucrative industry and the future it holds in the next five years.

Scenevoice caught up with the versatile actor on the set of 'The Johnsons' series where he poured out his heart on the camera after the days shoot.
