Meanwhile someone I know right in front me , applied for a US passport from the comfort of their bedroom and received the passport book in 2 weeks, using standardized order .My prayers everyday is for the Nigerian citizens to wake up and do everything within their power to hold looters accountable. The citizens are suffering and many do not seen to understand how backward we are as a nation in terms of governance and other basic rights to make life meaningful.

The sad thing hearing this negative news , the amount is less than 27 USD.May thunder fire all these rulers . In the real scheme of things if things were working it is cheap , when compared with YouTube tv which is around 55 usd for base package , mediacom is around 120 USD, Direct Tv is around 100 USD for base package etc . In addition, the quality of service provided by DStV when compared to those earlier mentioned is substandard.Nigeria needs a reset to get things moving , so people can get quality service.

The few ones in Nigeria are under paid , killed by terrorists , kidnapped , and not appreciated. In addition the poor facilities and lack of power supply will break any Doctor. However , If resources are channeled to health care, industry and encourage private investors to invest , this may help ameliorate the current situation..

Politics / Re: Otti Denies Suing Tinubu Over Refusal To Build Seaport, Airport In Abia by Schifo: 5:01pm On Mar 02
Abia state does need an International airport for logistic reasons. A lot of factories and manufacturing companies are all over Abia state and with establishment of the power generating plant, a lot of businesses will be established . Every state in Nigeria should have an airport, so long as they have the capacity to build and maintain one .In the United States for example, every state has an international airport and it is maintained by their various counties the airports are located .

Ezewuzie01:
Abia state does not need an airport. Port Harcourt airport is close to Aba while Owerri airport is close to Umuahia. Akwa Ibom airport is also there to serve them. As for seaport, Onne port in Rivers state is not very far away.

Randy Waldrum Signs New Contract Extension As Super Falcons Coach
Best

Randy Waldrum has signed a new contract extension to remain as the Super Falcons Coach, it has been understood.

The American who took the nine-time Africa champions to the Round 16 of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand signed the contract recently.

The details of his new contract were not available at press time but it was reliably gathered that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF is yet to sign their own part of the contractual agreement.

“I am reliably informed that Coach Waldrum has signed the Super Falcons contract extension the NFF has offered him,” sports journalist, Osasu Obayiuwana disclosed on Monday.

It was not clear why the NFF is dilly-dallying in signing their own part. Waldrum’s initial contract with the NFF expired in October last year.

The Super Falcons have crucial 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers to play next month.

“Is there any reason the NFF have not signed their own part of the deal? They have a decisive at Paris 2024 Olympics qualifier against Cameroon in February. The Falcons have not played in the Olympics since 2008″, Obayiuwana worried.

The contract extension deal is taking almost three months, since his initial offer ended in October, and almost six months since the end of Nigeria’s World Cup run in August.

The Falcons will face Cameroon in the third round of the Olympic Games qualifying campaign between the 19th and 28th of February after they defeated Ethiopia 5-1 on aggregate in the second round.

Only two teams will represent Africa at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Having missed out from the London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the Super Falcons are eager to stage a comeback in Paris

You are spot on. Nigeria is a big for nothing country that encourages and practices corruption, nepotism, terrorism and election rigging. We have nothing to offer except noise and bragging. Many Neighboring countries are doing far better with a fantastic system. Look at Liberia who just had their last election, everything went smoothly and no unnecessary loss of lives unlike what happened earlier in the Nigerian elections. We need to humble ourselves and tell ourselves the truth, we need a complete system overhaul.

Fujiyama:

^^^
grin

I think too many Nigerians are hard wired to use the above description when talking about our neighbours on the continent - both near and far.

We do it when talking about nearly everything.

Football.
Food.
Music.
Popular culture.
Economy.

And so on.

The problem is that this description is false. It is inaccurate. What exactly is it that makes Nigeria big and everybody else small?

Is it literal size or land mass? Algeria takes the crown here - although the bulk of that Algerian land mass is arid desert. Is it military might? This is a little bit tough to measure because only an armed conflict can reveal the truth about this...and so far, Nigeria has studiously avoided any trouble with its neighbours (both near and far). There has been a home grown test of that military capability for over a decade now...and unfortunately, Nigeria has failed that test repeatedly - as terrorists continue to raid the country's roads, forests and villages at will. undecided Is it regional or continental clout? Nigeria's leader told a group of putschists next door to stand down within a week if they knew what was good for them. That was several months ago. Nothing has happened and nothing will happen...and that says it all really. Is it the size of the economy? On a per head basis, other African countries are far ahead. Is it the size and strength of manufacturing and heavy industry? Nigeria right now is in the throes of de-industrialization as companies fold up and leave...and young men and women turn their attentions to POS machine operation, keke napep riding and okada riding to keep body and soul together. undecided So...what exactly is it that makes Nigeria big and others small? undecided

Is it people? Yes...Nigeria has more black people than any other country on earth, but...that's about it. Most of those people are multi-dimensionally poor and very, very angry - and that's why Nigeria is highly unstable.

That's about it.

Spending a tonne of money on personnel cost is not rationale . A lot of these positions in these ministries can be streamlined to cut cost . Look at Education, Defense and Finance for example , spending almost a third of their budget on personnel cost in this age of AI. Then channel the remaining to health and other to improve HDI.
